Warhammer Total War: Warhammer 2

A horse of course

40-unit armies have been possible since Empire with a quick save edit at the start of each new campaign.

How is this relevant to TW:WH2, where it's not possible with a quick save edit at the start of each new campaign? If they introduced an editor-level capacity to import new models/animations, would you be like 'pfft, that's been there since Med 1'?

No one is suggesting this is revolutionary for the Total War franchise...

I don't see the point of adding even more units to Warhammer stacks since battles are already very micro-heavy.

Bigger stacks for horde armies (in terms of lore, not the Horde factions in the game) > micro. If you're fighting Skaven/Orcs, you should be badly, badly outnumbered as the Elves or the Dwarves. Yet, you seldom are.

most of the new orc units are already in game with mods,

Neither the Pump Wagons nor the Rogue Idol is in any mod I'm aware of, and those are your headline new Greenskin units.

Certainly not the War Lions/WL Chariots, either. I agree that the LLs are available through Mixu (Grom isn't, but Eltharion/Imrik are, yes).

How is this a) not more popular, and b) more prominent?

I stand corrected.

Not good enough. You owe me an apology. Right now.

What I really want are faction-specific army limits.

Something like:

Skaven - 40
Orcs/Vampires/Chaos - 30
Empire/Bret/Lizardmen/TK - 20
Elves/Dwarves - 15

The higher unit counts for the evil factions would also alleviate some of the issues associated with chaff armies/lightning strike.

40 Doomwheels? 29 chosen?

:bounce:

This would need unit caps and a massive rebalance, I don't think they'll do it.

Skaven and vampires feel swarmy enough with their summons, could probably be revved up a bit more.

To balance that out, 35 out of 40 Skaven regiments would have to be slaves or clanrats. This would lead to armies which would be both boring and hard to control.

Someone on reddit posted the Imrik selection panel. He starts with a dragon, white lions, and a unit of dragon princes. His starting province apparently has a landmark building that allows recruitment of dragon princes at tier 3. His campaign mechanic is to...tame special dragons?

I am on the prowl for patch notes.

The scrap upgrades seems similar to DoW 3’s ork mechanics, but I like this version more.

Also, with all the additional factions CA added to the Badlands, hopefully it will take time for the Dwarves and/or the Greenskins to snowball.

Allright time to pour cold water on our dreams: the scrap system for greenskins is a great framework for mods, but don't expect much of it on release. There is only 2 options for most units and the choice tends to be a no brainer so yeah don't expect much customization there, these are all toys for modders to dabble with and make the system into something interesting.

Otherwise saw a unit not advertised in the trailer that I do want in all my greenskin armies asap: giant lava/fire spiders.

No, that's the FLC mount for Great Shamans. The lava giant spider is recruitable during Waaghs for armies in volcanic regions (in limited numbers). Sort of like the Empire's Electorate units.

Between my dreams of a giant lava spider army in ruins and the scrap system being basic, that’s my enthusiasm for the dlc completely squashed.

Ah well it’s probably for the best, would have needed to wait for SFO and other mods to be updated anyways.

They are able to programm smart AI and whatever they want but that costs money and gives nothing in return.
Imagine the buttmad negative rewiews in steam about how " the gaem is dificult 0/10".

They cannot implement a proper AI, for example in Shogun 2 computer controlled opponents simply cheat by creating units out of thin air under the cover of fog of war.

Most outrageous thing in Shogun 2 was diplomacy.

Insert Title Here My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Is the greenskins rework part of the free patch or part of the DLC?
I see both versions stated and the official FAQ doesn't help.

The rework comes free with the patch. There's also a new HE lord as free DLC and a giant spider mount for the goblins also free, but requires you to register on Total War Access.

The way Markus buffs huntsman in the campaign is nuts. I initially ignored them in favor of other units, but that was a huge mistake. When I had difficulty with the final battle, I changed tactics to have 5 huntsman plus the RoR version, grinded for the 2-3 huntsman buff traits, and tried the final battle again. Those things deleted Nikai and other Lizardmen in the final battle. I feel like I played the Markus campaign wrong until the final battle....

Now I need to catch up on Vampire Coast and Repanse.

So, Greenskins sound great. Any word about what the high elf part is adding? Not that I'm much of a high elf fan (Tyrion's holier than thou greeting every time you go to the new campaign screen can fuck right off)

Not as much relative to the GS rework. From what I recall, Eltharion will have a dual start similar to Malus, a landmark building that will buff Ulthuan, and some HE ROR on steroids.

I am hoping will hear more details tomorrow. It seems like the NDA on Eltharion has not lifted yet.

Looking like the most content rich DLC since Norsca with an amazing long overdue rework for best faction. I heard they improved turn times even further.. I can finally play this game

Grom's Cauldron looks fun. We'll probably see something similar for Ogre Kingdoms
