Frack the haters Morrowind doesn't give you potatoface nightmares nor it insults your intelligence by providing you with magic triangle to fallow or forcing you to listen to lame arrow to the knee jokes; in fact guards treat you like a scum at the beginning but change the tone while you gain wealth, recognition and progress into factions; and try the newest Morrowind Overhaul (3.0) unlike previous versions it both looks great and is fast even with drawing put on default 12th cells (which is maybe too beacup around Vos and Ebbonheart though). Other Interesting mods to deepen the RPG element of the game:

Main Quest Extention MQE
Imperial Guards 4.0
LGNPC
Antares Big Mod
Ordo Legionis 0.6
Protective Guards

I would have to look how far I actually got. I don't think it was much higher than the lower 20's.

Every monster in the game has a range of levels it can be at, like a Bear could be level 7-14 for example, something like that. So when you're level 7 and bears start appearing they are way too strong for you, typically. After you pass level 20 though most enemies remain about the same while you get stronger and stronger, so very quickly you become a super god who can't even be hurt. The enemies still have a ton of HP though, so the whole game becomes a massive bore as you wade through dungeons hacking everything 20 times while it can barely scratch you. Meanwhile 10 levels earlier you had to quicksave every thirty seconds in the wild for fear you might stumble on a Spriggan and be instantly killed.

It's a very weird game.
Well, I remember that in my numerous Morrowind playthroughs I seemed to have a problem to 1-shot cliff racers under any circumstances..even with the Tribunal's fiery sword they'd always take at least 2 hits but maybe that was because I wasn't gonna fucking walk everywhere on lvl 50 just to preserve the stupid stamina...

What do you people do to fix alchemy in this game?
For me it's already fixed by the fact that the alchemy interface is tedious and horrible so I've never used it. Dunno what the people who are used to shitty interfaces do to prevent themselves from becoming a god on lvl 3...

That whole comment was about Oblivion.

I don't remember the AI pathfinding/behaviour in general being quite so bad either.

Morrowind's interface is great. You can even resize the windows however you want.l

I'd prefer like most RPGs for it to have one large UI overlay with tabs [inventory, stats, magic, map etc]. Much more fluid that way I find.

Also am I being retarded or is there not a faster way to use inventory items other than selecting the # of items & then dragging them onto the PC model render, such as with potions.

I still kind of like it though, my main issue is the inventory overlay being small but the actual inventory capacity being large so we have to constantly use the fucking sliders back and forth, back and forth, drag to the PC render and so on.

Yes you can resize but ideally not too big because you want the other overlays up too (magic, stats etc)

Reading the manual: Shift + left click to pick up one item off the stack. Doh.

My setup is the best, too bad i lost the screenshots. All the windows are perfectly aligned and don't cover the other elements.

^Yeah but part of the problem is my trusty old laptop needs to be set to low res so I have less space =/

you people are seriously aspie as fuck. just play the fucking game. i bet you sink all this time into the PERFECT OG SETUP then play the game for about an hour and uninstall.
That's half the fun of any mod-able game. Doubly so for Oblivion. I had more fun optimizing uncompressed meshes than playing the actual game.

I tried the gazillion mods thing and got bored of it so I just played unmodded/patched. The exploring is fun but the combat is fairly ass and once you level up a bit nothing is really challenging.

Get glasses dude, it's fine for people with normal vision. I'm so fucking tired of huge fucking menu screens and HUDs made for people who refuse to wear glasses.
