why the hate on BG3

I sure hate BG3. What a terribly bland and uninteresting game. I regret spending those 10 Argentinian pesos on it.

As much as I hate to say it, it is still the AAA games/franchises that gamers get excited for and pushes the industry.
"Pushes the industry"? I certainly hope so. That it will push the industry from a tall cliff, making more room for indie devs who actually know how to make games. Or at least some of them are willing to learn. Why would i care what excites some unspecified gamers is beyond me.

How did you managed to do that? I wanna learn your master merchant knowledge. Is this restricted to your tribe?

Pushes in the direction of decline. AAA industry or maintain the status quo or pushes towards the decline.

glad to see you're in charge of defining what an indie studio is

reminder that Larian is by definition an indie studio

He's right. They haven't been absorbed by some larger corporation ala Bungie->Microsoft, Westwood->EA etc. and they self-publish their games on PC, only seeking assistance from larger publishers for the console releases. Just because Larian is big (250+ employees) doesn't mean that they're not independent.

It's the impression I get when I read the comments on the annual summertime PC Gamer Youtube vids on PC gaming titles coming up. A lot of bitching about the games looking like "a bunch of indies" and threatening to move over to consoles.

Likely the cohort that always buys the latest GFX cards and rather huge proportion of console gaming crowd.

Let then go to consoles. PC master race community don't need console peasants. I rather play indie masterpieces like KoTC over any AAA action adventure game with stealth elements and lootboxes.
