Butthurt Wesp5's VtM: Bloodlines patch is the biggest poison in the RPG modding community

Were you playing on Win XP (32 bit version)? Because from what I remember it doesn't work on modern systems

As for Wesp's patch, I disagree with some of his decisions but I don't remember any bugs when I've played it. Then again I don't remember any bugs when I played the vanilla version (and by vanilla I mean 1.2 version).

Yes, but not only that. In his patch every woman is nude, policemen are policewomen (commando style), etc. etc.

I haven't tried Tessera patch but I think his true patch only fixes bugs, then there's another overhaul mod of his that adds tits and assorted genitalia.

Warpaint and a machine gun?
I don't want to post indecent pictures but it's something along those lines: [redacted]

Interesting. I have vanilla DVD and it doesn;t work on Win 7 64 bit without Wesp's mod. Maybe they did something to the Steam version then?

You might be right, it was hard to find his mod/patch and what I downloaded was megamod or something like that.

There is a little error message which pops up regarding memory limits, but you can avoid that by adding a line and/or starting Steam as administrator (can't remember which, or maybe both)

I've beat multiple runs with multiple different versions of the patch without issue op. I recommend formatting your hard drive because it's full of viruses and bitcoin miners from downloading too much horse pornography.

I have finished Bloodlines several times with the patch without a single bug. I've never tried the added content, and I'm happy that Wesp gave me the choice to install the baseline or the "extra shit" version. I could never finish properly baseline Bloodlines thanks to a crippling bug with level loading.

On the other hand, based on this thread and the Half Life 2 thread, we can argue that OP is a faggot.

At least Bloodlines is 10% fixed. Arcanum on the other hand...

Isnt this teh dude who made the nude malk patch?
Yes, but not only that. In his patch every woman is nude, policemen are policewomen (commando style), etc. etc.
Actually, every single nude patch in the world, from Age of Conan's to the great Fappening Hack, uses Tessera's patented code and meshes.

Who are you trying to fool, OP? Wesp5's patch is absolutely brilliant. Never had even one, serious issue in all my playthroughs, and I'm playing with the unofficial patch for many years now.
Wesp5 no longer has any reason to continue doing the patch, yet he does not stop. Because nothing else other than the love for the game that he is working on the patch for several years.
If there were serious issues with the patch then why would the GOG Team decide to include the basic version of the patch in the GOG release, which fixes bugs & makes it playable on the system?

I can't make up my mind on the validity of your criticisms for Wesp5's patch. It appears to me a case of personal issues ( jealousy? ) with Wesp5 or whatever self interest you might have.
There are no problems with the unofficial patch but the issue seems to be at your end that you are spewing poison against Wesp5 because you simply lack the dedication and skills it takes to create a reputation in the modding community.
Nobody is going to believe you, OP. Because many have been playing with the patch and I have hardly seen any complaints from the community.

What a loser!

The version of the patch I used was pretty solid, aside from the sexy poster collecting quest becoming inevitably broken.

I did notice that playing a Nosferatu resulted in a significant number of glitches, but I figure that's the price to pay for a unique class that wasn't even playtested (Tim Cain noted that in its initial release, you'd get to a point where the game would crash because of a specific spawn issue, and this wasn't caught before release because not a single QA tester had played it).

Not even QA wanted to play as Nosferatu and dwell into boring sewers.

If you install the plus part that restores and adds content the patch has indeed many issues and bugs, also I can't vouch for his gameplay changes because I have only finished it with his patch but there are people complaining about how he arbitrarily tweaked and changed the combat, weapons stats and loot substantially.

But should rebalance tweaks be included in a supposedly bug fix patch? E.g. he nerfed stealth a lot, for what purpose? It's not a multiplayer game and the combat is not particularly enjoyable.

He 'nerfed' stealth. As in, you now use 2 pips in stealth instead of one to become master infiltrator. Which is not including Blood Buff and other disciplines which aid in stealth.

The last time I checked, you could choose between a plus patch (which has all his balance tweaks, and "restored" content) and a big fix patch. I've only ever used the bug fix patch.

Exactly. The stealth "nerfing" (in the original game you were already invisible at Stealth stat 6 and now you are at the stat max 10) and every other weapon or combat stat change should only be in the plus version of the patch! If I overlooked something (which of course is possible as I split the basic patch from the plus version years ago), please tell me, as I try to improve the basic patch as well as the plus one. I'm not a coder, I'm an analytical chemist who does this purely for fun as a hobby, so I'm the first to admit that I introduce the occassional bug while fixing or restoring stuff, but overall the game is a lot more bug free! Also if you checked out the list in the other thread then you should know that there are a lot of unresolved issues as there is only so much you can do by changing scripts and map files without having the source code of the game, which I wouldn't understand anyway ;). Actually I always hope that the current patch will be the last one, but then people stumble over issues that I wasn't aware of or couldn't fix before and work continues. As for support of the patch, I monitor six boards, this one included, because I can only repair bugs that other people report. I don't replay the game all over myself as I don't have the time for that and there are endless possibilies to do so! As for the restorations, with the help of some other cool people we managed to add seven brand new maps and expanded on two more, this is the most taxing thing right now...

MotherMachinae I noclipped it now just for you and it appears to me (I could be mistaken) as if the sewers aren't built to scale with the city that's "above" them (the sewer maps aren't actually below the city), which is definitely the right call to have made.
