You need to be a certain generation to be able to get 3 dots in any Discipline. IIRC (and it has been a while), at character creation you basically have to dump most of your points to lower your generation to about 9th or 8th, and you really won't have much left over to get 3 dots in anything.

Not really. You need to be certain Generation to go above 5 dots. But at character creation you have 3 dots available in total.

When I played the game, I was a mage who was sucked into the world of vampires, mages and garou, so I am more conversant with mage rules than vampires ones.

Don't you have like 75 points that you can use to buy Disciplines normally but you dump most of that to lower your gen?

Oh no, that is what backgrounds are for. You can go down to 8th Generation using just the points reserved for the backgrounds. You do get 15 "freebie" points to spend as you will and these will net you up to 2 more Discipline dots, but that totals at a paltry 5. To sacrifice 3(!) of those solely to be able to move around is a rather daunting expectation. That is why daveyarsegallant's idea is superior.

Yeah. I recall not even bothering with Nos and Malk for obvious reasons in a TT game with three different groups in it. Settled for a Life/Mind Mage and with the long term goal of permanently augmenting the hell out of my character's physical and mental stats. I do recall picking up Forces early on and started creating inertia barriers to stop bullets and other physical attacks during combat. The Storyteller threw a fit because my relatively newbie mage was basically more unkillable than his long term vampire and garou playing friends.

Its not fun to play nozzies unless everybody avoids you like a sweaty neckbeard at prom night.

Giving them a free pass makes them unfun and its decline i think, like being a malk but you're only crazy when you want to be.
You could have mask of a thousand faces, but i feel that it should be something late game or something that you severely handicap yourself to get it early.

Hoodies its good, but i feel like there should be a penalty or wearing them(messes up your vision or everybody thinks you're a poorfag so they treat you like shit)

Well, obviously hoodies/iron masks/gimp masks/whatever still prevent you from using your Appearence attribute. The Mask of a Thousand Faces, however, allows you to fake an Appearence.

I really doubt it is Petroglyph, not that they arent competent, they are really competent RTS developers maybe the best in the indie scene but they dont look like a first choice for a first person Desu Ex game with vampires. Unless Paradox is that desperate for competent people that the first they find, they go with it.

guys guys: nobody can tell you're a Nosferatu if you walk around with a hoodie and mandatory anti-covid mask

why else do you think Camarilla has made masks mandatory everywhere and at all times in this past year?

Maybe it is a ploy to expand the nosferatu spy network but Merkel herself doesnt need a mask because, she being a methuselah, grants her 10 points on obfuscate what makes you ask, if even having 10 dots on obfuscate she still looks like she does, how bad is she without it?

10 is available only to the Antideluvians. But she can still net a respectable 9.

A Glassdoor epilogue from a few days ago:

Former Employee, more than 3 years
Going nowhere
Apr 27, 2021 - Anonymous Employee

Pros

Some of the nicest people you'll ever meet.

Unlimited Vacation time

Ok benefits

Team leads were very good, not sure about studio leadership though.

Cons

Mostly third party projects with very little ownership or opportunities for advancement.

Low compensation compared to similar studios in the area.

Very high turnover, 1 or 2 people submit notices every week. This isn't normal for a studio of this size.

Ever since the big name project ended it feels like the studio is on life support.

Would recommend for someone beginning their career, can't recommend for anyone else.

Is "unlimited vacation" a euphemism for lay-offs? Either way, :hero:

My team has the sexiest and deadliest waifus you can recruit.
Unlimited vacation is not a new thing in the tech industry. Basically, instead of having a set number of vacation days a year, you're allowed to put in for vacation whenever. In practice, it never made much of a difference for me... managers only approved vacations if milestones were being met and there wasn't a deadline looming anyway, so finding more than a few weeks a year could be difficult.

Where have you been? Paradox yanked Bloodlines 2 from them back in late February. They've yet to announce who they've given it to.
I haven't been following it for quite a while. I will have to look into it. Changing the developer mid-development makes 0 sense unless they plan to cancel it.

Hardsuit were a bunch of clowns who didn't know what they were doing. Paradox hired a guy whose job is to save troubled projects by telling the bosses what hard decisions they need to make and apparently his advice was to dump the team and send all the code and assets to another developer. I imagine they're on the level about that, but who knows how it'll turn out.

Or y'know, just let the Nosferatu wear a gimp mask? Works wonders, I... uh... heard.

I works better than a hood because it makes it look as if you want to stand out as a freak, like that Mortiis guy. However it may still lead to all the ladies fainting from pure lust.

just buy a hoodie to hide the ears then claim your appearance was because you are an english man that overdosed too much on krokodil.

I don't think they'd change the developer if they planned to cancel it, I think it shows a commitment to the reverse.

Also don't get the sense Paradox expected Hardsuit to screw up this badly, I feel like they both were asleep at the wheel.

Sounds more like a hippy commune than a professional workplace environment. Small wonder they couldn't push anything out in time.

Sounds like Valve, and they would be dead years ago if they didn't manage to get a head-start-monopoly with Steam to earn money from games other people make.
