Character screen looks alot better, needs more work on stats and maybe art pass on the icons.. but other than that, looks pretty good, and certainly better than before.

Now the inventory UI... hmm.. Not really sure I like it. The grid based stuff looks bad, the icons and models look a little plastic and not "life-like".. definitely needs more work.

Art direction on those item models are quite bad though.. ugh.

The new UI isn't perfect, but a HUGE improvement. Nice to see that the game now has a grid based inventory too. :D

They look just like the item models in Fallout. Nobody ever complained about the item models in Fallout.

A shining example of inefficiency when you have two lists of the same Attributes next to each other.
What is it exactly that makes devs refuse to use the entire screen for character sheets and inventory and whatnot? Is there something cool about seeing the game screen in the background that I'm missing?

It gives you the ability to drag and drop items out into the world, instead of them being isolated in their own separate inventory world.

Also, immershun, etc.

Personally, I associate full-screen UIs with console games nowadays, so I'm kind of happy to see this.
Take Morrowind UI and adapt it to party management (you can get rid of the map since WL2 has separate map travel). It gives you the ability to drag and drop items out into the world, resize windows, pin windows, screen edge detection, one click open/close of everything. It also has a grid inventory for those who care for it.

Then again Bethesda are way more talented than InXile... :smug:

Fallout was released in 1997.... I expect SOME improvements if not similar.

How did you get this tag? Just wonderin', cuz I always thought fanboys were utterly devoted.

I do hope the "skills" tab isn't that kind of small window with seven items visible and the needing rape the mouswheel to maneuver through it all. Why is it so hard to make a proper character sheet with all the needed info in one screen and as little as possible of that tab'n scroll circus? Oh well, at least the whole of it looks a lot clearer and more functional than before; even if the icons are sort of derpy and the choice of colour is kinda out of place.

I found something. In Poland Wasteland 2 will be published by Cenega. On Cenega's site there is some really badly and chaotically written description and a link to the shop where You actually can preorder it... That site has "not final" package mockup. Also shop's site rate the game Pegi 16 and Cenega's rate it 18.... On Cenega website there is a link to the German publisher Koch Media, which is somehow linked to the Deep Silver. DS was announced some time ago to take care of sending boxes and other publisher stuff.

http://sklep.muve.pl/pc/strategia/wasteland-2-pc-pl/62837#opis-szczegolowy -shop with mockup
http://www.kochmedia.com/de/games/publishing.html Somebody understanding german should look into it.

Edit:
Deep Silver is a division of Koch Media GmbH

Can someone explain to me what the fuck's the deal with those Mass Effect-type bars? Why spend so much fucking space just to give a visual representation of the numbers that are right next to them?
Seriously people, go old-school, it's more efficient that way.

EDIT: There's also the Average/Great descript, though I guess that's a flavor thing from Fallout. You basically have 3 things telling you the same information.

Look at that monospaced bitmap pixel-goodness. Mm-mm. I'm getting all hot and bothered looking at it.

Character screen accurately portrays Todd Howard as the modern "geek" archetype - otherwise unremarkable people with below-average physique who jumped on the "Jesse Eisenberg coolness" bandwagon without having the intellect ascribed to traditional nerds. They subscribe to the belief that dressing like a nerd and mumbling like a nerd will give them "nerd superpowers", not dissimilarly from primitive tribesmen who eat their enemies' brains.

Interesting character. Is that from an LP?
I'm afraid not, would make for a fun playthrough though. The high Agility meant for dodging questions indirectly made Unarmed the highest skill however, which is not very Todd-like these days (I'm looking at you, Skyrim!).

How hard could it be to get Attributes, Skills and Traits into the same screen?

Too hard apparently. Tabs are the shit man. Moar tabs please and tabs within tabs too. Each attribute in a different tab if possible.

Hells fucking yeah; each skill and little quirk in their very own unique box. Just like the game of games up there. The joy of maneuvering that shit...

They should have made that a stretch goal and raked in millions.
