If you think your dumbfuckery is true, you're a braindead idiot. Complaining about "a game for braindead idiots". See the problem there?

The only innovative cRPGs were made in the '70, by researchers and students on academic mainframes. After that there is only commercialisation decline and predatory gaming industry, which only now we are beginning to realize how full of shit it is.

The average codexer is in a sad state. As an adult now, he is playing dumbed down versions of more complex games that he played as a kid.

Learn the definition of argument and come back, you have below 100 iq

Guys I told you Age of Decadence generated so much butt hurt from 'tards. The butt hurt is real. :P
You still dont get it, it's a simplistic game, moreso than every jrpg ever developed, you pick one stat, and level it up, thats the whole game, it requires no thinking 1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1+1

until your stat is at 10

It's ok you didn't get a handle on the game, it's not for everyone. I'm looking forward to Iron Towers next game. :D

FPS.png

This mock image I made (originally "evolution of FPS map design") illustrates what I think regarding WRPGs vs JRPGs. There's really no "J" in it: we only see an FPS that is focused on mazelike design, and an FPS that is focused on linear map design in order to prioritize cutscenes and the telling of a story. So why is it that we call it "corridor shooters", but had they been originated in Japan we would be calling them "JFPSs"? It makes no sense. "JRPGs" aren't their own genre. There are:
  1. Action JRPGs, like Dark Souls, Dragon's Dogma, and the Tales Of series.
  2. Turn-based JRPGs, like Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest.
  3. Dungeon crawler JRPGs, like Etrian Odysses and Stranger of Sword City.
  4. RTwP JRPGs, like Final Fantasy XII.
  5. Tactical JRPGs, like Final Fantasy Tactics and Fire Emblem.
  6. Strategy JRPGs, like Tactics Ogre.
No one has been able to explain what a "JRPG", as a genre, is. That's because it doesn't exist.

Obviously they are not mutually exclusive. Underrail is a great game, but its graphics, well... not so much.
I'd say pretty much everything looks fantastic barring some psy effects. If you're not into sour beers obviously they are going to taste like shit to you, doesn't mean they are bad beers.

Underrail has serviceable graphics. They don't look ugly (Spiderweb) but they don't look great (Pillars of Eternity) either.
