Tabs are the shit man. Moar tabs please and tabs within tabs too. Each attribute in a different tab if possible.

Hells fucking yeah; each skill and little quirk in their very own unique box. Just like the game of games up there. The joy of maneuvering that shit...
Skyrim is the perfect example of "looks absolutely beautiful, but works like shit".

Fallout filled the entire 640x480 screen with almost all player stats visible. Now these 1920x1080 Wasteland 2 screenshots could easily hold 95% of player stats, it's a complete waste of pixels. Why would I need to see the enviroment and my party when I spend skill points? Hell, even Skyrim got that part right (in the worst possible way imaginable, of course).

It's funny how even a super-low-budget thing like Dead State has a character screen and inventory that both look better and are more functional than inXile's inept efforts.

The apparent lack of item comparisons in that inventory screen is disappointing but consider that the bar's that low and inXile still can't reach it.

Bars can be useful for perspective purposes but I don't think anyone has trouble visualizing a 3 on a 1-10 scale

Come to think of it, the UI problems might go a long way towards explaining why both The Bard's Tale and Hunted: The Demon's Forge don't have any sort of inventory screen. :M

Yeah, they clearly have no experience in that department, and whoever is trying to design the UI is just copying others, first Fallout, now Shadowrun Returns, without even thinking on why they made such choices and decisions...

The retarded icons, the progress bar for a 1-10 scale, the fact that the stats appear twice in the same screen... clearly there's no plan here, just trial and error by copy.

They should just admit they have no knowledge of UX and UI design and outsourcce it, mayb even make a open call for designs, like they did with some art assets. Better than to keep wasting time and resources on sub-par results.

Why aren't they doing an updated version of the fallout character screen?

That seemed to work out just fine... :<

The Stephen Blackmoore novella has finally been released on Steam. It should be in your game directory.

The first page of that thread seems to be full of content/happy people (except for the banned dude).
Of course, I'm not very picky on the Wasteland 2 GUI either, I just don't understand why do they need to "innovate" and change things for the sake of changing. One of the biggest appeals for me with these kickstarter projects was the fact that they were old-school games made by people who worked on them before. They are spiritual sequels to old but documented genres made by people with experience, so why the fuck the need to reinvent the wheel?
Just install as many RPGs from that era, print-screen all of their stat sheets/inventory screen/combat interface and give those to the GUI guys as inspiration.

The previous one was great too. Same underlying principles and all, but it behaved differently visually. More like a big super branching organically looking tree. It was so spiffy im going to miss it regardless of the new one.
