I'm curious if they'll let Ciri fuck around like Geralt did in the first Witcher game.

You are actually retarded if you complain about her look. She's a polish woman, everyone knows they turn into baba yaga as soon as they turn 25 and older

On a serious note, having Ciri as protagonist is a strong choice. On one hand the literary saga has always been very character driven, so it makes sense to use Ciri. On the other hand, her being a witcher and using spells is lore breaking as fuck, and needs to be addressed with some satisfying explanations.

Also interesting that they called it The Witcher 4, which implies a continuity with the first trilogy
contrary to popular belief, there's no Poland in the witcher world, nor are there any Poles.
Ciri aged like milk, because w*men in general do. it's not fun to put 'realistic women' in games. what isn't fun, shouldn't be included.
why do people like Kate Archer and Lara Croft, but they don't like Alloy and Senua?

If Geralt is in the game, I bet they will turn him into weak pathetic old man that fails and then dies like Luke Skywalker or Indiana Jones.
Sapkowski had Geralt die to a peasant with a pitchfork in a spirited defense of racial minorities. Seems kind of cruel to give him that kind of bad ending again after doing a whole additional licensed-fan-fic trilogy to give him a happy ending, but it would be really funny.

By this point Sapkowski's output is the fan-fiction and the Witcher games the canon

Let's say RPG with female protag, game tries to force your char to suck off some disgusting nigger. Being an RPG, you can refuse and kill the nigger instead

If you suck the dick, you get permanent +1 CON and an unique item.

You know there never really was a choice after all.
This is actually a choice, and a decent one from RPG standpoint

You get the choice of doing something disgusting / not doing something you really want or refusing. As a result, you are getting nothing aside from a feeling of deep satisfaction, or if you don't refuse you get noice bonuses.

Aside from niggers, we can imagine some extremely obnoxious NPC in the game. Sometime, you get the chance to finally kill the fucker. If you do, you get nothing aside from aforementioned feeling of deep satisfaction. But if you don't, later he will bring you some OP items unobtainable any other way

? Ending was written waaay before games were made.
Also TW ending was ambiguous with heavy leaning "they are dead".

After circa about 20 short stories, seven novels, 3 games and 2 game-size expansions I feel like Geralt earned his retirement. If he ever appears in Witcher 4, I hope he'll be chilling with Yennefer in Corvo Bianco and sending Ciri letters with fatherly advice and bottles of wine of his own production.
Nah, he will be grizzly hermit hating witchers while getting drunk on blue milk from some demon's titty.
No country for old men.

He's saying the Witcher games have superseded the books most people haven't even read as the real canon. :P
Didn't suspend the books because CDPR aside from sketchy TW1 sticked really well to the lore. Even those TW1 problems do not retcon stuff and they did so well with it that it made sense in TW3. Like Triss trying to act like Yennefer to try emulate what Geralt likes.

The only out of place thing in TW1 is Alvin. But we can forgive it as thank to this weird case TW1 had pretty nice story + nice C&C.

It looks good to me, I guessed the 4th game was going to have Ciri as the protagonist, it makes sense. I really like Gerelt as a character, but thinking he was going to be the protag forever was wishful thinking at best. I don't mind having a new character to play as. Now I can stare at Ciri's ass for 1,000 hours instead of Gerelt's, haha.

However, the only thing that worries me is them developing the game on UE5. Hope they show us people can make good (and optimized) games on that engine and not bitch it up. And I'm optimistic they won't do that seeing as they bitched Cyberpunk 2077's release up so bad I don't think they have a choice but to release this game in a fully playable and bug-free state unless they want to actual lose money.

Final opinion: She's hot.

Last we saw Ciri she was a young woman facing her destiny. But now, as depicted in a new cinematic trailer shown at The Game Awards 2024, Ciri is a fully-fledged witcher hunting monsters for profit. Kalemba explains that, following the events of The Witcher 3, Ciri has undertaken the famously painful Trial of the Grasses which has mutated her into a powerful and resilient warrior. She’s ready to take on a whole new journey in The Witcher 4, which is the first part of a planned new trilogy of single-player, open-world RPGs.

Geralt's face typically looked different in the cinematics than his in-game model did, from what I remember. Early Witcher 3 promo material made him look older and fatter, which wasn't the case.
