Contextual actions are so awesome that i always ask for permission from anyone near me before I jump.

Viktoria = who? b1skit? What's this stuff about anti-depressants?

Apologies Codex, but I haven't really been following the Thi4f drama.

Viktoria, the artist formerly known as MyImmortal, is an EM apologist who cannot into logic.

I don't know if Viktoria is an official employee if Eidos, but if she is, come on, what do you expect? It's her job to try her best to put a positive spin on things and help keep the community happy. Obviously she's not doing a great job, but the quality of the game is out of her hands. What do you expect her to say, "yeah, this game is gonna suck balls, you shouldn't buy it"? Of all people responsible for the Thief debacle, I think picking on the community managers is just kind of low.

They're just doing the same thing people did to Stanley Woo and Chris Priestly over at Bioware for years.

She's frequently guilty in the past of derailing threads and taking administrative actions where constructive discussions were taking place because, to her, an argument is a nasty, violent thing where mommy and daddy throw things and not an exchange of sometimes exclusive ideas.

To be fair, community managers can defend company's product in a polite and professional manner, but instead many go to some illusionary power trip and are starting to believe that they are superior beings. And so they start to lock threads which contradict the party line, throw epic tantrums because of littlest things, subtly or not-so-subtly insult users, etc. On a plus side - they'll work even if you don't pay them. E.g.: Bioware forums:

I imagine that most of the Eidos' mods are cut from the same cloth, comes with the job, really.

Who cares what mods do? It's irrelevant. The game will tank because already limited group of stealth fans is fragmented on Thief fans, Metal Gear Solid fans, Splinter Cell fans, etc. So, the small market Thiaf aims at is further alienated by fundamental changes in design, and those changes are there because it's essentially a passionless project. Even if it's a decent game in general, it's going to tank. Because of that, I wonder why is anyone losing time trying to discuss the game at official forums? It's like trying to start a debate on middle eastern politics at a White House press conference.

The marketing seems to go more after the Assassin's Creed crowd though, so who knows. The story seems more like a Fable ripoff. However, they would have to turn around the view of the gaming press for this to work. That will be difficult to achieve with a cost overrun, given Squenix's financial state.

Playing through Splinter cell blacklist now, and you can't jump. You can only jump when contextual indications on screen appears, for example a ledge on a wall or an opened window. It works in the case of splinter cell, and as anothe example, you couldn't jump in hitman games either. That being said, I can't understand how these mods that are thiaf defenders aren't able to mention splinter cell or hitman as examples, instead they try to explain with nonsense. Are they forbiden to talk about the competitors?

Two different beast. You never really needed to jump in previous Splinter Cells either, except if you jump in a window. But in Thief, there was a lot of opportonity in climbing up to windows, ledges and hard to reach places. The levels were designed in a way to encourage free exploration.

Well, in the original splinter cells, you could jump anywhere, without visual cues. The point here is how thiaf defensors can't even use such exemples in modern games about the jump situation. And even if thiaf had this ability of jumping anytime, probably it wouldn't be a different beast anymore when compared to splinter cell. Anyway, thiaf is doomed.

Well, I was playing off Prince, but apparently she's a shitty poet, too? IDK if that's same person.

Let's just say moderation of EM forums and even a possibility of psychic problems don't mix well.

Does that accurately describe MyImmortal (the 52 and welsh part)?
