The NDA lifted on unit stats. Imrik seems strong as hell (an HE version of WAAGGHH?). The new HE archer RoR debuffs additional fire damage, which could synergize well with other HE units.

I listened to Turin's breakdown, but I am sure there are multiple videos on youtube.

Imrik has:
  • Anti-large as a footlord (and on horse?).
  • Lord of Dragons: 30 second hex, -24 melee defense and -40 melee attack.
  • Dragon Horn: 16 second map-wide buff, +24 melee attack and units cause fear.
  • Starlance: 29 second self-buff, fire damage, 25% weapon damage, 50% charge bonus, 22% weakness to fire.
  • Dragon mount that gives fire damage, 580 weapons strength, and of course breath attack.
Starting to think this guy should have been the opposite to Malus, since he seems like a (better) shock-damage lord.

"Expert Charge Defense: All" - This mean that archers will deadstop heavy cavalry? That'll be hilarious.

Grom's perfect vigor for chariots should be great so long as the chariots themselves are good. Still... the usual issue of 2 out of every 3 battles being sieges and cav/chariots being useless during sieges.

EDIT:

Really like how the Rogue Idol and Pump Wagons are specialized anti-heavy infantry. Rogue Idol looks like it will be hilarious, just a mountain belly flopping on entire units. Will probably be tier 5 though.

The Greentide will meet the Dawitide on more even grounds now. Also, if I recall correctly, Grom will have access to a Rogue Idol through a campaign item, which should become available relatively early (well, relative to tier 5).

The mass of the heavy cav will still go right through them, but the charge bonus would be negated, yes. With archer HP pools, though, it barely matters - the h-cav would melt them very quickly in melee. I guess it does buy precious seconds.

My understanding is that it's normal charge defense that negates charge bonus. From what I've heard Expert charge defense reflects it somehow.

Normal charge defence is against large units. Expert charge defence is against all units. I might be wrong, but I think the deflection stuff is all speculation. In-game, the difference between the two (in terms of what the game tells you) is that expert charge defence = charge defence against all.

Empire Spearmen - 'When bracing, this unit negates the charge bonus of any large attacker' (Charge Defence)

Empire Halberdier - 'When bracing, this unit negates the charge bonus of any attacker' (Expert Charge Defence)

Charge defense against all is a separate modifier, some units have it. Wouldn't make much sense to have two separate modifiers the do the same thing.

'Charge Defence Against All' is what it says in green on the unit card, but it is provided by Expert Charge Defence.

Preview image for Imrik

He has special dragons:

Frenzy, constant chill aura, regeneration, stalk (on a forest dragon?), etc. He also gives useful bonuses to cavalry...unlike Malus.

Insert Title Here My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.

Nice that he is a Free LC lord too. Dragon spam is very strong for HE as it is, you just need life mages to support. Just won a VH campaign with Teclis, gonna try to do my first Legendary HE run with Imrik. I know Tyrion is basically the easiest one for Legendary, but he just seems boring both lore- and gameplaywise.

I am tempted to try Imrik first. There is a landmark building near Imrik's start position that buffs dragon princes and allows recruitment at tier 3. Dragon princes as a tier 3 unit seems nice, even though higher difficulties tend to heavily favor ranged units.

Actually Vampire Coast is by far easiest Legendary I've done, it's a LAUGHABLY easy Legendary run, it's the first one I did for achievement and I was under zero threat the entire game and the final battle was a joke.

By far the strongest/easiest legendary game is as Ikit Claw. No other lord is remotely close.

- Skaven inherent ability to spawn level 4/5 settlements with food 50 turns before any other faction can grow them. You have constantly overflowing food anyway due to the number of battles you fight, both enemy and rebel.
- Multiple Engineers magnify absurd stacking bonuses to all of your ranged shit.
- Basically everything about the Ikit Workshop is OP and stacks beautifully with Engineers. Super-powered infinite ammo ratling guns with 1300 DPS per model (I think this is technically inaccurate and it doesn't take into account how long it takes the gun to fire, but its still absurd). Jezzails that have enough range to snipe enemy lords across the map as soon as battle starts. Warpfire throwers that also annihilate large units along with small.
- If anything ever looks like it might go bad, drop a nuke lol.
- Skaven Infinite money exploit once you get to 13 settlements.

Seriously just look at these stats:
OK I take it back, full-gun skaven has to be by far the most OP once you get going. Multiple Engineers + Ikit Claw workshop = absurd bonuses. Let me just compare the stats w/ 4 engineers to the "balanced" standard values.

fE04lux.jpg

Note that this is before the engineers use their AoE bonus to decrease reload time further (though min is 2s so ratling guns don't benefit) and give insane accuracy. After doing this the warp lightning guns had 3.3k DPS and sniped Malekith out of the sky in about 5 seconds from half a map away. Also kind of amusing is how they have a really high speed, so you can skirmish a whole army to death with warpfire throwers if you want. And their ammo is basically limitless at this point.

Granted, there are some other campaigns that can just be cheesed. Brettonian lords other than Repanse can basically reach their chivalry cap and end the game just by farming rebels caused by the starting public order penalty event.

No mention of the Black Orc Big Boss spotted in the streams. I guess they could release it part of the Skulls for the Skull throne thing.

Kek. In addition to the special dragons, Imrik apparently also receives a special trait for each dragon tamed, which include additional breath attacks on every dragon factionwide, perfect vigor, regeneration, and additional stats.

So the various Lord packs add in new mechanics?
basically, are any of them worth buying?
