B-but how can you reject something that you already accepted?

Valve only approved the store pages to go public, not the actual game release. AFAIK devs don't need to send actual games for that. (Makes sense because many developers open store pages way before their games are ready to release.)

Asagi is likely rejected during the review for product release, the process Valve actually taking a look at the game, I'm sure they've seen the abyss there.

Asagi is gone, likely rejected by Valve.
They really should make up their minds, their policy on what can and can't be sold on their platform has been highly schizophrenic for a while now. They're not a clean and curated storefront anymore as Ebin or GOG, but they keep arbitrarily rejecting games. If they allow filth like Meltys Quest on their platform then why not Taimanin Asagi? There's no consistency whatsoever here.

Looks like the rejection was more about depiction of underage(-looking) character than the explicit nature of the novel.

Still they want to release a new title, which apparently is about a housewife falling into depravity, simultaneously on Steam.

Also known as Rei-Jin-G-Lu-P, the game was greeted by an enthusiastic response from critics and fans in Japan. Add it to your wishlist now if you haven’t already!

I heard this received pretty well.

As for Taimanin Asagi, other novels such as Yotsunoha and Tenkiame (available elsewhere) have met the same problems with characters of questionable age.

LOLICON IS NOT FUN.

Companies try to retaliate with a feeble "all characters over 18" but of course that's a blatant delusion.

Steam version is censored.

So games where you fuck a "little girl" but it isn't shown are still O.K.? Or do they have to go for the extreme route and replace sex with "eating ice-cream" or something.
Even the uncesnsored Saya is not actually porn. If it's ok to have Lolita in libraries, it should be ok with Saya as well.
Especially considering that Saya is not really a little girl and sex is not a major part of the story.

Sabbat of the Witch has the decensor patch right there on its Steam store page, so there's some inconsistency here.

There's definitely porn in uncensored Says, I've played it myself. Maybe you define the word differently. Porn or not, a great story.

Isn't that more like Haiyore! Nyaruko-san than Saya no Uta?

I was referring to the fact that Steam initially had SotW censored, then changed their policy and allowed the decensor patch to be on the store page.

Tsumugi is just your typical loli, yes, she may be childish, but she's supposed to be 16 or 17.

Standard Japanese fare, if they weren't allowing that they were denying themselves some good bucks.

A lot of artistic works, be it literature or movies or whatever, contain descriptive sexual scenes, yet not all of them are considered to be porn.
In porn sex is the primary and often the only subject of the work. In Saya the story obviously holds on its own even with all of the sexual scenes removed, though they add to the story.

7 years, 38 pages, and not even a sideways mention to Unteralterbach. Uncultured swine.

New Spike Chunsoft's VN, and it has pretty good reviews:

Is that a 55/60 bucks Visual Novel (at least the regional price in mine is one AAA game is usually released at) :what:

I understand that it might have very good writing but that kind of price for a VN probably won't fly in PC or even in console.

It's by the guy that did the Zero Escape series (999, Virtue's Last Reward, Zero Time Dilemma). Sadly this happened:

Even the Japanese are paying lipservice to the Ls, Gs, Bs, and Ts now, what happened? They didn't need to, they've always had okama characters who stood on their own without being propped up as 'stunning and brave' like, say, Bon Clay from One Piece who is a complete badass bro who just happens to be okama (And Ivankov from the same series) or Marie from Domekano. Sure they're played for comic relief at times, but so is everyone else in their respective series.

inb4 it turns out that whole dialogue sequence was a complete fabrication by the localization team
