Seriously, what is up with posting every little update or interview about all the other KS games whose kickstarters already ended, and no postings at all about this one whose kickstarter is still actually running ?
Because we aim for next gen consoles and we all know they are only about popamolin' and particles. :obviously:
No really, I am already surprised by the positivie feedback we got here from some dexers.

Because its not about ships making explosions in space or wizards making explosions with their minds. It also seems to have an elegant combat systems which fits perfectly in the context of the game. They also haven't thrown the ''morally grey'' buzzword enough times and don't seem to obsesses over throwing endless artificial moral dilemmas at the player. Yet.

Some here are turned off by that.
It's also a twitchy action RPG, with a console release, made by someone who made his distaste for traditional RPGs pretty clear on these very pages. Some here are turned off by that.

Some would also say you should be grateful it's being covered here at all instead of moaning about the coverage.

Which makes it a very interesting tech demo at least, but I wouldn't want to pay a single pound for that. I am worried that this inverse cinematics sword dancing they plan to implement turns out to be nice to look at but too restrictive towards player input to be any kind of fun. On top of that they provided jack shit about what kind of side quests (disturbing carefully planned NPC day cycles to see what they do becomes boring very fast) they will provide, if you can initiate a skirmish anytime you want, how the game world and your available activities will be influenced by who owns what place, about economics and how they will make sure they don't just crash anytime you throw a wrench in the works, about how the society will work and if your rank in it will be part of the main story (I guess so) or dependent on your side activities (would be much better gameplay-wise but weaken the main story), and so on and so on. Their updates are low on info regarding actual gameplay stuff.
Obviously they will reach their goal so I decided to withdraw my pledge because I don't like what I see anymore (a lot of superficial polishing and not much to it when it comes to fun gameplay) and I don't trust a guy who has such a screwed up mindset towards CRPGs.

Not at all. What they are displaying and promising seems to be even more of an RPG than Morrowing, Deus Ex or fallout 2.

And how about the fucking stick of truth?

Monty, NotAGolfer:
There's also Martin Klima in the core dev team though. He's one of coauthors and main redactors of Draci Doupe, which is a Czech clone of D&D published back in 1991. I consider him a very competent man in terms of RPG making, here's a picture of some stuff he was working on. My photographing skill sucks monkey ass, so excuse the poor quality please.

Well, that's :incline:.
But as long as they don't provide more detailed info on their game's systems I won't change my mind.
It's not like I couldn't afford to pay for a full price game so if it turns out to be good (doesn't even have to be a good RPG, just not boring like that Ass Creep Revelations abomination I tried yesterday ... borrowed it from a friend) I'll definitely buy it. The setting is interesting and I like history, but a part of me keeps nagging that reality was just as boring back then and the fun stuff will be limited to the main quest.

Pretty long gameplay video from yesterday's stream. Made with a half-year old build, but still gives some insight. There's some Gothic and Witcher vibe.

That's a really cutscene-heavy start for a game. Not much dialogue options to pick from, at least in that build.

Yeah, he even clicked away much of it and it was still jarring. Why don't they turn some of those dialogue cutscenes into ingame scenes anyway? If they want to make it that story focussed then let me see through the eyes of my character all the time at least. Weird how they didn't want us to play in 3rd person because immershun but have no problem with the disconnect in these longwinded cutscenes.

And no, I don't get a Gothic vibe from watching this. Gothic was full to the brim with often silly sidequests. That's one of the many reasons it's such a great, addictive game, because they shat all over realism and made the player the only person in the gameworld that wasn't lazy and so he ended up doing everybody's job, which set things in motion and advanced the story (most CRPGs do that to a degree but Gothic takes the cake and at the same time it made sense because all these convicts are of course lazy sleazebags). There was always something new to do and discover, the game just kept you hooked.

KC on the other hand looks like a promising hiking sim. :smug:

I don't don't know who made that photo, but he could have at least put the beginner/advanced/expert rule books in the correct order. /OCD
Fair enough. I'm the person responsible for taking shot, shame on me! Here, this could be better, oh unforgiving Codex:

I'm not big into books, but the expert rules are on top. Logic dictates you should start with beginner.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
This thread morfed into a debate about book arrangement, the General RPG one is all about cleavages.

Two years to go.
