{-83} - link to the script. You need to be very patient to the number. One mistake - script will failed. This is what may be changed from original.

WinMerge software will help you to compare two files. Take pretor from AME and from GOG and you will see all differences.

Thank you for explanation Macbeth ,Indeed there is a lot of work here but I have found all of the changed files and I'm slowly making progress. I should finish retranslation based on 1074 polish version in a month or two.

Update 9 for RePack v1.4.0.x.

What's new:

▪ RePack fixes:
v Fixed the initial age of the half-orc protagonist (rollback of the racial modifier from -10 to the original -5).
v Excluded standard portraits of many previously unaccounted NPCs (racial icons will be displayed instead).
v Fixed problems with returning from the Half Ogre Island.
- Captain of the ship no longer disappears
- In case of an NPC killing, the ship's steering wheel becomes active (the ship can return to the Caladon, and stays there).
v The tailor in Tarant no longer trains for the Persuasion Expert being that Madam Lil teaches the same).
v Appearance and parameters of the Officer's Uniform for two Tarant Officers have been fixed.
v Improved road border textures (less angularity and more smoothing at the joints of tiles).
▪ Issues in the original game:
v Excluded artifacts in skeletons loading screen textures (Splash3.bmp).
v Improved and introduced the location "Scienticians Underground", previously not used by the developers (from the original resources of the game).
- The entrance to the location can be found in one of the warehouses of Tarant.
v Now, a note about the whereabouts of the Archery Expert is entered in the "Rumors & Notes" journal section.
v Innkeeper in Roseborough no longer speaks as a woman.
v The endless wrapping of a positive reaction was excluded from one of the branches of the dialogue with Thorvald from the Isle of Despair.
v The magical blacksmith in Tarant assigned "Warrior Mage Good" level scheme (before he has "Solomon Doone").
v Halfling Guard in Tarant assigned "Temporal Thaumaturgist" level scheme (before he has "Warrior Mage Evil").
v Arthur Tyron from Caladon assigned "Standard NPC Scheme" level scheme. His level was increased from 1 to 45.
v One of the Elite Guards in Caladon assigned the missing "Guard" level scheme.
v Kite Bowman's Strength was increased from 3 to 5 (taking into account the Strength requirement of the Short Bow).
v Killian Drake's alignment from Blackroot was changed from 10 to -30 (according to the alignment of his companions).
v Replaced weapons for several NPCs with unique models (they were not armed due to limited animation).
- For example, Maximillian from the Isle of Isle of Despair now uses Scimitar. Before he used fists, having in inventory Broadsword and Barbarian's Heavy Blade (both were excluded).
v Excluded texture failure at one of the Fancy Chests at the Roseborough Hotel.
▪ Other gameplay modifications:
v Constable Owens in Shrouded Hills now has level scheme "Constable" (before he has "Gun Technologist").
v One of the citizens of Caladon, who practiced Black and White Necromancy, now uses schools of Mental and Black Necromancy.
v Guards in the castle of Caladon now equipted with quality weapons, not simple (for example, Quality Axe insted of Axe).
v Ristezze's Rusty Sword was replaced by Rapier. He was also given the Silver Ring.
v Junk Dealer's Quality Sword was replaced by Rusty Sword.
v State treasury (Fancy Chest) in the castle of Caladon increased from 3705 to 10705 gold.

Compatibility:

v To make the fix of the rewards work properly, you may need to start a new game.
v Delete temporary files prior to launching the game to activate a part of preferences (checkbox "Delete Temporary Files" in the configurator).
v In case of problems with updater start, check the availability of update.exe in update_AME folder.
- If it exists then put this file to exceptions of your Anti-virus (just in case).
- If it is absent, check the quarantine of your Anti-virus (or re-install the AME) and put this file to exceptions.

In general, the cursor disappeared when changing the scaling of the interface in Windows. No one wrote else reasons.

I just reinstalled Arcanum Multiverse Edition, downloaded the update, played for an hour, exited the game. Now, when I start the game and load a save, the game crashes. Any ideas? :(

I have problem with Arcanum too. I had murdered whole Stilwater village in order to get accepted by the Dark Elves, than when I started traveling on the map everything crashed. It crashes all the time. No matter what save I load. I tried also reinstalling the game. It didn't help. Did something similar happened to you guys?

It is a save game corruption, and the only thing to do is to start over. Next time I will save before a quest. I started playing Daggerfall now. Fuck Arcanum!

Yes, adaptation is on-going. Then there will be a repack with all previous changes (patches). Drog updated EXE, so we need to perform some works with our version and testing.

RePack

Arcanum Multiverse Edition is one of several projects in the lineup Another Arcanum. Why the name of our project is "Another Arcanum"? The answer to this question lies in the idea of the game rework until it will be ideal from our point of view. Working with graphics, layout of locations, the balance of text and dialogue, we are gradually bringing Arcanum to the kind in which he could see the light even in the distant 2001.

Multilanguage.
Preparing RePack we proceeded from the fact that all our fixes are compatible with both the Russian and English versions of the game. Selecting a language does not affect the performance of edits.

Original cut-out graphics was integrated.
In the beta versions of Arcanum and the release version libraries, there was additional graphics that were not included in the game. An example of such graphics are items, objects, NPC animation and portraits for characters of different races and sexes.

New items have been created based on the restored graphics.
Thus, we found the use of unused original content and were able to solve the problem of identical appearance in different subjects.

The properties of a number of objects and schemes for their assembly have been refined.
For example, visual inconsistencies between diagrams and objects, as well as their technical characteristics (use, ammunition consumption, etc.) were eliminated.

Maps from Mapper's Mod integrated
We have eliminated many visual shortcomings in both the graphics and in the layout of locations. The basis of the mod includes fixing the position of objects, creating missing textures, working with lighting and much more. More in detail with all this you can find here.

Integration of HQ townmaps of locations.
In the corresponding locations observation window picture mode will be smoother.
This applies not only to the early version of the townmaps, we process them after all the changes that are made to the layout of the locations.

Some soundtracks were replaced.
Original cut-out ambient of the release version has been replaced by a more complete from the beta-version.

Original lossless music was integrated.
Tracks in lossless quality we personally handed us by the composer Ben Houge, so that the quality of these tracks can be no doubt. Perhaps the owners of the integrated sound card and standard speakers will not appreciate our efforts, but I hope that everyone else will like it.

Partially modified gameplay.
Some edits and additions touched dialogue and scripted scenes, namely the relation of words and NPC actions.

Integrated Arcanum High Resolution Patch.
The latest version of the patch for high resolution includes a framework for the centered parts of the interface and two options for the background of the main menu, hiding visual artifacts after installing the patch.

Selection of fixes from some third-party patches:
- 1.0.7.5.
- Unofficial Arcanum Patch (UAP).
- Grand Fix (GF).
- alpha patch.
Also, work was done on independent search for problems and their solution for our own patch Multiverse Patch.

Configurator and launcher were created for easy compatibility settings with Windows 8, 8.1 и 10.
Configurator includes the following:
- Technical options for solving problems with the performance of the game.
- Options selection for which you previously needed to register keys in the properties of the shortcut.
- Advanced game settings.
- Arcanum High Resolution Patch tuning.
- Optional autoupdate.

Official Troika Games modules were integrated.

Bonuses section issued.
In the folder with the installer you can find a lot of official materials — concept artwork made by the developers, notes to the soundtrack, wallpapers, etc.

Other Projects

Arcanum Multiverse Edition — first project in Another Arcanum series. Two other projects are based on our RePack and are fully compatible with it.

Sir's Expectations Modpack — addition to the main story module, which includes large-scale developments that go beyond editing and restoring content in Arcanum Multiverse Edition (included in the RePack optionaly).

Arcanum: Legacy of Vendigroth — an add-on based on the Beatrice module, the storyline of which is a continuation of the game after the events of its main quest (in development).

Graphics and Design

• The problem with the absence of two character portraits has been resolved.
- Restored one of the female portraits of half elves, accidentally overwritten by another (taken from the beta version of the game).
- Added another missing half elf portrait from the beta version of the game.
• The original interface borders for High-Res have been replaced with our own, more textured ones.
- In this textures version, the shadows from the upper panel are removed (taking into account the indentation between the upper and central panels).
• Fixed textures on character selection and creation screens (Pick Character и Create Char). UAP
- Fixed shadows from the top panel (art for standard resolution 800x600, non High-Res).
- Adjusted position of the buttons and their substrates on the character creation screen (portrait, gender, race and backgroung).
• Fixed textures on the character editing screen (Character Editor). UAP
- Health and Fatigue indicators are fixed. In particular, the heart icon on the Health indicator (color and contour).
- Small characteristics buttons are cleaned from the texture of the stat indicator. Stratification on the Health and Fatigue indicators has been fixed.
• Fixed textures of the bottom panel of the interface (game window).
- Smoothed the borders of the buttons of Battle, Skills, Schemes and Spells (as in the Character Editor).
- Partially restored original textures (flaws of early processing were excluded).
• Fixed grid and colors of cells on the inventory panels (a unified view of the texture). UAP
• Fixed tree and round window textures on townmap screen and on the world map.
• Fixed typo on the Salty's Map (Stringy Pete'f Cove ⇒ Stringy Pete's Cove).
• Maps in the inventory now look like maps, not notes.
• Fixed textures of all barbaric armour. UAP
- Medium sizes fixed sleeve transparency.
- Changed textures of small sizes (in the original they look medium). The new options are based on the texture of Bronzed Plate, suitable in size.
- Based on this, the texture of the Bronzed Plate itself has been replaced. Now it differs from medium sizes only in color.
• Fixed textures of Half Ogre clothing. UAP
- Large Heavy Wool Clothes (character doll view).
- Heavy Rags (character doll view).
- Large Wool Jacket (inventory view).
• Bingham's Shovel now has a unique look in the inventory. Assigned previously added art.
• Fixed previously missed textures in Mapper's Mod.
- Elven hut in Qintarra (full view). In the original, it had graphic flaws, as well as amended (excluded flaws early processing).
- Passage to the chambers of the Silver Lady. Now the color of the carved door matches the color on the facade of the tree.
- Moored boat fixed water texture.
- Other minor bug fixes. Correction of angular tiles, cut corners of walls, dips in textures, etc.
- New version of HQ townmaps was generated.

Balance and Gameplay

Arcanum Multiverse Edition:
• Additional backgrounds are now part of Sir's Expectations Modpack.
• Added the ability to disable the development schemes of the party members. UAP
- Now you can independently distribute their experience points.
- In the quick command menu an item "Schematics" appeared (in case of it is not provided in the dialogue).
• Now, based on logic, the description of Gar in the Character Editor says that he is an orc and not a human (until he is exposed by the player). UAP
- He will also disappear when he leaves the party, and not return to the H.T. Parnell's museum.
• Orcs and Gar now can wear technological armour. UAP
• Arronax's protective shell can no longer be destroyed by targeted spells. UAP
• The opportunity to avoid dialogue with the Molochean Hand agent at the Crash Site has been excluded (the radius of the script command has been increased by 1 tile).
• Fixed development scheme "Pure Melee-Dodge". Dexterity now always reaches its maximum (DX:20), if this is not hindered by penalties. UAP
• Purity of Water
• NPC will no longer cast spell Purity of Water during combat (it gives bonus to Beauty). UAP
• Now the corpses of the bandits in the Shrouded Hills Inn will be removed if the protagonist reports about them to Constable Owens.
• The characteristics of NPCs are unified in several places of their appearance.
• Half Ogre Island again available for teleportation, as in the original. UAP
• Changed the initial inventory of some characters-protagonists.
- Merwin Tumblebrook now has a Short Bow and Arrows instead of the Dagger (the development scheme does not provide for improving Melee).
- Godfrey Castleburger and Lugard Bloodstone now has a Flintlock Pistol and Bullets instead of the Dagger (same situation with the development scheme).
- Clarisse Vorak and Ker'ee Melange now has Worn Ladies Boots instead of Shoes.
• The inventory of many NPCs has been changed. Some items were handed out taking into account the temperament and alignment of the characters.
• Wooden chests and a barrel are filled in the house of Damian Maug.
• Rollback weapon with script damage using Fuel and Batteries.
- Modification moved to Sir's Expectations Modpack. By default, the original weapon parameters remain.
• The discrepancy between the English and Russian versions of the effect descriptions is eliminated. In the English version, they were absent in a number of items.
• Technical manuals can now be read (used original text of the books).
- Also added a description of the effect.
• Gilbert Bates' ring given to the Molochean Hand agent in the Shrouded Hills will be with him at the moment of meeting behind the bridge to the city (of course, if it had not been stolen before that).
- Also, based on logic, the Note and Poison were removed from him, which will now be with him only at the time of this meeting.

Early version: "You start with a wonderful suit of magickal elven chain mail, but suffer a slight penalty to all Tech skills."
• Developed the initial inventory for backgrounds.
- For technical reasons, it does not affect the backgrounds whose effects are in the game engine.
• Added dialogue with half ogre Polgram, not provided in the original.
• Added availability to deliver Package for Jongle Dunne after repairing steam engine (Persuasion 6+).
• Sogg Mead Mug will join the half-ogre protagonist regardless of the amount of Charisma.
• In case of cooperation with poachers and betrayal of the bedokaan, the protagonist will receive a minus to karma.
• Cues for the gnome protagonist have been added to the dialogue with Thorvald Two Stones.

- Instead of skill bonuses, 15 free skill points are given.
- Instead of +4 to Dexterity, stats of blessings of the Elder Gods were left:
+2 to Willpower, +2 to Perception (Halcyon), +1 to Beauty, +1 to Charisma (Kai'tan).
- Another bonuses (+30 resistance to damage and magic, +100 to Health and Fatigue) left as is.
• Weapon was rebalanced (.\Documents\SEM Rebalance.ods).
- For example, Tesla Gun damage increased from 10-80 to 40-100, and Battery consumption is reduced from 4 to 2.
• Changed the order, parameters and descriptions of some spells (.\Documents\SEM Rebalance.ods).
- For example, spells Harm and Conjure Spirit were swapped. Harm spell now can heal the undead.
• Increased damage of Concussion Grenade.
- D:25-50 F:10-20 ⇒ D:30-100 F:15-50
• Technical aptitude of Brewer's Yeast was reduced from 25 to 20.
- For the Fuel manufacturing it is enough to study the first 2 schemes in Chemistry.
• Added chematic "Bullets" to the product range of Slim Pickens from Shrouded Hills.
• Number of manufactured Bullets increased from 20 to 50.
• Strong Poison technical aptitude reduced from 75 to 20.
• Changed Potion of Persuasion.
- Added +2 to Haggle.
• The effect of the Essence of Intellect, Liquid of Skin Thickening, Potion of Haste, and Kalispi's Venom has been changed.
- Now they act in proportion to the magickal aptitude and useless for technologists.
• Increased chance of selling Black Powder.
- at Gunsmiths up to 100%.
- at General Store up to 70%.
• Increased chance of selling Oak Axe Handle up to 50%.

We'll keep on working!

We plan to release 1.6.0.1 update in 18th May.
At this moment there is just 1 critical bug with Loghaire Thunder Stone (game crashes when you start dialog after he's come back to the Wheel Clan).
So here is hotfix for him (must be unpacked into the main directory).

In other ways AME works fine.

From what I've read, the lead dev didn't agree with adding the new races - especially dark elf. I'm also not able to auto-update from 1.4.0.9 - can this be installed over, or do we need to uninstall old versions, or can we expect to auto-update soon?

For example, premade characters from latest version of UAP (even optional).
Ok got it. But just out of curiosity why didn't you like dark elf race? I mean it would probably be the best choice to role play evil wizard/necromancer type of character.

According to Arcanum lore dark elves are not a race, but ideology. Just look at Zan Alurin portrait. She has not white skin like in D&D.
We'd like not to go against Arcanum lore.

Ok got it. But just out of curiosity why didn't you like dark elf race? I mean it would probably be the best choice to role play evil wizard/necromancer type of character.

Actually, in the World Editor there is a race Dark Elf with their own parameters, BUT no one in Arcanum ever said about them that they are race. Therefore we've decided that maybe Troika wanted to make a different race, but they changed their mind in the beginning. Otherwise there would be any other traces in dialogues or books.

I've tried to install via the Setup.exe from Google Drive, but Defender is blocking it saying it finds the Occamy.c trojan. I've had this problem on 2 different machines. No one else having this problem?
