Saving times are done so fast, I saved twice, just because I didnt think I saved the first time. Outside of the controls, I have no qualms with this port thus far. Definitely better than what I have seen from certain other developers that I wont name.

Finally I can see Selvaria's Boobs in hd.

Although it doesn't matter much for this game (unlike say, a GTA clone where you may want to drive with a controller but use keyboard and mouse when on foot), they got control prompts swapping between keyboard/mouse and gamepad and a lot of ports don't, so props there. Some of the control bindings are a bit weird (skip cutscene is enter, not escape), but not a big problem.

The max sensitivity the config thing allows is very low ("100"), but you can set it to an arbitrarily high number by editing the config file (I set "1000" and that's way better feeling, especially on the map). I need to try setting it higher and see how high I need to put it before it's too much for me. You can set the mouse sensititvy to anything, but it appears to cap at 100. Seems I was just getting more used to it when I was trying higher and higher numbers instead of actually getting more sensitive.

Other than having trouble alt-tabbing this is even better than I expected after reading Durante's report.

Speaking of alt tabbing, the icon for the desktop is Welkin, but icon for the taskbar is the game's logo. Seems a bit sloppy, but not really a problem.

Poking in the file directory says just under 15 gigs of it is the prerendered movies.

Wonder how they are saved, because that's about 35 episodes of a single audio 720p 16:9 anime.

50 GB space on a blu-ray disc, they probably never compressed them to begin with.

Movies are saved as SFD files. Media Player Classic can see they have 2 audio tracks and are saved at 720p and play them... sorta
58OU5Db.jpg

This says it's not some exclusive internal format, so there's probably something out there that can actually play them, but I don't care to check. Character voices are saved as CSD which neither Foobar nor MPC can open.

The credits (helpfully one of the 3 files in "movie" not labeled EV######) in particular are over 846MB

The 3 second long Sega logo splash screen at the start is also 2.60 MB, which should show how (un)compressed it is.

Interestingly the save icons are saved in a "normal" format (.png)

I wanted to make somewhat balanced squad but most of space is taken by cute anime girls. How that could happen?

It's a CRI Sofdec propietary video container format developed by CRI Middleware Co. Ltd.. It can store MPEG-1/MPEG-2 video stream with CRI's proprietary ADX audio codec and/or AC3 audio stream. Last time i've checked ffplay from ffmpeg package http://ffmpeg.zeranoe.com/builds/ could play those videos without problem.

This is fucked up, I could be playing but I don't have enough disc space to download 20GB then delete the video files >.<

- Fix for quiet/off-pitch audio (SFX and VO) during battles.

Yeah i though something was weird with audio. Gunshots were almost muted for some reason.
