Rubedo: The Occult Dawm. Open-world, C&C, TB-combat where you combine spells

I see only vile sorcerors in this game...Sullen, wispy wizards who would blow over if I sneezed on them. No manly warriors? Barbarians, knights of high valor?

This is out and it's good.

What makes it good? Looks sort of like a million other pixel art games. What makes it stand out to you?

Interconnected world with Metroidvania-like exploration. Decent combat (think Drova but worse). Many things copied straight from Dark Souls. Fishing :)

Nice mechanic: If you do damage then you gain water and you can use that water to heal yourself even during boss fights. Similar to Bloodborne but different because it doesn't encourage an aggressive style.

I would say that the game is actually mediocre until now (4h) but I like the fact that it feels like a honest attempt from a small dev (perhaps a solo dev).

I take it back. It's garbage.

The first 2 hours are fun but then ... I got lost and everything went to shit: OP enemies everywhere, the story is non-existent and the game world design is retarded.

I lost like 2 hours trying to find the "intended" path but it's like searching a needle in a haystack. Critical items are random all over the map. It's retarded.

To cut it short: It's a disjointed mess. Don't waste your time.

Does it seem like an overhead shooter or something else? Best shooter I played you kept your armament, money, status etc. It was too short of a game.

Overhead shooter, there is a bunch of different weapon types and even different "dashes".

One of the main gimmicks is the ability to "alter reality" of your items. So far in the demo it is mostly used for some minor stat boosts or to make a gun you looted from the dreadnaught fit on your ship.
There is also level-up system but i am not sure if you keep your levels between playthroughs. Stopped playing the demo shortly after levels were introduced.

My main concern with the roguelite aspect is the average length of a single playthrough. Something tells me it's not going to be short enough, it also seems that you will be repeating the same dialogues and story bits a bunch of times.
