Like that's something new. Damn, you're pretty slow.commie said:Hmm, TWitcher 2 will be a write off then. Had thought naively that CDProjekt would push on in the opposite direction, but with cunts like this in charge they just want to become another Bioware.
If turn-based combat games somehow sold millions of copies I think we'd read:Combat is more spectacular. The means to express it is just to make it real-time. Previously combat was more turn-based. We don't have turn-based combat right now. It's a better means of expression.
And then he'd go on about stragetic planning and tactical choices and the fact that turn-based combat allows for parties, enriching the whole experience even more. And he'd be right.Combat is spectacular, true. But the means to express it is to make it turn-based. Previously combat was in real-time. We don't have real-time right now. It's a better means of expression.

There will be boob cards, right?

No, they decided to ditch them in favour of cutscenes, ME/DA style. And I think it needs a clarification: I'm not trolling, that's really what the devs said.Quilty said:There will be boob cards, right?
The genre will be left with predefined PCs but customizable apperance, unlimited inventories and UIs with gigantic fonts and icons (or maybe no menus like in Fable 3, who knows), quest compass with on-screen reminders a la MMOs and cutscenes for dialogues. Oh, and of course multiple romance-able NPCs.

I don't want to say that the game isn't pretty lame; what I want to mean is that a RPG is a ROLE playing game. That part of ROLE is the important thing here, not estatistics or turn based combat... hell, you can even roleplay without combat.

May I recommend you Doom, my personal favorite when it comes to RPGs? That game really captures the feel of what being a lone space marine, trapped among bloodthirsty demons on Mars with no escape and no backup, would be like. As I'm sure everyone here will agree, this kind of immersion is absolutely vital for destroying the border between the player and the protagonist, which is undoubtedly the ultimate goal of role-playing games.Lomm Cuz said:I finished the first game yesterday: it sucks at combat, it sucks at almost every fucking quest of running up and down; but if the game achieves something, it will be emulating the ROLE of Geralt in the novels.
