you fire it and it just splatters whatever's in front of you. Like someone made a truck into a gun.
so weak version of ogryn shotgun?

I think their base damage is actually close to 1:1 with the ripper.

And it shoots beyond the two feet range that the ogryn shotgun has.

But seriously, you can actually snipe with it. It kills most elites in 1-2 head shots, but it'll jump like a mule.
not ripper, one-shot one.

just because it has the best bolter sounds in vidya.

I liked guns in wh40k boltgun too >

What I really disliked in darktide guns is that laser weapons have recoil. But I really liked psyker abilities in DArktide, I mean, has what I expect in a 40k game, talking only about Telekinesis, you can smash enemy heads, create force fields, throw telekinetic "bolts"/blades and endless spamming psyker powers can result in perils of the warp killing you.

And Ulfar cannot use one handed bolter pistol in melee range. Why? Because fuck you! Typical Owlcat
It's obviously bugged. People reported that some pistols do work in melee when you have Close-Quarters Training talent, which is for... making two-handed ranged weapons to be usable in melee.

btw looks like i failed ship combat. in early fights too many enemy ships escaped with loot and exp and now i'm not strong enough to deal with proper fights.

Find Dragonus and do a colony project that gives you Escort ship. Also you can get better weapons from colony projects as well as reputation with Imperial Navy faction. There is like one required space combat early and that is one next to Kiava Gamma so just leave that one for last.
Then explore the region and find all easy fights to do first. Some that seem hard are doable in few tries if you try different tactics (like running away and using torpedoes to kill some of them).

Did you convert your cargo loot into void trophies? You'll get enough to rank up the Imperial Navy shop and get decent gear for your ship.

Wait what?

E: oh you mean putting the crappy ship equipment into the cargo hold I presume. It sounded like you could convert one type of cargo into another
Not the ship equipment, the loot you get from ship battles, it's in the same window as the extractum, next to ship gear.
Unlike other cargo items that one does not go directly into cargo for some reason (probably another bug). At first I was keeping it thinking it is needed for something else but later said fuck it and manually put it all into cargo so I can upgrade my Navy reputation.

So I updated the game and now I can't speak to my companions in the bridge and cargo >100% displays the same number as if the contents added up to exactly 100. Typical Owlcat release experience, every patch is a coin flip on whether it breaks something new and unexpected.

Probably because there are so few large TRPG releases in general, and therefore, a hope for unicorns and rainbows takes over.

Companion thing is fixed with save and load save. But it will happen again and again until they patch it..

Owlcat_Eyler I see people on Steam are complaining that space combat is hard while playing on hard space combat difficulty. Please do not nerf space combat on Hard, if anything it is too easy on hard difficulty as soon as you level up a bit and get your Escort. But I have yet to try Act 4 and beyond space combat so maybe does get harder. But Act 2 on Hard was challenging at first and got easy later.

you have not experienced hard space combat if you missed unnerfed act5 space fuckness

also if you are struggling you can cheese 95% of em with torpedoes + spin dmg warp power & fly away which is probably not required anymore for any encounter

I think that honor will be left for all 100 people that managed to reach Act 5 and do those battles in these first few weeks of this Bugfest.

So did they really fix the game?
At least 1 month away from getting into something resembling a standard modern release state with lots of bugs still. Probably 3+ months away from real release state. And that is if they keep putting out weekly patches with as much fixes as now and stop putting in new bugs in all the time.
