So far it's not as rage inducing as the NWN2 camera. Sure, it's a free 3d camera so it sucks by default, but somehow seems much more controllable and responsive than the one in NWN2. I will probably get more annoying in closed spaces.
There is some weird clipping, by the way, which offers awesome views of the inside of boulders and other terrain features.

By the way, you offer Chinese as a nationality but you can't actually make a chinese looking (female) character anyway :S.

I am disappointed in the number of people complaining about such trivial shit as the size of the female characters' butts/boobs/etc. Especially given you are barely going to see those characters up close ever again.

Hahaha

Personally I think things are going in the opposite trend now. Because of the oversexualization of female characters we will start to see "reverse misogyny" where developers deliberately make their female characters more masculine - this is definitely one.

So people already comparing it to NWN2 in terms of camera movement makes me so glad I finally didn't decide to back this despite intial interest.
I've no interest in playing a camera simulator despite the rest looking ok-good (if unpolished).
I thought Fargo said they were designing levels for a fixed perspective as well, with the rotation being optional? :)

In that case I might get some hopes up :D

Torment has a fixed camera since it's using Prerendered 2d backdrops, yes

Char-gen screen is a mess. Everything is so huge, occupies so much space. Everything in char-gen could easily fit 2 screens max. They could revisit Fallout for a tight screen imo.

I like camera controls. 45° rotation with keyboard + precision rotation with mouse =

I don't like the camera itself. 3D perspective. Stuff going into camera or occupying too much screen space. For instance, citadel entrance looks plain ugly because you can never get that beautiful iconic look that you get in isometric, with more than half the structure protruding upwards. UGLY! Come on with Orthographic Projection option already!

Travel map representation is shit. Don't know how else to say it. It is just shit.

Seeing Desert Ranger star icon everywhere is stupid. We got it already. You don't have to spam it all over the interface. It is tacky.

In the good old days, you LEFT-clicked on somewhere to walk there. Why the sudden switch to right-click? It is sort of disorienting and feels silly.

Does scan do anything at all? I keep trying and so far, it doesn't seem to do anything at all.

I understand what "low-budget" means but character textures are literally shovelware grade. They look like they are from a low-budget game of 2005, not a low-budget game of 2013 where production of higher quality assets have become far quicker and easier. Is Brian trying to constrain everything in a quarter of the budget?

It is so refreshing to not have to deal with redundant dialogue lines. I love the keywords system.

Combat skills are sort of weird. Assault Rifles, SMGs, shotguns, handguns. So where does plain rifles fit?

There should be a way to scroll the log faster. Perhaps click and drag the punch holes to scroll quickly like a scrollbar?

That's not what I meant. Perhaps, like other currently designed mechanics (like sneak), fixed camera is not implemented yet.

The weird mix of different fonts and readability issues are on the list, obviously. Just not worth delaying beta over.

Waste of resources when they could be making the bestest reactive crpg.

No, it just isn't the case anymore. You do need to move the camera to explore locations and the camera lock option is out. Designs change during development. Go figure.

Bah. Bummer. Will there at least be an option to move the camera by moving the mouse to the edge of the screen? I keep doing that and it not happening makes me

:x

FeelTheRads I agree about the mish-mashing of styles. I've been suspicious about that element of the game's design from the get-go but visuals are pretty low on my list of concerns. About reading them though, I don't know. Not having any trouble myself.

Graphics aren't a big part of our budget. Oh no! Haha.

Game looks pretty good, but yeah, character models look hilarious zoomed in.

Right now you can put edge scrolling on to move the camera with mouse at the edge of the screen, or arrows. Q and E and middle mouse control camera angle. Works pretty well for me. Though it may take some getting used to. I like the two button controls too, it prevents misclicks and clearly divides different actions. Means you can't play it on tablet tho :c

Check gameplay options FFS. It's there and it's as smooth as a baby's ass.

Well, at least these fonts and their size clearly show the UI was not designed with consoles in mind. :troll:

Check the gameplay options. It's there. Should be on by default, imo.

Bummer, would have liked to play it. I just have zero tolerance for that kind of gameplay in RPGs (moving the camera around). For the same reason I can't enjoy Age of Decadence etc.

The UI scales based on resolution. They kinda tried to make something that works for both 1080p and 1024x768. Didn't really work out.

Yeah this camera is fucked, sorry but it's worse than NWN2. I don't know who's idea it was to change the design but it feels like they've suddenly gone hey guys ... this won't port very well to console, better change it so that the camera can be easily control stick controllable.

I might make a youtube video to demonstrate how bad it is.

So far I see page after page of whining about character models, UI and other assorted technical shit. All very interesting but can anyone comment about gameplay, writing, quests, reactivity and actual game content?
