Unless stopped, Infinitron will destroy RPG CODEX

Nowadays i don't even read the news section because it's just that boring. I remember when Vault Dweller (i think it was him) used to post news and mock Bethesda. Even some of the indie devs were mocked like the dev of Scars of War (dead game). My memory is fuzzy to remember everything, but those were the days. I used to lurk a lot back then.

I'd love to read some of these gems again but can't seem to find the news archive.
What does VD have against Front Mission 5?

Eh, some console game? I meant Scars of War 1st person rpg that was cancelled years ago.

Cancelled, presumably, to avoid lawsuit from Square Enix:

Anyway, they seem to have erased all traces of their misdeed from the Internet. I have no idea what game you're talking about.

Infinitron didnt destroy RPG codex alone

first of all everything is going to shit and politics is spreading everywhere

secondly codex team is filled with lazy old farts like DU who are declining mentally

so Infinitron just put the last nail in the coffin. I dont blame him for having shit taste but he loves to suck dicks of developers

Finding good titles in this steaming pile of bovine shit industry is a gruelling task,to say the least. While promoting indies is all well and good, indies can also be pretty shit. I think there should be a "filter" of sorts,to determine whether a title is worth it or not. Is it "oldschool" with heavy focus on good combat mechanics? Is it bug free? Does it have good character development allowing for a wide range of builds? These sorts of things.

The filter is that we don't listen to new accounts on the codex

The old internet is dying

RPG Codex in 2026 will be Infinitron showing headlines on tiktok while doing silly dances to keep the zoomers' attention span engaged

Sounds good until you realize the filter is just the News Posting guy's personal taste, which means you're back to where you started. There is not even an agreement on what a RPG is, so this is hopeless. The only thing that comes close to a solution for the unhappy people is multiple news posting guys so more tastes are covered and you read the ones you like better. (and even then you'll have people clicking on every thread to complain about "why are you posting this shit")

That also sounds good until you realize the people with high standards are usually not very interested in being a filter for plebs with worse taste than them that won't appreciate it. Reminds me of those conversations with taxi drivers where the guy tells you how he'd solve the country's problems in a week (world hunger too if it's a long trip) but he never gets to the point of how he'd actually do it

Codex 2016 - The Age of Grimoire Make the Codex Great Again! Grab the Codex by the pussy Codex Year of the Donut Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Many Codexers expressed their enthusiasm for Monomyth and would like report on it. Monomyth is but one example. Underrail:Infusion, Zodiac Legion, Urban Strife, Archaelund, Vampire Gangs of Moonfall, next ATOM and Battle Brothers teams games are but few more. All these Devs post on Codex and are friendly to Codex. Zero have been contacted by Managment in order to promote them, have interview, AmA, exclusive video, BETA/DEMO keys or discussion.
That is interesting when you think about it. I mean, Codex still have pull. Could probably get a lot of juicy exclusive content going if there was a will for it. Instead of just endless repeated news post which you can read everywhere else.

The natural life cycle of communities, societies and civilisation is scalable and apply even to forums like the Codex. The period of initial vitality is gone and through a shift in members in combination with the most repugnant kind of exogamy, the essence has faded to a point where sophisticated passion projects such as Jettatura that would have not just appealed to the older userbase but would have been reason for heated debate, in-depth reviews to be made, and been put into contrast against other offerings of the medium are now lucky to get a front page presskit pity post. The desolation of the front page mirrors the hollowing out of the discourse within the forums, which has gotten so bad that political engagement beyond surface level shitposts and passive-aggressive rating slap fights is now impossible, never mind the harrowing state of video game debates, which used to be cantankerous but rather prestigious, not so anymore.

Some have made the case that while Infinitron has been at the helm it these issues have not been obviated, but worsened, especially after much too honest reviews on launch for titles were purposefully delayed and contributing writers were pushed away from it. Returning however to my original point this is where I break with The Wall, for I have seen the same cycle on numerous websites already, with or without the Hebraic influence. You can see what awaits if you go to GameBanshee right now. Infinitron is not the root of this disease, rather yet another symptom aggravating it, like so many of DU's decisions.

Nevertheless...

I tend to think if people want to do Infinitrons job they can they just won't get the staff credit they want along with it. I saw someone post a review as such but they got butthurt when everyone did not suck their dick.

And the Codex didn't conform to the kike-tranny internet as a matter of self-defense, as Infinitron likes to boast. It happened because several of the admins here are literal closeted homosexuals with their own political agenda.

Oldtimers say that Infihudi was doing this shit since the beginning of his tenure - seek relevant MCA quote for proofs.

This is why people single him out
