Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
It's supposed to evoke traditional Greek guitar music. A not uncommon videogame soundtrack trope. Another example, from Expeditions Rome:

If they want to evoke antiquity they should go for an actually ancient-sounding soundtrack like Europa Barbarorum

Codex Year of the Donut Serpent in the Staglands Dead State Divinity: Original Sin Project: Eternity Torment: Tides of Numenera Wasteland 2 Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 A Beautifully Desolate Campaign Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Kingmaker Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
What we think of as "ancient-sounding" music is mostly a LARP unfortunately. Knowledge of how music actually sounded before the Middle Ages is very fragmentary.

I like that the combat and movement seems to be a lot slower and methodical than other games in the genre. Gives me hope it's not going to be just another Diablo II clone click fest. Smaller mob sizes adds to this hope, and implies encounters may be more deadly and require more thought than attack/ability spam. Shame about the color-coded random loot, but I 100% expected it would be in. The game is gorgeous and the art direction is fantastic, but no surprise there. I'm sure the level design will be handcrafted as well.

Looking forward to this! Hopefully we get a demo with save data that will carry over to the full game.

Titan Quest is pretty underrated music-wise. Too bad the music doesn't last long.

It wasn't great but it didn't suck either.

The greek stuff is pure windows dressing. All these Diablo-clones play exactly the same.
Titan Quest has so many potential with mythology, because it's so under-developed in games. It could be much more if not for the diablo clone aspect, I believe.

Gameplay footage looks better than it did in the trailer but still looks "budget" and "floaty". I hope they're able to turn it around somewhat and increase the enemy density.

Does not look good. I have no idea why would anyone play this over PoE2 or even D4..

Mythology is the most interesting setting in a diablo-like, which allows much more appealing maps in the game than dried out maps of PoE or Diablo. Also monsters of legends are iconic.

The mastery system of the original is great, so I'm still tentatively interested. If I hear that the combat feels a bit meatier than it looked in the demo I'd be willing to at least level a character and see if the content is any good.

Hmm, not sure about this one so far.
I played through the 1st one a few times, only finished it once though.
I'm not sure I like the direction they're going for. I think they should have tried to be more unique, add in some more interesting features because the competition is fairly hard now. You have poe 1, diablo 4 which is decent I hear, grim dawn, last epoch, etc...
If you want more soulslike experience, there's plenty of those too I see here and there.

So I think they should've tried harder with the gameplay innovation, to me it kinda looks like they're going for a soulslike + diablo approach, so less mob density but more challenge per mob. Which is fine, but it's not a foreign concept and has been done before, technically the 1st diablo was like this.

I'm trying to think of what they could have done differently... I think they should have actually tried the dungeon siege approach, that hasn't been done in a long while. Sort of create a lite arpg, but add in recruitable allies that you can control as a whole or individually. Over the course of the game you gain more and more and can eventually have a possy going around, maybe cap it to like 8 people, each one being able to be a different class.
Imagine playing as like your own "elite" unit of spartans, etc...

Let me rephrase it: if you like gameplay, why even play games that play like Diablo?

They're too simplistic and repetitive to be fun.
Nah, they are complex enough to be fun unlike dark soul shit where it is a rolling simulator.

It's fun in the latter half of the game when you have access to more than 2 skills and can activate more than 4 buttons.

Even in endgame PoE you use the same 3 buttons if you exclude the perma buff that reserve your mana. Zoom cast skill, shit exploded.

Leap Slam, 2 warcries, Main skill. Frost Bomb for boss battles. So I guess 5 buttons. And then 5 potions, I had them mostly automated but some people do not.

And there are people who enjoy this, sounds like working in a Chinese factory, i.e repeating the same thing over and over again.
