Yeah you can't reasonably beat an 80 hour game and write a half-decent review all within a week. At best they can maybe rush the main plot but if WL3 is structured anything like WL2 that's not exactly easy

That's the longest text I've seen where the author says essentially nothing. Also what kind of writing style is that? Like they're too in love with the sound of their own voice or something.
Game Journos are the epitome of the "smelling your own farts and laughing about it"

One of the Polish newspapers has reviewed the game and I'm excited now: https://technologia.dziennik.pl/gry...ado-straznicy-gra-recenzja-rpg-czy-warto.html

For me, Wasteland 3 is one of those games that will fight for the RPG title, and maybe even the game of the year. A fantastic story, the development of which depends on our decisions, and the game presents us with many moral choices, those in which there is no good solution. In addition we get good gameplay mechanics, interesting opponents, nicely presented post-apocalyptic, winter Colorado... If you like RPGs and are looking for a worthy successor to Fallout 1 and 2 (because 3 and 4 are abominations), then Wasteland 3 is a game you will fall in love with. Especially since it can be repeated many times, each time choosing different options to change the epilogue.

Interview with Brian Fargo and stream of the game:

Regardless if they make it a full separate release or not, the worst time to play these games is on release. If not for bugs, then for quality of life features and additional content / game modes that they'll add like 1 year after release. Wasteland 2, Bard's Tale IV, Divinity:OS, Pillars 1 & 2, Grimoire, Dragonfall, Kingmaker, etc... everyone who waited (even if they bought it on release) had a far better experience.

You either play a game years after release and have fun, but you are alone or you play it when it's released when you can be a part of conversation about the game, but it isn't as good.
Well good thing for me is that I don't want to have a conversation about games with others. :D

For someone who doesn't want to have a conversation about games, you're sure conversing a lot on a gaming forum.

Codex is less talking about games we all love and more talking about games we all hate (or at least pretend to hate). Still technically a conversation though.

Well posting on a forum is different. But I never really chat or talk about games IRL.

Not even with friends on discord? I hide my power level during my day job but after I'm at home I go do my stuff on PC and talk with friends about video games usually.

I watched cohh for an hour or so,the gameplay looks really solid, but the writing and world building is very cringy. The voice acting is also painful to listen to.

:deathclaw:
Why not? It is 5 days of playing, day of resting and a day writing. Also who the fuck came up with the game being 80 hours lol? An experienced rpg gamer could finish it in 20-30 hours for sure. Even kingmaker was like 50 hours at most. Wasteland 2 was like 20 hours long,no reason to expect this one to be 80.

Voice acting is cringe in Wasteland 2 too and it's fine, who gives a shit. But the writing in W2 was p. solid, for a videogame that is.

You mean to tell me that a voice-acting cast where the feral kid from the Mad Max movies, a part with almost no coherent lines, takes top billing can possibly be bad?

Lies.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is.
People who only sprint through the main quest and move on. Disgusting creatures.

Either game is good and then you properly squeeze it for content or it's shit and then you don't play it at all.

Not rush mate,he said that can't be done i stated that it could be done. Anyway it doesn't matter since all the journo reviews are shit by default. That said i do enjoy playing fast, prefer to not waste time on slow combat etc etc.

People who only sprint through the main quest and move on. Disgusting creatures.
I agree,i do want to 100% my games.

No stretch goal left unfulfilled this time!

Wasteland 3 Time Capsule Challenge
c84f3a_e4dad67e4d444124bf81c7282bed0c53~mv2.webp

Many years ago, in a time long-forgotten, when we still worked from places called "offices", we devised a scheme. A scheme to hold a contest within the grand state of Colorado that would send our fans forth into its wilds to dig up random locations to find a time capsule. Within that time capsule we would somehow fit collectible items like a signed piece of Wasteland art, and a signed Wasteland 3 Collector’s Edition.

However, when putting this scheme into action a few realizations set in. 1. Law enforcement and state laws don’t mesh well with the whole “go dig up people’s property” idea, 2. This wasn’t a very globally-friendly idea (or even other-states-in-the-U.S. idea), 3. The winner being only the first person to find it felt pretty limited, 4. We now find ourselves in a situation where sending people to physical locations for prizes may be putting them at undue risk, and 5. That's going to be a real big time capsule.

So, what’s a plucky gang of game developers to do? Brainstorm! So after putting our best brain cells to work we fixed it up to what we think is actually a much better and cooler idea. We’ve brought the time capsule hunt in-game!

c84f3a_881b16eecc3f48549cbaec8c6920a93e~mv2.webp

Here’s how it works:
  1. On the world map you have a rare chance to encounter a beautiful but difficult enemy: the Golden Scorpitron

  2. Within that same map, and with enough Awareness, you'll discover a hidden Time Capsule to dig up

  3. Within that Time Capsule you’ll find a number of useful items, chief among them a letter from our fearless leader Brian Fargo

  4. Send us a screenshot or photo of that letter to contests@inxile.net (be careful to follow the official rules) and you’ll be entered into the drawing
The FIRST person to send us a photo or screenshot of the letter (again, being careful to follow the official rules) will be granted the Excavation Award, and as their reward have an item named after them added to the time capsule for future excavators to find.

Everyone that submits a valid entry will be entered into a drawing to win a prize package consisting of:
  • Wasteland 1 cover art lithograph, numbered and signed by Brian Fargo

  • Wasteland 2 Kickstarter Collector’s Edition

  • Wasteland 3 Collector’s Edition signed by the development team

After the contest ends we'll be removing the letter and adding in the item named after our Excavation Award winner. The Golden Scorpitron will remain, shiny and chrome and forever prepared to defend its treasure.

These prizes aren't going to drool over themselves, so get hunting and get digging, Rangers!

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. Game ends November 30, 2020. Official Wasteland 3 Time Capsule Challenge Rules.
