I've finally started playing Dusk. Everyone seems to be creaming themselves about this but after 3 levels the only thing I have to say so far is that it's merely ok. You have to be super easily impressionable to call it anything amazing.

The first levels are quite mediocre, people swear it gets better but I could not endure it for long. Too little time nowadays for mediocrity, and the fact that Dusk's graphic style is on purpose shitty and badly made (low-res can give you wonderful models and levels, Dusk is planned to look shit and I can't pardon that) soured me big time.

Plus, retroclones are a blight nowadays.

Yes, the graphics style was what put me off the most this whole time to be honest. The game simply looks like fucking shit.

let's see... what has Rusty played recently...

Drox Operative 2: Feels very repetitive, don't really feel like spending the time to learn all the UI bits atm. The sci-fi parts don't feel very well thought out or important at all.
Sands of Salzaar: Fun, actually. Sorta like mountain blade except with hack-n-slash combat.
God of War: boooring cutscene simulator
The Quest: Fun turn-based blobber.
Jupiter Heck: Feels pretty barebones.
Expeditions Rome: Bland tacticool game in Netflix-style "Rome" that gets repetitive fast.
Elite Dangerous: I can't do more than 30 minutes in this game without getting bored. I've tried more than a few times, I'll probably try again and quit again.

I spent a lot of time in Mortal Online 2 today. The crafting and melee combat are both really fun. Haven't really gotten to try out magic yet since magic is a big task in this game. You can't just pewpew without gathering reagents and spending a lot of time reading books in game. It's a real shame that no one is talking about this game. I think if the devs had a big marketing budget it could be the biggest full loot pvp mmo since UO.

Binging on PB games. Played Gothic 1 and 2 to get ready for Archolos then I played that and it's a fucking masterpiece, best RPG of 2021 and one of the best of all time. Suffered through Gothic 3 and now I'm on Risen.

I played the beta, but it didn't grab me. It felt very grindy.

Playing Deus Ex with the Lay D Denton mod to make a comparison of all lines in person. Apparently it doesn't play nice with GMDX and the Revision entry on Steam now allows vanilla maps without Revision revamps. That's what I went with.

Also Doom Eternal horde mode and ELEX.

i also like very much verticality, diablo 2 is so flat compared to this:

+
awesome graphics
very good character development
drop rates way way way way way better than in diablo 2

it is awesome h&s game but i cannot deny the fact that they wasted awesome engine with awesome graphics and very interested setting on h&s game...
Just imagine how awesome proper fallout-like crpg on this engine and setting would be...

diablo 2 is better when it comes to itemization but everything else is better in TQ

Recently played this. Still need to beat Atlantis and try the new expansion.

Sigh... I was happily wasting time on The Last Remnant until my trusty old GTX 770 decided it's time to start dying and started artifacting and crashing almost immediately after I start playing anything with non-trivial 3D graphics. Cleaning didn't help, nor did underclocking and having fans up to 100%, don't want to take the risk of opening it up to change thermal paste, since my CPU does not have a iGPU. We had a good 8 year run old buddy...

Maybe I'll try finishing the Geneforge series (still have 4 and 5 to go), while looking into the godawful options on the current GPU market.

It's a little grindy but as an ex-EQ player it doesn't seem bad to me at all. Nowhere near as bad as EQ or modern Asian MMOs. I probably wouldn't find it grindy at all if I wasn't playing as a mage. I've spent a stupid amount of time standing around nuking myself to skill up

That was another thing I was thinking of trying, along with changing the thermal paste, but it could potentially fry it completely so it's a no-no at least for now while it outputs at least some image on my monitors.

Killed some time with Loop Hero and Vampire Survivors on my shitty laptop at my parents house. Both are addicting mini games that I'll highly recommend. Loop Hero is kind of terrain and equipment management sim and Vampire Survivors is a good Crimsonland clone which is on early access.

Well I have been wasting my time on Ultima IX yes the worst one. I got to the dungeon of wrong and now the bugs have come. I keep getting crash to desktop in this dungeon. Skeletons spawn crash. Guard catches me crash. The game was kinda fun until now. The story is fucking retarded though. I will say though the dungeons have been rather large and filled with decent puzzles. I think though I have reached my limit with this dogshit and will uninstall when I get home tonight.

Olololol Geneforge plans cancelled, found a pre-built with a 3070 Ti and a 5700g for 1499€. Gonna be slamming that Last Remnant ass so hard if it arrives for the weekend. Or doing benchmarks and crying since the pre-built piece of shit is overheating.

I'm replaying Gothic, and planning to replay Gothic 2 and play Gothic 3 for the first time in anticipation to play Archolos (after hearing so many good things about that mod).

One of the most atmospheric and immersive RPGs I've played. It's amazing what PB did with the NPC schedules and behaviour, and how Bethesda, who try so hard to do the same shit, still couldn't match it even ten years later with Skyrim.

Bloody great game, but now I'm up to the Sleeper's dungeon near the end of it, which is honestly a bit of a slog.

Diego, Milten, Lester and Gorn are among the greatest RPG bros of all time. Those guys feel more like proper companions than the actual, recruitable companions in BioWare's games.

I'm hoping I can smash out the end of this game, and finish Gothic 2 before Elden Ring comes out. Might be fabulously optimistic, though.

Right now I am playing Seven Days to Die with the assorted MEN of the Codex. DU was kind enough to pay for a server, and now we're all shitting it up with our terrible architectural designs. I myself am building a HOLY ZIGGURAT which will reach up to God himself!

Just remember to lower your expectations before starting Gothic 3.

I should clarify by saying that I have actually played several hours of Gothic 3, on a few separate occassions. It was actually the first game in the series I played, back when I was a kid. While I do agree that it's inferior to the first two I still think it seems to be a decent RPG. Only ever finished the liberation of the second town, though, so maybe it all falls apart later.
