I don't think anyone calling the guy a sellout, chickenshit coward or accusing him of betraying the people who enjoyed the original game and supported him is wrong really.
If its true. As he sold the company he would be taking orders and would be forced to meet any quotas they deem a requirement.

I have worked in a company that was acquired and that is exactly what happened. The old management kept their titles and maybe 50% of their power but were essentially supervised by the new management. They still had a their say but things like DEI started getting introduced bit by bit in monthly meetings, etc.

Isn't it obvious it is true? Perhaps even worse than the leaks.

If it weren't true I think he would have gone public about it. Instead he embraced the controversy, bragged about the game being banned by the saudis and then enforced reddit tier SJW moderation of every -ism that exists on their foruns.

Would he post these cryptic kike rants instead of a simple "no Henry isn't gay" if things weren't much worse than we think?

Yes the wording could be taken that way. His comments are totally off, I agree with that. However I still think its a case of wait and see, rather than get hugely outraged at this point.

It will all be very clear soon enough. Of course, any pre-purchasing is completely off the table.

I'm not outraged, but I am sad and more determined than ever not to let the communists win. And pre-purchasing should always be off the table!

ONLY PRIMARY SOURCES QUALIFY!!

If you prove the existence of a black person outside of the game's timeframe, but between the years 1000 BC and 1700 AD, I won't pay you anything but I will concede the point and admit that the possibility exists.

Come on, guys. Get to work! If it truly is plausible that a Malian doctor went to 1400s Bohemia, you'll easily find a contemporary chronicle mentioning something like that!
You, sir, are done for. Racist piece of shit.

I have managed to find an original record of a Bohemian noble requesting two black slaves in the latter half of the 15th century, when they met with the Portugese king on their travels.

Explain this, chuds. Woke front wins once again.
When we were saying our farewells, the king spoke with lord Lev very kindly and said these words to him: "I see that you come from a truly noble house and as such I beckon you to honour us and our kingdom and request whatever you wish. It shall be granted to you."

When our lord heard these words, he humbly thanked him for the honour and generosity and asked the king for two blacks.

King's brother was present and when he heard it, he burst out laughing and said: "What you ask for, friend, has no value. Ask for something bigger and more honorable than are these blacks. But if you so desire them, accept this third gift from me, a monkey, and return to your country with such a great gift. It seems," he asked " that you have neither blacks nor monkeys in your country, since you ask for them before anything else?"

I'm always telling people here that you should't buy games, and butthurt codexers always come at me like "Noooo my fav dev is based, if we give him money he will surely just make a 5x better and bigger game and won't sell out to the mainstream!!!!!!!!!"

WRONG, retard. Every single time, wrong. Money corrupts. The moment you give an artist a good taste of it, he will want more and turn into a businessman. It will never again be about making a game he wants to make, but about chasing that high he felt when the millions from his previous game started showing on his bank account. Good artist is a hungry artist. Only way to save the RPG genre is to pirate the games and keep these mfs poor, sustained only by their burning passion.

Dan Vavra is just another reminder that I'm right.

I have decided to also translate the further response of the Portugese kings' brother, since it beautifully elucidates that blacks were thought of as slaves and cattle to be sold in medieval Europe, not fucking scholars.

And when our lord confirmed that they are indeed a rare sight, the duke replied:
"In our lands, such things are in abudance. Here, the king, my brother, has three cities in Africa and sends an army to these lands each year. And they never return, not even from the smallest expedition, without bringing with them at least a hundred thousand blacks of all ages and genders. And everything that has been brought is sold like cattle. Such is the custom here that people from different countries come here and buy them. The king earns more from them, than from taxes from the entire kingdom as even a small black costs twelve or thirteen Portugese gold coins, the bigger ones are much more expensive."

It would be cool if you could have gay sex in this game, but only if the medieval reaction would be appropriately medieval.

In this case I believe both sides could appreciate the resulting persecution porn.

NPCs refusing to talk to you, trying to lynch you just because you butbuggered, to be honest I don't have a clue how gays were treated in medieval times, probably in varying ways.

I don't mind gays usually as long as no one gets coerced into anything, but all this media representation bullshit has been starting to look an awful lot like grooming.

It's interesting the kind of paranoid culture that has developed around video games in particular.

Why doesn't Dan Vavra get the benefit of the doubt?
It's the natural endpoint of years of the Great Culture War.

For years wokies have never given a shred of the benefit of the doubt to anyone. They were ready to execute anyone and everyone for the slightest infraction, even imagined, just to set a warning example.

As a result, they've cultivated an opposition that now does the same. In order to dissuade the vidya industry from participating in wokeness, forced diversity and such in any way, a growing subset of gamers takes no prisoners. KCD2 might be (most likely WILL be) an amazing game and a single African man wouldn't have been a problem 10 years ago but today, patience has run dry, tolerance is low and an example must be set.

I'm sure Vavra imagined he wrote an amazing explanation why Musa is there but regardless of how interesting and witty it is, the fact remains this kind of representation is highly unlikely, completely unnecessary and almost certainly motivated by outside pressures, despite Vavra's claims of his independence. As you said yourself, he could've easily opted for a Turk or an Arab if he just wanted to make Kuttenberg feel more metropolitan. That would be 100x more plausible and I would've accepted it completely. But no, it's a West African man. Yea, fuck off.
"KCD2 might be (most likely WILL be) an amazing game"

I'm willing to bet 100 bucks that not a single negro ever set foot into Bohemia during the years the game is set in. Not one. Not a single black person ever even came close to Bohemia's borders during that time.

Because if one did, a local monk would have noted it down in his chronicle. Medievals noted down everything remotely noteworthy in their chronicles.

1394: Count Bumblefuck fell off his horse during a trip to his villages in August. A farmer who laughed at him got put in the stocks for a day. It was very amusing.
1395: Nothing interesting happened this year. Harvest was mediocre.
1396: A strange woman went through town, dancing for no reason. Probably a witch idk
1397: The Count's son got married. A big party was had. Everyone had fun.
1398: A cow gave birth to a calf with two heads. Ominous.

Even the tiniest little noteworthy thing was written down. Had a black guy, the likes of whom nobody had ever seen before, entered the village, it would have been written down as a curious happening of the year.
But nobody ever wrote that a black man visited town. Because it never happened.

Gonna raise the stakes and say that not a single black person entered the territory of Bohemia before at least the 19th century. Not one.

EDIT:
I challenge all the defenders of the Malian in KCD2 to prove me wrong by providing serious historical sources to show that yes, indeed, a black man in medieval Bohemia is plausible.
If you can provide me with a credible source, I will concede the point. And I will be extremely generous.
Any primary historical source from anywhere between 1000 BC to 1800 AD that proves irrefutably that just one black person was physically present in the territory of Bohemia will suffice.
Contemporary chronicles, historiographies, archaeological evidence, etc. I will consider anything.

I will not consider blanket statements made by modern woke historians without backing from contemporary primary sources. If the claim is "There was a negro in Bohemia in 1438" I want a link to the chronicle from 1438 that directly mentions it. I will also not consider any arguments made ex nihilo, like "Well it's plausible that a black person once entered Bohemia on his travels, we just don't have any writings about it."
No. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary backing. Either there is a primary source written at the time it happened, or it didn't happen.
I'm not a Malian defender, but here it goes, with archeological evidence:

Yeah we know, the early britons were black, the Swedes were also black. Beethoven was black. The gladiators were black, and so were the Roman emperors. Discoveries by Shlomo Goldstein.

Honestly, all of you pissed about this but were excited about the game beforehand got what you deserve. Vavra being a kike has been open knowledge for what, almost a decade? You slipped up because you thought would be good & BASED game, we all slip up sometimes in naivety and childlike excitement, but welcome back to reality.

Yeah this one is way too speculative for my taste. They use language like "may have been" which is inaccurate as fuck.
They called for a DNA analysis, and until that arrives, I remain skeptical on this one.
