Shiiiiiiet nigguhz, I am trying to liberate the Eufrates II and fighting big ships.TBH fam, the idea that a Firestorm frigate would fight a heavy cruiser 1v1 and win is somewhat ridiculous to anyone who played TT/PC Battlefleet Gothic or has any idea about the 40K ships, but I guess I will have to figure it out somehow lol.

View attachment 45092

Like... this thing is launching waves of starfighters, can fire two plasma and two lance batteries in a single broadsid, drops some sort of warp mines, has huge shields and armor... shiiiiiiet.

View attachment 45096

Guess the only chance I have is to try to kite this thing and launch torps, the starfighters dont make this easy as they try to shoot my torps down. Fortunately I have Cassia´s Empyrean Storm ability to deal with the swarms of strikecraft that get close. Wish I had my own starfighters... oh well.

Well, it works in the end - the heavy cruiser gets kitted, torpedoed, warped and ultimately plasmaed to death. Another victory for the Emprah! P. ebin tbh fam.

This actually makes me wish for a ground combat minigame as well for the planetary invasion part. Shit would have been so cash and the PnP Rogue Trader had rules for large scale ground combat in the Battlefleet Koronus sourcebook. Just a simple map, a few types of terrain and units would be great, no need to make a Panzer General out of it. Perhaps a DLC? As it is, the ground assault is merely a CYOA event, which is OK, but there is a potential for a lot more.

At least it turns out that Opticon-22 is a cool dude.

Honestly space combat especially in Hard is omega fun.

Out of 3 Owlcat games this one, sans softlock due to scrap, is simple but fun. I honestly wish we could command a small armada instead of just 1 ship + escort
Space combat is pretty cool. Hopefully they expand it a bit in EE or in one of the DLCs.

The writing in this game is so good compared to larian

same tier of writing

I defended this game's writing in the past but "so good" is far from what I would describe it as.

If Larian's writing is shit, then Owlcat writing is slightly better shit, but it takes longer to poop out.

Everything in this game is a paragraph when a sentence would do.

For me the worst thing about Act 2 is your 3 planets that are tiny, especially Kiava Gamma that you never get a chance to see anything except now empty map where you cleared all enemies.
Footfall is biggest area in the game which is stupid as it is not even yours. Even Act 3 city is way too small, basically 1.5 maps of this supposedly gigantic city that is supposed to be larger than biggest Imperial worlds..

Game feels much smaller than previous games and smaller than other cRPG, new or old.
Playtime is buffed by constant way too slow loading screens that remind me of worst version of Kingmaker and PoE1.

It's not so much the details, but rather the concepts at the core of the game. See, the Owlcat dialogues, descriptions of some scenes, etc. might be meh sometimes, but the setting, main story, companions, etc. will still feel like a fucking masterpiece compared to Larian.

Even if you'd have the exact same writer, and you tell him to write 2 companions and give him the directions:

1. RT Abelard - He's a Rogue Trader's seneschal, he's a professional and loyal classic bro character.
2. BG3 Halsin - He's a buff elf who turns into a bear and has sex with people and bears and he also is into open relationships and all companions want to fuck him, and oh he's also a druid and likes nature I guess.

There is no way the 2nd don't feel fucking awful compared to 1st. BG3 was already doomed in the concept phase, before they got to the actual writing. But of course the writers are still responsible for the concepts, it's not like Swen himself ordered all this shit to be in the game, tho I don't doubt a lot of it is his influence. That's why ultimately the "writing in this game is so good compared to Larian" sentiment, feels right when looking at the whole picture.

I think the game nails the setting and that's quite enough. This is my first warhammer game but Owlcat managed to capture the Grimn Dark, otherwordly nature and "so dark that turns around to be funny" aspect of warhammer that people speak of it.

The setting in the game is so messed up that sometimes I just want to burn the whole thing down. Not even the most good two shoes character survive in this shitty setting.

I like the warp sequence descriptions: "Some fucked up shit happened so we sealed the deck and later purged the crew inside. Moving on..."

Come the fuck on. I didn't pick up Jae the first time and now she's gone. Or perhaps her quest never actually started, I don't know. For fuck's sake Owlcat, how hard is it to make sure you at least can pick up all the companions.

Now you can't write 10 posts about how cringe she is and how you hate her, Owlcat playing 4D chess :smug:

The worst thing about this game are the companions. The majority of them don't have any character development which is a huge step-down compared to WotR. it's sad cause the building blocks are there, but it's very obvious that they had to can their plans for some reason during the development (my hunch is GW meddling).

Nah, I fucking hate most of companions in WotR, but here only the nigger psyker was really annoying (killed the xenos so idk about them).

One of the best ones for me was trying to get to a system 4 or so jumps away: an interrupt after warp, load to bridge, nothing happens, load to system, load to warp, warp, load to bridge, nothing happens again. My fucking nuts with this.

Why the fuck you even want to pick up Jae? Do you enjoy your sassy Arab companion that's too good for you, so charming and funny? I do regret not recruiting her: I bet I could have shot her in one of her quests or something (and of course the game is bugged and one of her personal quests is in my log for ???? reasons). Indira didn't escape, thankfully.

Bro, why are you skipping the warp encounter combats. They're better designed than the mainline fights, I shit you not. The one with the Portal Warlocks is interesting, I got once a Primal Bloodletters+ Marine combo that was almost difficult, the Plaguebearer shit is interesting, the Daemonettes jump you in your bed.... I swear they feel more developed than "here 20+ cultists" that was common in Chapter 1.

Don't do red jumps. If you do only yellow jumps you can get there without any figts and loading screens.

Ok, I finally reached lvl 1 Exemplar and I am looking at this big list of new talents.. since this is late game that nobody tested I can probably expect only 1/3 of these working as expected?!
