"Not because she's a woman, but because it breaks the lore. Women witchers go against established facts(Gwent already ruined this with their female witchers supposedly being made in the Cat school). In the books child Ciri was supposed to be a problem child because no girl has ever been successfully made into a witcher, iirc nobody really tried, plus there were no mages wiling to do it when Ciri was at Kaer Morhen. It was ambiguous if she could even be made into one, with mortality rate strongly discouraging Geralt and co. She did take magic lessons though. And then she grew up.
Ciri is an adult. All witcher trials, changes and mutations can only be done on prepubescent children. And yet, for some RETARDED reason, she's now able to drink toxic witcher potions - potions that are DEADLY to humans, you can see real examples of potion poisoned people in games. The brain damaged girl from the prologue, or the situation where Geralt refuses to give a guy with a broken leg a potion. Or the gear hunt story with some peasant stealing a witcher's potions and accidentally offing himself. And it's not even a Swallow or Golden Oriole or some other inoffensive potion, it's Cat, the one that heavily changes your eyeballs. Eyeballs that have to be mutated to be able to take it...
Another thing, magic. Ciri is a Source, meaning she could be a sorceress, but she gave up her magic when she was dying in a desert. It was an event in the books, she can't cast normal spells, all she has is her "gift", the teleport and planeswalking. No, not even the signs would work, you need some basic magic aptitude for that, otherwise you'd have generic bandits throwing signs at you. It's another thing witcher mutations just give you, actual magicians make fun of these weaksauce spells. And Ciri was never able to throw signs even when she had access to magic.
She's a good fighter, she did train with witchers and knows about monsters, but she doesn't have a witcher's healing factor, the superhuman reflexes, senses, etc. She did eat some special mushrooms back when she was training, but those are for stimulated muscle growth and endurance in preparation for actual grasses, again, you can refer to the books.
Medallions aren't magical. The witcher's senses passively warn him of danger, and it focuses on the necklace. There's an entire chapter where Geralt works without the medallion and gets an actual magical replacement that gives him a magical decoy. It's the reason W3 Ciri wears her medallion on her belt, it does nothing for her, because her body doesn't subconsciously detect the miniscule changes in breathing or body language indicating danger.
This means the writing is going to be liquid shit that reaches for tired tropes like time travel or changing past events, or makes special chosen child Ciri so special she can freely chug gut-melting potions and cancel all her previous bad choices instead of having to live with them. An anti-thesis to what Witcher series is about.
I know the trailer isn't the final game, details might change but... Her cheeks look fat, her face, jaw, nose in general look wider. Her eyes are obviously different too.
Next, her actual gift. She's bonkers OP. W3 has the explanation that she can't just jump around wherever she wants because the Wild Hunt follows her to other worlds, but now they're gone and she can use this power freely. And it's not like she's even bad at it anymore, the elf taught her the necessary basics already. She does have a problem with her emotions turning her into a magic nuke, apparently no longer a concern. So she's a literal unstoppable goddess."
