I swear it’s real. It came to me. I heard it first, a crinkle popping noise… I thought it was a thief looking for a quick pay day, but then I saw it. A strange crab-like man…but so much larger.. & insanely strong.Look out, you may have a different visitor than you expect…
Sandy Claws actually... not even joking.

"In a world where the gaming industry is throwing itself shamelessly at microtransactions and battlepasses, Ted, Julian, and the team working on the Wayward Realms are leading the charge back to a bygone era where the worlds were the size of Britain and the gameplay didn't require a subscription fee."
Multiplayer coop is part of 2.000.000$ stretch goal on their kickstarter page.Wow... I tried to skip around the video for a few minutes and...

So, six months down the line from a $750k crowdfunder, they've got no dev screenshots or videos, they haven't decided whether the game will feature multiplayer or even how they're going to structure their story and AI, all they've got - much as expected - is the same sort of plans and promises waffle they had before the Kickstarter... But they DO have a merch shop now! I'm actually a little impressed with the brazen cupidity on display.

I dunno, I mean, if you can get the Desert desert in the real world, getting the Island island in a fantasy game is not such a long jump from that...Just checked out the trailer from 8 months ago.
"Ours [tale] starts on Eyjar, a remote island in the northeast"
INSTANT CRINGE
"Eyjar" is Icelandic for "Islands", so the game starts on Islands Island.
They pronounce it 'Eye-Jar', while Iceland pronounces it 'Ay-yar', as the 'J' is soft.
I know that Iceland is not a big market, but their opening moves have made the game into a joke here.
The location is called Eyjar. Like a homestead might be called Homestead. Or an abyss might be called The Abyss.Just checked out the trailer from 8 months ago.

But I understand where you're coming from. As a German speaker I find myself cringing too when I hear German words and names being used just because they might sound cool.
