VtM: Bloodlines doesn't need a sequel.

We do.

Lol, all you dumb cucks debating which studio has taken over like it matters. News flash, it doesn't. The game is guaranteed to be shit and we've known this for years now. Get over it already.

Paradox is the pickup truck that cruises for illegal mexican immigrants in the morning. Nothing implies they would change now and begin to value quality over cheap labor and quick bucks earned by a cult title.

wait a minute, you are right. DIsco Elysium doesn't count, because it's not a real game.

Funny you mention Disco because thats the only game I can think of that brings up Communism\socialism\marxism in the narrative in a way that is really part of the game but even then all the themes in Disco are parody and mostly done in a humorous way

I just dont think games can really influence us ideologically in the same was as some left wing political movement in any country can ?

I guess some things still hold true.

Places where Communism\socialism\marxism has worked:
video games

Any news on this? I can't even find out who is working on this, the last info I found is from November

PCGamer said:
During the Q&A section of Paradox Interactive's Q3 interim report, the topic of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 inevitably came up. The question asked was simply: "Any news on Bloodlines 2 or its developer?" To which Paradox CFO Alexander Bricca replied, "The new developer is doing quite well and we are happy with the progress of the project now, but it's still quite some time before we can start to talk about release dates."

When Bloodlines 2 was announced in 2019 it was being developed by Hardsuit Labs, but after the sudden firing of two key team members and the departure of another, it was delayed indefinitely and handed to a different studio. Paradox has yet to announce which studio, and that's not going to change any time soon according to Bricca.

"We prefer to give the studio a situation where they can focus fully on the game development," he continued, "and not having to address fans reaching out to them. So therefore we have so far not disclosed the name of the studio and we are very happy to keep it that way for still some time."

This sounds like such a mess I'm not sure how people could even care at this point. I cared before the mess began I guess.

I figure this franchise is just another like Chrono Trigger, where there was once a meeting of talent who created a great thing; which the rights-holders have been shitting up ever since.

There will not be a real sequel. RIP

They have not officially announced it, nor will they until they have something ready to show. In the latest Chinese Room newsletter they mentioned that they've doubled in size in the past year and "are in peak production with two games that are our most ambitious projects yet" which they've already revealed in their job listings as first person action/adventure games made in UE4, one being an original IP and the other not.

After the hash the tranny cunts made of the Battletech universe, you'd have to be retarded to allow those fat wokeshit landwhales anywhere near another IP.

My vote and sympathy goes for Splash Damage. I loved Arkham Origins but it's not perfect game. They could use this knowledge to make one outstanding VTMB2.

A worthy successor to Bloodlines needs to come out in such a broken state that you can't even complete the MQ. Like father, like son.

To be fair, you only couldn't complete the Bloodlines MQ in the unpatched game if you playes as a Nosferatu. For all other clans it was possible, at least if you didn't get the Beckett-stop-bug too ;)!

Don't remember having problems with Beckett, but the game 100% crashed when you got on the raft to escape the exploding caverns and only way to progress was to console teleport iirc.

12-year-old me kept losing his fucking mind over and over again because of this bug, and had no readily available Internet connection to look up the solution for it.

Didnt most of us agree that Chinese room would be a terrible choice for the unknown developer for this game? I hope its not them because then my eternal optimism will be seriously dampened around this game being worthwhile

So we are not suspecting Harebrained anymore?

It was never going to be them, they don't have the staff for it. They were already busy working on two projects, one a turn-based strategy game and the other a mystery, but one's possibly White Wolf-related since their jobs listings said it was a horror project. Just their own thing and not riding someone else's coattails.

Paradox has no good options open to them. Most optimistic thing about TCR is that the quality of their previous walking sims doesn't matter because all those people except the founders were laid off, so this is being made by a new team (plus the narrative QA guy from Bioware as principal narrative designer, though that only increases the chances of a reactive narrative that makes sense, not necessarily a good one).

I remember having to wait to get the PC Gamer cover CD for the patch. I replayed the game over and over trying to figure out if It was something I was doing wrong on my end.

Doesn't VtM already have VNs and walking sims? Or are Paradox going to Prey the Bloodlines title?

Oh, so basically the same thing as Hardsuit Labs' attempt, just from a different angle. FPS -> RPG to VN/WS -> RPG

Those watching for the lulz should have a few more years entertainment.
Condolences to anyone who had hope with Paradox as publisher, but that should have been learned ages ago.

It was never going to be them, they don't have the staff for it.
We, we'll see.
What I can say is that I'd have more confidence in them than in TCR; a studio that failed even to make something compelling by "waking sims" standards isn't exactly the best pedigree to tackle an ALLEGEDLY highly reactive first person action RPG.

The pedigree lies solely with the studio head who I imagine is more involved with their original game than something Sumo Digital allegedly forced on them because they could. Sumo Digital spent 3 million dollars just for him and the studio name. Everyone else there has never worked on any of their previous games.

I'm actually a bit pleased that the game we saw from the trailers sort of got the axe. I hope the new studio is building up from scratch.
