Lacks option to potentially buy omega very special excellent edition after 15 years if the game gets surprisingly decent feedback
It's already getting mediocre reviews.

So did Fallout: New Vegas. This looks pretty crap but I'll take the Prestigious Poster Consensus when it hits

It's getting mediocre reviews during preview, which is a hint that the game is irredeemable garbage. Shit like Veilguard and Outlaws were praised as being the best thing since sliced bread during their previews.

I haven't seen anything on it yet. I haven't looked. But based on what Outer World looked like and how Obsidian looks, I doubt I will even bother playing this trash.

I will if it's good.

Obsidian's last good RPG was released more than a decade ago, though (hell, I was still a kid at the time), so I won't hold my breath.

the only reason to give a shit about obsidian was firstly chris avellone, and then later j soyman, but now that both are effectively out of the picture all you've got left is a middling studio of overpaid and undertalented cali game devs who think reddit philosophy and LGBT characters make compelling hooks to cover up shit gameplay.

I would play avowed and maybe even pay for it if it turns out to be surprisingly good, which seems incredibly unlikely at this juncture. Even the marketing is self-defeating wherein they boast about it being NOT like skyrim, which kind of defeats the only appeal they had going for this title, that someone might step up to the plate and challenge bethesda on the genre they obstensibly own.

70 burger bucks for a modern Obsidian game after Outer Worlds? Haha no. I don't really bother with Gamepass shit either, and nothing they've revealed so far looks like it's going to be anything other than a game marketed to the illusory modern audience.

No, next Obsidian game I'm playing is Outer Wilds 2, if it ever comes. And even then, only if it looks like they're bringing some next-gen tech and gameplay to the table.

Apparently Josh Sawyer is helping with Avowed. My interest in game got stronger. It currently sits on 5 on a 10 point scale.
I'm 30% willing to play it.

I'll definitely pirate it, and if its good and gets support, buy it on deep discount.

Voted "Yes for free only" but I said the same thing about Outer Worlds and still haven't touched it, nor intend to so probably won't end up playing this shite either lol.

Perhaps not to an army of rpgcodex troglodytes, but to the rest of us their games are pretty good.
Who is this ''us''? Are they in the room with you?
RPG fans other than a minority of haters who prefer games from 30 years ago that weren't even that great. For example, as good as BG1 was in it's day, nobody can seriously claim that it had better gameplay than either of Pillars of Eternity games.

I havent even played Outer Worlds and I got it for free.
I did. It felt like a waste of time.

nobody can seriously claim that it had better gameplay than either of Pillars of Eternity games.
Watch me make that claim. I just recently finished BG1, TotSC, SoD, BG2, and ToB.
