Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
What helmet are you rocking with on your spearmen? And what is the AP on your crafted Riot Armor? I have 52 with Regen vest. kevlar, burrower shield, and reinforced fabric, which is way higher than I thought it would be.

NVG detection goggles, always. I go for versatility and mobility with this guy: riot gear with TiChrome riot shield, pig boots with high-density padding and spring, total armor penalty currently 41%, 42 MP. Once I get near to level 30, I'll have 3 more Agility and Strider, so I'll have 54+ MP; might be able to hit 60.

Speaking of spear guys, the way to wreck Death Stalkers (and every other stealth melee guy) late game is Fend. You see, you can keep Fend up 99.9% of the time while walking around in real time, the only small delay being the time it takes to spam the hotkey.

Flares? Molotovs? Detect them before they can detect you? Nah dawg, literally stand in one spot and press Fend until they appear, uselessly whip their gay shitty little stinger against your invincible spear, then perforate them and rip out their glands to poison your throwing knives with.
How have you been dealing with big groups of ranged guys? The Ironhead portion with Balor has been really rough, and I just decided to leave it and come back to it when I have a few more levels under my belt (13).

I think a better distinction between skills would be small guns big guns, like fallout did it

crossbow ar and sniper, shotgun in one category

all pistols and smgs in the other

that way they are at least split someone evenly

maybe have a light crossbow

this also lines up better for which attributes will be important for each group of weapons

I took out some of those guys around that level through careful navigation, grenades, and use of corners, but came back around level 19-20 to actually finish them all off.

Well, I think I just had the most unexpectedly effective LoC + Enrage usage in all my playtime. I was on the mission to retrieve the statue from the Lunatics for entrance to the University. At the top floor, there's two Lunatics at a fire on the south-east side, and a third patrolling Lunatic sometimes comes on screen. So I cast Locus of Control and enrage on those three. I run downstairs and wait in stealth for the fighting to end. When I came back, it's a massacre, the whole fucking floor is dead. The last two Lunatics living are Frost and Firecracker in a fist fight to the death. I have no clue what happened. I assume it involved several badly missed pyrokinesis attempts. Yeah, this was absurd and surprising, considering the enemies were very spread apart and I only hit three with enrage.

Are the benefits from Armor Sloping and Power Management retroactive to previously crafted gear or?

Nope.

I have a question of my own. Batteries' context menus offer an option to recharge a "large energy storage device." If I select this option while on the shore, the game will allow me to interact with my parked jet ski, but my guy appears to walk in slow motion and then nothing happens.

In order to recharge my jet ski, it seems I have to disembark, remove the vehicle battery into my own inventory, recharge it as normal, and then replace the vehicle battery.

Am I missing something? Does that option exist only to charge other dead jet skis while on the water?

You can recharge the jet ski this way, but it seems to be buggy (probably fucked pathing or something), because sometimes I managed to power the jet ski this way, other times I needed to remove the battery and recharge as normal.

Blaine I'm stealing your spear build and changing it up a little bit.
http://underrail.info.tm/build/?AQoFBgcDAwYADwAPAAAADw8ADwoFBQUFAAAADwAACE8
Lowered Will down to 3 because I can metagame persuasion checks and IDRC about mercantile. Lowered intelligence to 6 because I don't think PM is worth it, and pumped strength a little early. I'm thinking of maybe taking Nimble to give even more movement points, and I think I might level agility up a little bit early too since strength is already at 10. We'll see how it goes.

It's a good build. The only annoyance is that you're kind of stuck in riot armor, although you'll only lose out on a couple of feats and spec points if you choose to wear something else for a while.

I think I regret taking Armor Sloping instead of Nimble. It probably only makes sense to get the former if you've already got the latter.

Don't be so quick to ignore Mercantile, either. A decently high Mercantile can save you tens of thousands of charons on jet ski purchases alone, for example.

So for a non stealthy, non pistol user, it's pmuch just an energy field bonus, got it.

It's great for shield emitters, which are the single best defensive item in the game, so that alone makes it worthwhile. You'll also be able to get ten charges out of high-quality electric spears before they're out of juice, rather than only eight.

However, it's also great for moneymaking when combined with high Mercantile, because energy capacity has a dramatic effect on the value of all electronic weapons and items. Currently, I can purchase all of the parts for any powered item (cloaking device, shield emitter, energy pistol, etc.; it's important not to use any very low-quality components, though, as they'll drag the others down) from a merchant, assemble the finished product, and then sell that product back to the merchant for a substantial profit. That's a pretty nice perk, because electronic equipment is rare to find in loot, and of course you need to relieve all merchants of their entire stock of charons as frequently as possible in order to furnish your mansion and assemble your jet ski fleet.

Cant you recharge "large energy storage device" while on water? You only have to disembark for repairs afaik.

So, what's the best leather armor for stealthy character?
I was interested in making some slick snakeskin jacket from heartbreaker leather, but then i found out it's so slick it lowers your stealth.

Just rolled three 140-150 quality supersteel hockey pucks.

I seem to recall trying that and seeing only a crossed-out icon indicating that it wasn't allowed, but I'll check again later after work.

I haven't played Psi heavy dude since like 2015, and decided to lulzroll ZHANG LU, the 8DEX/8CON/10WIL psi-monk that doesn't believe in computers (or hacking), dodging (or evading), talking (or haggling), and goes 4 psi disciplines + pickpocket, lockpick, intimidate.

Hard/Oddity, Level 7-8, basically cleaned out Depot A with 0 reloads except one fight where I decide to take on 3 Mutants and 6 dogs in an open field because I can't be arsed going the long way.

Pyromaniac + Fire stream spell basically melted all the mutants, and a strong overcoat from the Junkyard dealer (no acid resist) meant I could facetank mutie-gunners.

It's so crazy that heavy Psi is so versatile it can do almost anything other characters can, and then do it roughly as well. Sentry bots? Pfft. Turrets? Can stun & run past. Mutants? Burned and stunned and bashed.

Not exactly super-optimising the guy so we'll see how he does as it goes on. Ain't going to bother with Black Sea at all now.
If you think you have it easy now, wait till you get the haste spell.

I'll never understand why it was quick tinkering (of all feats) that got hit by the patch. Meanwhile temporal psi is basically magical steroids.

Switch to DOMINATING if you want any semblance of a challenge.

Naga protectors, what the fuck. I'm ditching my shitty crossbow in favor of rapid reloader spearhead. I hope non-specialized versatility will be enough to let me successfully destroy these fuckers with armor-piercing rounds.
IDK even know how I'm going to deal with them with this spear build. I'll probably just meta game their positions and set up a bunch of traps.

My combo to kill them before they do anything is: mk1 emp grenade -> expose weakness -> telekinetic proxy -> implosion -> impale -> if they somehow survived all this, spear throw

My combo to kill them is: acid blob trap mk2, shoot them with crossbow (deadly snares), realize that i'm doing pitiful damage, lie on the ground and cry.

What bolts are you using and do you have critical power? I remember being able to kill Nagas with crossbows using rusting acid bolts with critical power and elemental bolts. I didn't have MK III shock bolts to use but those do even more damage to most enemies. Also, if you are a pirate with high mercantile and chemistry...

Katya will sell you corrosive acid.

I have both critical power and elemental bolts feats, as well as a couple of dozens mk3 shock bolts. No rusting acid bolts though, I thought it's Deep caverns exclusive item (since corrosive acid drops from deep worms).

Expedition enraged me so much that I planned to go full pyromancer but alas I'm burned out on UR.
