Were you guys surprised by this? Torment's unorthodox design makes it the only IE game that appeals to people who don't necessarily even like oldschool RPG's. I look forward to the inevitable poll about making Torment a first-person shooter.

How do you make an informed decision when there's only like one update with two paragraphs about combat?

P. damn pointless

Voted TB for justice and glory. Fuck man. How the hell is this thing so close?

Q: "Would you like shit or good?"

A: "Hmmm, tough decision..."

Look how much money the Transformers movies have made, and it's clear the standard answer is shit.

Hey, can someone tell me what "flow" is supposed to be, in the context of a video game? Because TB combat seems to break this for some people. Is there a device or formula to measure this "flow."
there's a formula to measure flow.
The amount of popamole features X every time the developer used the word immersion² = flow

Of course Final Fantasy uses TB all the time but I honestly have more fun with the combat in Baldur's Gate in comparison, and ah I'm not really into Final Fantasy.

I hate turn based combat. I prefer the way it was done in games like IWD, BG and NWN. If the game is turn based like The Lord of the Rings The Third Age and Final Fantasy... my immersion gets broken, which in turn ruins the entire RPG for me.

LMFAO! See? See?! I told you all! Like clockwork, bitches. I don't even have to try anymore. These people deliver the retardo straight to my door!

Please, somebody put these people on blast. The world cannot bear so much shortbus. Do they even Wizardry, bro?

They're right though. Final Fantasy (the first one) was turn based :M

But I'd like to point out that while RTwP cannot rise above mediocre, it's much easier to make an okish system.
TB lives of of several different viable options and tactical decisions in any combat situation that will also differ with different encounters/situations. If the system just lets you bull through every encounter and every round with the same actions, then it sucks.
So basicically on a scale of 1-10 where 10 is best and 1 is shit the ranges (imo) would be:
RTwP: 3-6
TB: 1-10

As we see with PE, nearly every new bit of information about the game leads to some kind of shitstorm, with lots of accusations, tantrums and ultimatums thrown around. That's just how it is with the RPG crowd, it seems. It's an opinionated bunch where many see their own subjective views as incontrovertible facts and rationality is quite rare.

This guy gets it.

Voted TB. Looks like we're ahead by 175 Votes. Surprising but very cool.
