virtue of the personal data available to them

I thought it was standard practice in an enterprise run by adults that you don't share such data to all your employees.
Does amazon grunt working in warehouse knows that you order that big commie dildo and karl marx manifesto in hard cover anniversary edition? Nope, because people who process payments don't share that data to other workers, moreover they are legally bound to not share such data.

I remember when I worked in helpdesk, if we'd use the customer information for anything else than what the call required, we'd gotten shitcanned so fucking fast. In here our laws concerning handling personal "official" information are very strict and who can see and handle the information etc, I imagine it's the same in many other western countries.

Temporary bans, gerey. And DU can do whatever he pleases with the 'dex since he owns it.
Then give a "temporary" ban to Infinitron as well.

And no 'crime' was perpetrated
We have an administrator of this site on record actually threatening a user with exposing his private banking information. Information he should never have been privy to.

That's on a very thin grey line, close to the black.

Temporary bans, gerey. And DU can do whatever he pleases with the 'dex since he owns it.

And no 'crime' was perpetrated among those with access to the admin forum as far as I'm concerned, but the administration can defend itself.

That depends. If it was shared with people who had no right and business to this data[without specific consent of the person whose data is shared], or outside legal limits such as transaction process[lawful processing], or done publicly then many countries deem such thing illegal. This of course is untreceable unless someone spill the beans and told the person whose data was leaked that it was leaked. And yes it is indeed a crime in legal sense -in EU its ruled by GDPR, i dont know how its in australia.Similar in UK
https://www.springhouselaw.com/know...yee-prosecution-for-data-protection-breaches/

If an amazon employee who process payments shared your data with someone else, and you found this out, you could report this to police.

I only donated when I was like "fuck it, who cares anymore" and figured I wont piss of anyone too much to get into drama. My attitude is that a site like this probably won't have great security and you can't really expect it. But you can expect it to try. So I hope everyone isn't gossiping about how I'm secretly a Mormon who lives in Post Falls, ID who pays through Citibank.

going to guess he was searching luckmann's name

When I said he had no opsec I meant it. Virtually anyone can find that site with his username plus obvious key words.

lol that was in a PM. PM used to stand for Private Message.

What's the difference between a private message with multiple recipients and a private board? Pretty much the same thing as far as I'm concerned.

Anyway I'm under the impression Kalin was banned for being obsessed, not "doxing." In the last month:

which led to

Jun 30, 2021 at 11:07 PM - @Infinitron: I will say this Kalin, I am actually starting to think of banning you. You're reaching Carole King levels of weirdness here

A warning he ignored. :M

Remember, this entire shitstorm is happening because I banned Kalin for a measly week for shitposting with my name in a news thread (and this after he deliberately antagonized me for weeks with no response on my end).

Maybe, just maybe, folks shouldn't turn every moderation incident on this forum into THE ULTIMATE FINAL BATTLE FOR FREE SPEECH AGAINST THE KIKES?

So that makes the doxxing okay somehow?

Yes. Oh no, someone looked up someone's personal information and shared it with a select few others. Additionally

Doxing or doxxing is the act of publicly revealing previously private personal information about an individual or organization, usually through the Internet.

Doesn't even qualify as doxing because it didn't happen in public.

And the other guys that got banned? Did they reach Kalin levels of "weirdness"?

Insubordination from people who want to fall on their swords.

You should have called me and the rest bigoted human skidmarks or whatever other insult you can come up with and be done with it. Works for everyone else just fine.

Maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't turn every moderation incident into THE ULTIMATE FINAL BATTLE FOR FREE SPEECH AGAINST THE KIKES?
Well, it went from people using your name, which I gather is a fairly common name, (not that I approve of doing so) to you threatening some users with releasing their private banking information and banning the rest.

Do you think the two things are in any way comparable, do you think this is a reasonable response on any level?

What you're saying is that anyone who is willing to support this site better not do so since you'll have them by the balls for all eternity and share what they post here to everyone they know, both privately and professionally, if they anger you or doing so amuses you. And yes, this is a very big threat to freedom of speech.

You trying to play the victim in all of this is frankly disgusting.

Maybe next time you shouldn't ban, but perhaps adopt DU's methods where you just take away some buttons, and make them play with horsies for a week. It's not like the hammer is the only option, right?

"A few others" - and by that you mean literally anyone else that becomes a mod in the future. They can all just go look up the personal information of any user that donated and inform people IRL what they've been posting on the Codex if they so fancy.

"Wanna make fun of that shit game one of the admins like so much? Better not do so, or they'll inform your colleagues at work what you've been posting in the political subforum."

Sure makes it okay, and it's a great motivation for people to donate to the Codex in the future.

Doesn't even qualify as doxing because it didn't happen in public.
You shared personal information that you had no right to have access to. One of your fuckwits threatened a user with exposure - a threat will remain a reality for as long as the Codex exists or any of your are active online.

Insubordination from people who want to fall on their swords.
