I'm playing the original AOW, Cult of Storms campaign, United Cities map. Interesting that Frostlings allied with Elves but not with Halflings and when a combined Elf/Halfling attack killed my Orc allies, Frostlings broke the alliance. Managed to get them by my side with enough offerings of Jew Gold and turns out I saved them from being killed by a huge army of Halflings.

Funny. I never ever even thought of bribing the neutrals on maps with allied victory enabled, I always just destroyed them. As in, the thought never even occured to me. I guess crushing all opposition always seemed like the natural thing to do. I think like a barbarian.

Playing Telltale's The Walking Dead. I think I am almost done with Chapter 1. I kind of like it and hate it at the same time. heh

If you have played them, you would know.

Dude, I've put like 500 hours into Morrowind. Never had those problems. The engine is clunky and hates driver conflicts mostly, but you can get it running smooth, I know because I did. A dozen times. On half a dozen computers.

Or you can uninstall it I guess.

Same with Titan Quest, only with much less time spent.

Titan Quest blows. Come on, how can you make h'n's that bad? How can you fuck mytho themes that bad? Fighting fucking neanderthals and a neanderthal king? The fuck? How can you put gladiuses and alexandrian stuff into game where the first historical persona is Leonidas? Fucking apemen?

Apparently, we, sir, have different views on the meaning of word "smooth". Maybe, if you throw in SSD drive, it may get better. I wonder, if they ever finish OpenMW.

Or maybe you have issues with your PC and the game? I've played more Morrowind than I've hung out with my wife and I'm telling you it is fully capable of running fine and smoothly. Oblivion and Skyrim might always have that rough loading feel out in the open, but Morrowind does not.

And if you want to say your experience is everyone's experience then what... no one should play the game? Everyone is forced to uninstall? I don't get it.

I picked up Chivalry and Red Orchestra 2 for about $10. Playing some Chivalry at the moment. Pretty fun, if not a bit of a clusterfuck. 50% of my deaths are from other teammates, which kinda sucks, but meh, seems to be the nature of the game. I really enjoy playing spear, but was super disappointed to see that the "2nd tier" weapon was a fucking pitchfork. I struck a dude over-hand-style square in the head with a battleaxe and he didn't immediately die, so that kinda turned me off some of the stuff. "Defend/attack the king" maps are my favorite so far. I'm kinda surprised there is no Arab faction out, or at least some desert maps or something.

Bioshock Infinite. Which is a rather retarded title for a game when you think of it. Am enjoying it. Art and graphics are nice, setting is stupid but fun and an npc that follows you without being a pain in the ass is a nice novelty.

Combat however is meh. Not as bad as in the previous Bioshocks but still meh at best. Also I want to see more verticality and freedom instead of the forced linearity I'm seeing now. The setting is tailor made for precisely that but I expect it not to become any more open than it is now. Lame.

Will finish it, then promptly uninstall and forget. Not too bad, not very good either.

Red Orchestra 2. I have to be in a leadership role though or else it's no fun. The levels seem smaller than the original, which means you're shot dead the second you show yourself and there's less room to maneuver.

The original Diablo.

Have started it several times, but never it took it past the catacombs. But even at that, I've come to the conclusion that it is far and away the best single player in the series. You play the game for its own sake, not as loot hoarding e-sport. The way they implemented random quests is brilliant and gives a simple game replay value. My current run is the first time I've had neither the Butcher or King Leoric quests. They cared about the integrity of the setting and atmosphere: attacks and spells are low key, there aren't numbers and colored effects filling the screen, music is exceptional, color palette is almost pitch perfect, loot isn't constantly flying out of monsters, pace is methodical and convinces one of the 'reality' of the situation. As far as play goes, getting a unique equip is a big deal, mob groups are smaller but equally or more dangerous so you're not getting fatigued by click spamming, position and movement (kiting, sometimes fleeing) are more important, character building is simpler-yet each individual choice weighs more. Game so far seems overall tight and focused, which I like. I expect that to carry through to the end, even if the mob packs get larger. Flaws have to do with resolution and limited character animations, and with the walking speed as it is I don't like how far apart the magic vendor is from the central town hub.

It's kind of sad how this sub genre has gone more towards the Diablo 2 loot whore and acts direction, and all the damn bling on the screen makes games like D3 and TL2 feel entirely too gamey and cartoonish.

KC was right when he called it a pixel shooter. Take cover early. See pixel change. Shoot pixel. Hope pixel won't shoot you first. It became a sniper fest pretty quick and hasn't changed since.

Although I do admit it was fun for a bit to call down artillery strikes on the worst camper spots.

Being a platoon commander can be rough, you have to demonstrate that you're willing to "get in the thick of it" to gain the respect of your troopers, also have to scout out areas for artillery striking which usually results in a bullet to the face. With smaller maps the above mentioned issues stand out much more prominently. It's no wonder why the Commander slot is usually open when I join a match, it's much easier just to sit tight and "wait for a pixel to move".

When I started playing it at release it was fun for awhile. People rushing, defending, artillery strikes left and right. Frantic firefights at objectives, grenades bouncing down cellars and so on. Then I started noticing that people stopped moving for an entire match. Simply went for their fav spot time and time again. It only got worse and last time I fired it up there was hardly any back and forth going on. Just pixels sniping other pixels. There's no fun there.

Well, I am pretty much far into playing FNV, but notmuch into the main quest. Running around finishing sidequests and explore. Completing the expansion packs. Pretty much all quests that got a faction-diverse choice was left behind so that when I start seriously into each of the four paths I will have something left to do.

Clock the level cap at Lonesome Roads. The xp range is just too narrow. If I replay it from the start I will add a slower level up mod to widen the gap.

DISHONORED

NO YOUR OTHER DISHONORED

Um. Is ok so far I guess? I just poisoned some still for some crazy granny. Doing maximam non-lethal, but this might fuck me over? Either way really tempted to just backstab everyone. Can I backstab thugs at all? Or is that chaotic?

Wish it was third person. Also wish the stealth wasn't such a joke. It's even more simplistic than Alpha Protocolon. Walk in front of people, no matter how far OH YOU GOT NOTICED because it ignores shadows completely. Walk behind them no probs. Walk behind objects, hit or miss if you get noticed, can't tell. That's. Retarded.

EDIT: ok finished that one. Didn't get ghosting this time but doesn't seem to matter.
