Now that I think about this, this is not much different than Phoenix Point release. Super buggy and with balance completely missing. PP also let you murder everyone on the map in one turn using specific combination of skills :D

Hotfix 1.0.89 is live!
Lord Captains!

We're pushing another quick fix, probably the last for this year, to address some of the problems that remained or popped up after the last big update. The hotfix will be available on Mac and consoles within ~24 hours as usual (consoles will not be updated twice - they will receive the big update with this hotfix already included).

Patchnotes (beware of possible spoilers below!):
  • You can now properly talk to companions on the bridge and in other encounters;
  • Allied companions that are not in the party will no longer become stuck during their turn in combat in Act III;
  • Fixed a case of saves not loading with an error message on Mac;
  • Fixed some UI responsibility issues with cargo interface;
  • The High Factotum will no longer summon the Lord Captain for a talk about Jae for those who never recruited her. This could prevent other cutscenes from playing;
  • Fixed a few more cases of the Lord Captain riding an invisible throne, which prevented some cutscenes from starting. For some saves it may be required to make a warp jump to relaunch the cutscene sequence;
  • The Psy-Stiffler item no longer stacks one more negative Psy-rating every time the game is loaded;
  • Psy-ratings have had their icons and descriptions back;
  • At Eufrates II, if a Heretical player decided to fight the Edge of Daybreak after defeating the Space Wolves
    , the quest would not complete - fixed, but you will need to load a save before the encounter in order to progress. Later on, we'll repair saves retroactively;
  • Marazhai's Soulless quest had an issue with it that was rather dangerous to repair in a hotfix. For now we are temporarily turning off the dialogue option that could cause the game to get stuck. This option, along with all necessary fixes, will come back a bit later in one of the nearest updates.

Long games is not the problems its the repetitiveness in their games. The predictable structure and gameplay loop. The voidship being the new throne room with its annoying hey listen to me companion quests. A no name planet is going to be a scene with one battle story planet a bigger scene multiple battles.

I encountered a new bug, half of my companions lost their dogmatic/iconoclastic levels.

They can still equip dogmatic/iconoclastic only equipment, but they don't get any extra effect scale with the dogmatic/iconoclastic levels.

Shiiiiiiet nigguhz, I am trying to liberate the Eufrates II and fighting big ships.TBH fam, the idea that a Firestorm frigate would fight a heavy cruiser 1v1 and win is somewhat ridiculous to anyone who played TT/PC Battlefleet Gothic or has any idea about the 40K ships, but I guess I will have to figure it out somehow lol.

Heavy Cruiser.jpg

Like... this thing is launching waves of starfighters, can fire two plasma and two lance batteries in a single broadsid, drops some sort of warp mines, has huge shields and armor... shiiiiiiet.

Guess the only chance I have is to try to kite this thing and launch torps, the starfighters dont make this easy as they try to shoot my torps down. Fortunately I have Cassia´s Empyrean Storm ability to deal with the swarms of strikecraft that get close. Wish I had my own starfighters... oh well.

Well, it works in the end - the heavy cruiser gets kitted, torpedoed, warped and ultimately plasmaed to death. Another victory for the Emprah! P. ebin tbh fam.

This actually makes me wish for a ground combat minigame as well for the planetary invasion part. Shit would have been so cash and the PnP Rogue Trader had rules for large scale ground combat in the Battlefleet Koronus sourcebook. Just a simple map, a few types of terrain and units would be great, no need to make a Panzer General out of it. Perhaps a DLC? As it is, the ground assault is merely a CYOA event, which is OK, but there is a potential for a lot more.

At least it turns out that Opticon-22 is a cool dude.

Don't. Give. Them. Ideas.

Half of the game is hilariously undercooked already, the other half is broken. I'm having fun but the longer I go on the more cracks appear (from bugs, missing textures, missing animations, stuff not working properly, typos). I seriously fear for Chapter 3/4/5, what the fuck are they going to do if Chapter 2 is already an incredible slog (a fun slog, I'll admit).

The thing is, this game keeps puzzling me more and more. There are maps that should have been text adventures and text adventures that should have been maps. Furthermore, after a while the overuse of "people die horribly, press any key to continue" makes you completely desensitized to anything during warp travel, bar when you have to deal with another warp incursion. Hell, Owlcat, if you had so much free time to design the warp incursion maps you could have done a less shitty genestealer encounter.

TWO

And at the same time events that should require your presence are resolved when you are half a sector away. And if they don't bug out, I got to Foulstone for an epidemic and the message simply disappeared (bugs, I guess). I'll admit, it feels like completely different people worked on the game with completely different ideas and both versions got in, it's starting to feel completely incoherent.

Honestly space combat especially in Hard is omega fun.

Out of 3 Owlcat games this one, sans softlock due to scrap, is simple but fun. I honestly wish we could command a small armada instead of just 1 ship + escort
