Why does everyone keep saying that 2D is outdated?
My display is 1280x1024. 16:9 windows look a bit awkward, and toggling fullscreen mode results in black stripes or stretching. I don't like either. Maybe I'll grab a DVI/HDMI adapter and try outputting the image on my TV in glorious 1920x1080.spekkio said:Looks to me like somebody forgot to use "Force 16:9 Aspect Ratio" option.
Nope. Machinarium and Muramasa are exceptions. There really should be more 2D games. It's not like they don't gain anything from more powerful hardware: it does allow developers to add extra layers, increase the number of sprites on screen and their resolution. Why doesn't anyone bother to take advantage of it?dr. one said:we don´t?

That explains why 2d games used need 10-20 gigs of HD space and current 3d games are all below 2 gigs...oh wait.Destroid said:I believe creating a large volume of art assets and animating (especially) in 3d is easier and faster than in 2d. Also takes up less storage.
