If modding is in then those would be changes i would like to see:

- reduce by 50% headshot damage. Leave it at normal values for snipers
- more damage at distance. Bullets already have big spread so damage downgrade should be a thing (maybe on for reeeealy long shots)
- more enemy damage on player movement. Moving between two shocktroopers should be deadly to any class.
- maximum 3CP use for each character in one turn.
- increase bonuses and downgrades from character traits.

Those would be some good changes.

And certainly make the game a lot harder to cheese with scouts.

Play tactical by using cover, get B rank.

Run scout at enemy like a popamole retart, shoot enemy in face, get A rank.

Rank is determined by number of turns only.

The changes Perkel would make would make A Rank impossible because then you would be playing a turned based cover based shooter, turn limitations would make it impossible to reach it on Chapter 3 (since the only way to do it is a mad charge to the base).

Scouts are infamously broken in this game.

They fixed it in the later games, though.

Fuck yeah, armored car level in TWO FUCKING TURNS! Where's my SSS Rank?

I had a really hard time with it when first playing on the PS3, but it's really simple to beat once you know the game.

I heard this game was good, but I didn't expect to enjoy it this much either. Surprisingly enough, preferring KB/M to the controller on this one (largely due to aiming).

Damn this really is a lot of fun. Very Silent Storm-ish at times.

This part actually already happened in VC3. In that one, 90% of the time passing by a Shocktrooper unawares will usually end up with a dead or almost-dead squad member. And passing by a Gunner is death to anything not called a tank... or an armored tech who's facing the right way.

Heck, even interception fire from SCOUTS hurt in that game.

- make it so that conquering a flag requires an Action.

That too.

Naturally it would come with changes to how rank is gained. Mostly changing just amount of turns for A instead of changing formula. But that would require some playtesting.

Scouts are infamously broken in this game.

They fixed it in the later games, though.

They didn't fix it in VC2. idk about vc3

Valkyrie Chronicles, like Dark Souls before it proved that the best tactical games, action-RPGs come from the consoles. Oh the irony. :smug:

Uh, I remember scouts getting significantly harder to utilize in VC2 further you get into the end of the game.

Making ranks a combination of speed, kills and casualties would be great if mods could do it.

I believe so too. VC2 had better classes (still playing through), but the leveling system was crazy grindy. I'd love to see some kind of ranking based on overall "skill", which as you say is speed, enemy forces destroyed, and damage you take. It should also be clear up-front.

I want a "Long War" mod for VC. That would be godlike.

VC2 and 3 ranks are tightly playtested, so i expect only shit from modders changing things.

I'm talking about recent games obviously.
then learn to express yourself better, and it's still not true, especially given recent kickstarters like chaos reborn and vc2 and 3 being grindy shit with incredibly bad maps.

Are the two DLC side missions playable during the main campaing or do I need to play them from the skirmish menu? I've just started the game but I'm liking it. Mainly because of its different mechanics. I'm happy.

You can play them from the main menu whenever you like.

How does that work? It updates your team in the main story or what?

While I still didn't have time to get around to the Edy DLC I can venture a pretty good guess as to the fact that it's a 'standalone', because - as the description implies - it's not part of the main story.

I would check it but I'm at work right now.
