On the first day of Gamescom, Brother None gave to me...three new Wasteland 2 screenshots showing the Desert Rangers engaged in tactical combat against the vicious Red Skorpion Militia. Check 'em out:

I've also gotten word that our official Gamescom delegates, Grunker and JarlFrank, have already received a private viewing of Wasteland 2's demo. I'm sure they have plenty of impressions to share, but until they return, you'll have to entertain yourselves with more complaints about the game's UI. :smug:

Update: Here's a sneak preview.

Well at least the UI is solid now, unfortunately they stuck with that fax paper text box and huge fonts. The text for the weapon stats looks pretty bad too. I also see they kept that clunky NBA shot clock AP counter and it's fucking huge. Argh. I still like mine better:

EDIT: Nevermind, it isn't solid. First screenshot threw me off with ground texture between the UI elements. These guys...

At least it looks a little bit more uniform. The previous one was like a collage of hastily edited textures. It certainly has room for improvement (a lot), but is looking less awfull. I still don't like that LCD counter tho.

Much better UI.
Now only the fax printer and the huge AP dot need to go and it will be fine.

I like the current UI, even paper parts aren't so annoying like they were before. Still, electronic screen instead would be much better. :P

UI looks better than before. I don't really mind the matrix paper that much, but I wish i would just close off at the top and roll. It looks dumb with the text showing at what is the back of the paper in the first line. Also that AP counter needs to go

Wish we could see some inventory pics.

Is it possible to make a more blatant copy of Fallout's look and feel in the UI?
AoD? :M

For a second I thought your UI was their updated version :(

I'm okay with the UI.

There are two things I think they should change, though:
The white colors on the printed paper and the lightbulb AP counter. I have problems reading dotted stuff like that.

I would much prefer an AP counter like this (the right one - left is original :P):

The UI in the first screen shot doesn't seem so bad. With the enemy icons and the radar out of there it looks better.

seconded. the frame around the weapon display could use some thinning and other work too but other than that it looks good.

Can someone explain to me what those weird damage ratings (4-4) for both guns mean? I'm guessing the range isn't 4-4, is it?

Got to admit that they did a good job on the UI, I'm impressed.

I agree with you, but I would do the AP meter with a flip display, like this:
