Some people just cannot accept the casualties of war.

And I envy them their sweet, sweet naïveté. But in my world it's dark and it's dirty and it stinks. I mean it really smells bad here. What IS that?

I don't understand, Doesn't me picking the choice to try and save both towns have the consequence of having access to both towns instead of one? Or do you mean more impactful?

I_am_Ian, I don't think I explained myself correctly. I don't have a problem with bad results. I only want the choice to at least try and save both towns instead of one.

FeelTheRads, The last sentence is probably right. I only started playing on PC 3 years ago and one of the best things I think is how moddable most games are. Just in case not to create a misunderstanding. If I play a game for the first time I don't use anything that results in changing the way the game is supposed to be played.

Brother None, Thank you. It was just a question so not a request or anything like that.

If you can choose between saving town A or town B, or saving both of them, who would not choose saving both of them? You save more NPCs, you probably get more loot and more XP from them. This would make the choice irrelevant. The only way it would work in my book if you get some kind of negative consequence if you save both of them.

What if you made the "save both" a non-implicit & especially hard choice ?

I don't have any problem with choices leading to content being unavailable, but this particular situation feels rather contrived. Two towns are attacked at the same time and there's absolutely no way to reach both of them before the attacks are over, but definitely time to reach one? What a coincidence!

I'd have liked it if it was possible to save one, both or no towns, or at least partially saving them, based on how skillfully you're playing rather than just making arbitrary choices.

I agree it would be great to be able to play every conceivable scenario in an RPG.

I hope they stick to this kind of design. Not being able to save everyone would be pretty refreshing, for a change.

Perhaps trying to save both cities will result in more casualties in both cities. Or the Rangers base becomes vulnerable. There are many other options.

This kind of binary C&C is just a non-elegant solution to the game designer needs. But what about the players?

I only care if I can make an informed decision with forecasted consequences. Save Random Place A or Random Place B when I have no attachment to either or have very little information about them isn't a compelling choice.

I'm not delusional because I'm right.

I killed a bunch of kids in the first one and popped a bunch of moles and Harry the Bunny Master in the other. Neither place was interesting, can I tell both towns to fuck off and go somewhere else?

By the by, looks like Fargo and Keenan were full of hot air as usual talking about how they'd get a video out first thing this week before the journalists could publish their stories.

If they were working as fast as they could, they would have already re-recorded the 30 minute video (or simply reused the one that was good enough for journalists) and added narration to it. Instead it has been two full work days of nothing.

At least this is their second gameplay video already. Meanwhile Obsidian is going to complete an year of development and nothing solid to show

Looks like Feargus cares a lot more about first impressions than Brian. I think the NeoGAF response to their concept art despite all the "these aren't final" disclaimers traumatized them.

Your position is that there is a 0% chance one unreleased game will be better than another unreleased game? Surely even someone as delusional as you can see how ridiculous this is.

Sure looked a lot more tired day 3. Even my hair's collapsed in one itself. With thanks to one journalist from Japan. No idea if he liked it tho.

I assumed this would be the case. Your obsession with Sawyer and his game has rendered you incapable of objective reasoning. Is this how you see it?

Keenan is making too many concessions to quasi-simulation whereas Sawyer is going full-abstraction-ahead in the pursuit of fun so I know I'll enjoy his ideas more.
