Underrail, developed by a small indie team with a fraction of the budget, leaves WL3 so far behind in every way that it’s not even conceivable to compare the two. And in the world of endless masterpieces that will take a lifetime to play, would you really want to waste your precious time on a mediocrity?

You should ask this in Underrail topic.

I've posted it before, but I really don't think games like Underrail are comparable to WL3. The similarities are entirely superficial, WL3 is much more of a tactical cRPG.
Less emphasis on the character, less emphasis on exploring, less emphasis on interacting with the environment.

What's the difference in terms of consequences and rewards between Vics choices - kill, suicide him, arrest or whatever that first aid choice does? I'd like him dead or even better tortured to death, but my gamist side wants to know whats best for life.

Keeping him alive makes the Patriarch happy, killing him makes Angela happy. If he's alive you can either arrest him or have him join as a companion if you want someone evil in your party.

That's obvious, but not what i asked. What are immediate consequences? Like, when i delivered Valor alive, i get that gun for Kodiak. If i didn't, i wouldn't. Don't really care whos happy or not. Also, does Patriarchs happiness differ according to ways Vic dies (kill/suicide with grenade/gas)?

Kill him and you get his pistol https://wasteland.fandom.com/wiki/Vic's_Piece

Don't kill him and you get the cluster bomb for the Kodiak https://wasteland.fandom.com/wiki/Cluster_bomb

And no, if he's dead, he's going to be mad regardless of how it happened.

Btw, never knew where that detonation cult site is. I have a version with Steeltown in it, but never got prompt about that Cheyenne mountain.

Ok, I usually like turn based/Xcom style gameplay but having to wait for 20 enemies to do their actions EVERY.SINGLE.TURN is a fucking pain in the ass, I'm looking at you Crow/Ludlow battle.
What I would give for an instant enemy turn, I think there was a game that did that, forgot which one.

? "Simultaneous enemy movement" is enabled by default. If you want them all attacking at the same time, that's just not possible.

But the combat is dogshit compared to Underrail's.

I played this game for well over a hundred hours and thoroughly enjoyed myself for most of that time but then had a lousy experience right at the end so of course I'm going to focus exclusively on that. SPOILERS follow.

So I reloaded a save from before the confrontation with the last Buchanan kid and went on a murder spree, killing every NPC in the game. In Colorado Springs, I murdered all the Rangers at the base, all of the Marshals and every Cotter. Only then did I face Liberty. When I got back to Colorado afterwards, the entire fucking city respawned with the sole exception of Mama Cotter, now replaced by her son Tommy. I guess it was fun to get two of Daisy's unique rifles but what the fuck? I killed that Randy Gett fucker THREE TIMES. At the HQ, at Gett Homestead, because he and his sister failed to despawn there after their quest was over and then at the HQ again in the finale. Worse yet, even though I exploded Flab at the Bizarre, the ending still said that he outlived the Patriarch.

Popamole fucking banal shit.

Still one of the few modern games I've played to completion. Very enjoyable.

I didn't play WL3 but WL2 combat >>>> Underrail combat.

In WL2, you get to
  • Control a SQUAD of 4/6 characters.
  • You can get into position before most fights.
  • The cover system is well done with some destructible cover.
  • The AI isn't retarded like in underrail.

In Underrail,
  • You only control one character
  • It's a glorified roguelike
  • But muy psionics, autists like the build variety
