I got to use Ulfar a bit more yesterday and he plays like a balanced version of Archmilitant as he cannot abuse burst fire like Argenta can. Well technically I could give him a Heavy Burst weapon but I chose not to :D
So he gets to Kick, use melee and shoot his Bolt Pistol. Since he cannot equip -50% recoil gloves like Argenta can, his Burst is not crazy single target damage weapon but spreads out more. He is still pretty useful, Kick basically takes out one dude for 1 round and his other attacks are decent to take out smaller enemies. He is good at front trying to block enemies and eating burst fire. He can parry, has full dodge in his armor and has good armor rating. If they let us put gloves, boots and helmet on him, he could be a real beast as SM are.
He is now a permanent replacement for Abelard in my team. Full Dogmatic team is now in effect.
His secondary weapon is MultiMelta I brought into Act 3 but it is very buggy and does not effect all squares it should by its AoE preview. If they do not fix that, I might switch to that Heavy Burst weapon.

So I updated the game and now I can't speak to my companions in the bridge and cargo >100% displays the same number as if the contents added up to exactly 100. Typical Owlcat release experience, every patch is a coin flip on whether it breaks something new and unexpected.

Also Owlcat is a real troll. I found previously Elder sniper rifle that says it can only use Deadeye shot but it costs 1 AP to do. It also does more damage than any other laser sniper rifle my main used until this moment (getting close to end of Act 3). So I suppressed my Dogmatic urges and took two common talents to get Lore Xenos and then Aelderi weapon proficiency so I can use that weapon. I was finally able to use it mid Act 3 and in first battle I equipped it I see its only attack costs 2 AP..
You know what we do to trolls

Speaking of Bugs
I encountered the genestealers and the game makes a big deal out of OH MY GOD THEY'RE COMING FOR YOU RUN GET OUT FUUUUUKC and then it consecutively spawns three stealers that just run away from me and die to the usual Argenta shenanigans. Talk about underwhelming.

For some reason Ulfar starts with 0/15 Dogmatic.
My Ulfar that I got before the patch had 200/200 dogmatic (that is lvl 3).

Good to know that breaking more shit with each patch is still a tradition. It kinda sucks not finishing this during year end holiday when I have the free time but you know, I'll just let it be like KM before playing it
My 1 week off work is starting tomorrow so hopefully I can finish it with current patch and one they will deploy next week. If shit will stay broken and I need to put it on pause, I still need to play new Path of Exile league, and also I noticed WH40K Inquisitor Ultimate Edition is 80% off so I might try that for some more WH40K explosive bolter fun.

Owlcat_Eyler I see people on Steam are complaining that space combat is hard while playing on hard space combat difficulty. Please do not nerf space combat on Hard, if anything it is too easy on hard difficulty as soon as you level up a bit and get your Escort. But I have yet to try Act 4 and beyond space combat so maybe does get harder. But Act 2 on Hard was challenging at first and got easy later.
I'll ask about whether they have plans on nerfing it

Yes Owlcat_Eyler, I think half the problem with space combat is that people don't realize they can change the difficulty of space combat independently, you guys need to flag that fact bigly.

just because it has the best bolter sounds in vidya.

I liked guns in wh40k boltgun too >

What I really disliked in darktide guns is that laser weapons have recoil. But I really liked psyker abilities in DArktide, I mean, has what I expect in a 40k game, talking only about Telekinesis, you can smash enemy heads, create force fields, throw telekinetic "bolts"/blades and endless spamming psyker powers can result in perils of the warp killing you.

The best bolter I remember was heavy bolter in WH40K Dawn of War that you could give to marine squads, I didn't know anything about Warhammer back then, but the game absolutely established heavy bolter as the most badass thing ever in my mind. It was glorious. I can still hear the sound of this shit just tearing through the ork goons like it was yesterday.

Hire me for your next game to populate the world with more:

maps being interconnected through the assembly of quest items or several situations' outcomes from adjoined maps and sub-areas, secret doors and sections, discovering paths instead of just being presented them, various approaches to places depending on skills, items, or exploration, changing architectonics, explorational puzzles, secret buttons and their combinations, pressure plate puzzles, quest items that need researching in both usage and discovering, lore-based piece-it-together-first treasure hunts, etc.

I don't mean this as in 'creating another Grimrock', of course, that'd be nonsense. I mean it as 'to an extend'.

I believe I am far from being the only one who is saddened to see such large games as yours—already great in combat, atmosphere, builds, and complexity of writing—that are also so unsubstantial in the hinted crucial aspect of any full-fledged, extensive RPG.
Nah, piss off with all that gay shit, just give me combat without over9000 bugs and we're cool.

No, no, that gay shit you are talking about—that's actually your old fart, your opinion(s), and your form of expression.
Same nonsense as defending AAA FPSs without headshots, extensive platformers without verticality, or open-world action games without dodge, or block, or jump as something well thought-out would be.

Listen, I'm not opposed to all that gay shit in principle, but it's something you sprinkle on top, when the core is already perfect. The meat of any proper TB RPG is combat, and until they start shipping games where combat actually works properly faster than 2 years, enhanced edition and 6 dlcs after release, I'd rather have them focus on that.

The fuck is going on

If you've been reading my posts re: Wrath and RT, you probably know I'm not exactly fond of how Owlcat does things. Regardless, for the sake of fairness, I suggest you guys need to consider a few things:
- Scope. Kingmaker became exhausting to play by the end. Wrath was even worse. RT also seems to go in that direction. Commorragh alone is just annoying to play for example. I believe it would help a lot if you made things generally shorter or less "epic".
- QA. You REALLY need to take a look here. This is the third release and people were already easily able to predict the exact types of problems the game would have. C'mon. This goes back to the scope issue, of course you can't polish everything when the game is 200 hours long.
- Politics. As far as I can tell you did well this time around, and Kingmaker wasn't too egregious either. Wrath was unquestionably woke and that wasn't just because of the source material. I'm also 100% convinced someone over at your studio fought tooth and nail to insert the usual diversity but didn't get to because the setting (and GW) wouldn't allow it. You don't need any of this shit to be successful, RT proves this, it's a choice on your end. Stop it.
