It's kind of a long shot, but in hindsight, maybe there was something to Ka'ai sharing (on his second Twitter profile) a song that goes:

Captain, there are doubts
Regarding
Your ability
To lead them

The men
Lead them
There are doubts in your ability
There's too many blanks in your analogies

("Brave Captain" by fIREHOSE)

That was early 2019 IIRC

Edit: Sarkile Martin Ka'ai Cluney, the Creative Director for Bloodlines 2, was fired (with Brian Mitsoda) one and an half year later this tweet, give or take.

Cara Ellison has uploaded a graphical presentation on Instagram stories. You can read it with an account or story reader. Or just rely on these images:

The subtext is obvious; like Avellone updating his linkedin when Mitsoda was fired, she's saying the writers aren't to blame for this mess. :P Self-preserving, yes, but accurate; they weren't the ones in charge of the project or responsible for the code.

Mitsoda seems like one of those writers where it's best if he's the only writer and no one else on the team cares about the story.

That's Dead State. On Bloodlines, Boyarsky was the creative director and he had co-writers with TJ Perrillo and Chad Moore though their contributions were much less than his.

Elaborate pwease

It's a Pole.

I've been told that Outstar is an outlier among Polish women, most of them aren't like that.

And nothing of value was lost. Stopped caring as soon as the dangerhairs entered the picture.

What I can't believe is how badly both Activision and Paradox wasted Bloodlines, you'd think they hate money.

As a first/third person action rpg with fully voiced, well written and well acted dialogs, small areas and big vampire titties, Bloodlines already had the "AAA multiplat action rpg of the late 2000s" formula down more than a year before oblivion ever cornered the digital horse armor market. Even if Activision lacked the foresight to figure out that console ports of Bloodlines could easily multiply the game's sales/fanbase and allowed Troika to go to hell, by the time oblivion, mass effect, fallout 3 and dragon age sold so well they certainly knew that formula worked.
And then you had the fucking gay sparkly vampire craze of the late 2000s/early 2010s. You couldn't go anywhere without seeing ads for gay vampire movies and tv shows. Yet none of these publishing assholes who salivate at the prospect of cheap movie tie-in videogames and consoles with hundreds of millions of AAA customers figured to even put out a vampire videogame? Let alone putting out ports of their perfectly fine AA vampire action rpg whose only sin was launching a couple of weeks before a game-unbreaking patch and being sent to vanish under the media avalanche surrounding valve's big launch of their discounted DRM platform with hl2 to lube you up for it?

And then you have Paradox, who -in an era where publishers are making more money than ever before selling full-priced remakes of classic games that far outsell the originals- decide that instead of finally giving a diamond in the rough the chance to shine&sell it never had before with a remake, they'd rather just use its brand to slap a more marketable "2" on a random vampire game made by an unproven studio.

Hello gamers

Anne Rice vampires are fucking gay

That's all

Proceed
They are disgusting gays that participate on gay vampire orgies but they probably have more testosterone than the vampires those soy infused cucks were making. Pff... "Consent based feeding" for vampires? Nigga, were they even trying?

Mitsoda's the guy who wrote the terribly bland Dead State
fuck you

It has one of the largest cast of companions with actual dialogue in any RPG I can think of. All of them are unique, I don't remember any of them being poorly written.
There was nothing wrong with the writing in the game.

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut Codex+ Now Streaming! Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
could starbreeze become the new dev? they are also based in sweden like paradox and they have games like the darkness and riddick on their resume wihich are both immersive sim like first person games

Pretty much everyone who worked on those games, including Starbreeze's own founders, left the studio to form MachineGames. The current Starbreeze is just a name, no relation with the people who made the games.

I FUCKING TOLD YOU ALL THAT THIS WAS GOING TO HAPPEN. AND IT'S BEAUTIFUL.
THEY ARE REMOVING THE POZ.
THEY ARE EXPANDING THE GAMEPLAY.
THEY ARE TIGHTENING THE GRAPHICS.
AND WHEN THE RELEASE FINALLY ARRIVES THE CODEX NAYSAYERS WILL BE BLOWN THE FUCK OUT BY HOW THE GAME IS NOT ONLY BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL BUT ON PAR WITH DEUS EX OR SYSTEM SHOCK 2.

You've sniffed too much jenkem already.

A hierarchy works such that the one above is responsible for the subordinate's failure.

Aka "shit rolls uphill".

Killed by wokeness or mismanagement? *That* is the question!

There's absolutely zero chance that anything resembling creative can be conceived under such stiffling pressure from the top management. Every idea of the creatives had to go through a tight sieve of 21st century progressive moral standards, with the creatives having to make doubly sure there's no chance of anyone becoming offended.
You read about the allegedly sexist dialogue lips icons from the original, a clear indication of priorities. They believe that the only way this will be a commercial success is that they pander relentlessly to the V5 socialistically queer crowd. I quess that's only natural, since the average gamers aren't as vocal, a silent majority.

Is it also possible that these corporations believe that it's better to jump on the woke train sooner rather than later even if the based will laugh and ridicule, in case the "social revolution" actually happens? They are futureproofing themselves by licking the boots of their would-be conquerors? That's a scary, disgusting thought.

Paradox really has nothing to fear in that regard. They were woke before it became mandatory.

On Mitsoda: (Since Wesp5 posted and others), it seems like Mitsoda's writing is pretty good, but I'm not so sure about him working with teams, that might be more the issue.

I can imagine this to be right and even in a good way. In a game like Bloodlines it's important that everything critical is written by one person only! Just remember the fiasko of the SW sequels where different people wrote stuff without caring about what the others wrote? Now compare that to e.g. Babylon 5 or the Marvel movies where obviously somebody planned everything and stuck with it. I never met Mitsoda myself, but what I have seen from the interviews I would guess he is not a "boss" kind of type. Like he does what he does best and the rest of the team must care about their own tasks.
