They're all PS4 reviews. Disappointing.

They are still working on PC version and they will be working on it until release.

So I updated my PC with a new case, a gtx 970 and new fans, like the dirty fanboy I am. If that game is shit I am gonna cry.

Pretty conflicted...it's getting great reviews but so did the previous games and I wasn't able to enjoy either of them. I like the fact it's an open world game now, but it's still heavily story based which is a turn off. Also not crazy about how the combat looks with all the flipping and rolling around.

Nah, Witcher 1 and TW2 never got this kind of reviews, this is madness.

I dunno about that...seems to have gotten pretty stellar reviews:

http://www.metacritic.com/game/pc/the-witcher-2-assassins-of-kings

Maybe the 3rd installment is getting even better reviews, but it's not night and day or anything, at least to me.

It's more that Witcher 1 & 2 also got significant negative hits as well, even though the overall opinion was still positive (think DX:HR and its boss fights for an analogous example). In Witcher 2's case, it was that the game was too confusing and too hard. :M

It's early still, maybe the game will get some negative reviews as well. Either way, reading through a lot of the reviews (and watching the gameplay videos) I don't think it's a game I will enjoy. Who knows, I might end up buying it just like I did with the previous games even though I had the same reservations and against my better judgement due to the overwhelming critical/popular acclaim they got.

That was more of a Witcher 1 thing.

It seems that a lot of people are getting overly positive when it comes to rpgs these days,i mean look at PoE,Wasteland 2,they all got big ass scores yet these games were quite mediocre, 6-7 at best.

They're all PS4 reviews. Disappointing.

They are still working on PC version and they will be working on it until release.

Actually working on patches for all version - pc, xbone and ps4 regardless since that's how the multiplatform game engines works. expect regular patching for the next 3-4 months or so.

Why? the thing is that for each patch for consoles you need to get a separate cert from sony or microsoft. that means if you want to release day0 patch (aka patch 1.1), you need to submit it to them about a month before game hits the shelves (to have some leeway if you fuck up because they take another week to present you the results). So you work on day0 patch bugs when the game is 2,3 months before street date trying to fix the biggest holes in the pavement. During that time most of the production already moved to the gametesting and that is usually the end of crunch for the art teams - and since everyone is playing, the amount of bugs found on a daily basis is steadily increasing. Producers are starting to divide bugs into separate patches to avoid further crunch because some devs already forgot what they children look like, and the fucking postman is getting way too familiar with your wife's daily schedule. So if you add all those up including the first wave of millions of pre-order-players/day0-buyers/free-testers you see why the first stable build for game is usually 3-6 months after the street date. if it was only PC it would be so simple :)

also how early reviews work :

I doubt I can finish W1 and W2 till W3 is released. Why have I preordered the game again?

It's beating PoE so far on Meta critic. :M

It must be good then!

Damn! As we all know, the higher metacritic, the more scathing the Codex review will have to be. Who could be up to the task to write such a review?!

I'm not sure.. it depends how much I personally like the game. If it sucks.. VD and Roxxor. If I like the game a lot.. then I would like one of the devs from CDProjekt Red to write the review.
