It's Zed's character, it's supposed to look stupid!

I've been trying to play Diablo2 again, and it runs too fucking fast. Animations are about twice as fast as they should be. Everything about the game has been sped up, and I can't find any complaints about it on the Internet, and therefore, no fixes.

What the fuck. This is broken all to shit.

The Glide wrapper seems to work flawlessly, though.

Laptop? Try to disable any power saving CPU throttling you may have.

"The characters models(armor) are fucktup, its little bit linear, not much diversity, it gets better much later on" HOW MANY Excuses you have to come with it to admit that you bought a shity product, that you admittedly have fun now, but after 2 weeks, u will forget anything about it...Because is just that GOOD! Man i just wish i had a company where my customers where so brainwashed, by my past achievements, that i could sell shit to them for 60$ and they will buy it and scream about how good it is. I got to say, my hat off to Blizzard.

No power saving. I tried affinity to CPU 0, but it looks like everything in the game is tuned to these animations in multiplayer. I.E. it's "server-approved". About 3/4 speed of this video:

Is there any place where I can acquire an older version of Diablo2, like 1.03 perhaps, and just stick to LAN play?

Well I've only started Diablo 3 two days ago, didn't want to have connection problems (which in hindsight was the clever thing to do: never had any lag nor disconnection so I didn't get to rage) and just started Act 3 on normal: man it sure does feel satisfying being a barbarian during that siege, it's like the ultimate gory popamole ever. Of course Thane Solus that I'll be bored by it in about a week or two but that's the whole point: most of the games are too long for me these days if they only appeal to the visceral part of my brain. I never did finish Skyrim or Amalur, they were way too long. Two weeks out of a mindless hack'n'slash is alright by me, at least I get to see the ending.

That was not the case with the two last games I really enjoyed on all levels: "Bloodlines" and "FO:NV" (didn't want them to finish) but we're not talking about the same kind of games. It's like comparing Tarkovski with "Starship Troopers" (which is a great movie by the way, I love Verhoeven, I just didn't want to use the Michael Bay metaphor for Bay movies are boring and "Diablo 3" is not). And of course the level of writing in "Bloodlines" and "FO:NV" is nowhere near the cinematography of Tarkovski but I was signifying that all of these works were more than only escapism and awesome buttons, even if done right.

By the way, games who genuinely try to "do" Tarkovski such as "Braid" or "Sword and Sworcery" are the ultimate abomination for me, much more than "Diablo 3" or "Modern Warfare 3". Those moronic college students trying to sound deep and "redefining the medium" while delivering pretentious teenage poetry garbage just get on my nerves like nothing else.

Tarkovsky is a pretentious douche of highest caliber. "Event Horizon" was a better Solaris movie than his actual "Solaris".

I do like a lot of what the "Braid" creator says about gaming industry, I just don't see it reflecting in his games.

Well I also loved "Event Horizon" even if the end was a let-down. The best scene was the log they found on their arrival on the ship with those orgies in blood: pure fucking nightmare. After that it seemed a bit bland. Anderson should have gone in full nightmare mode instead of sliding down to a Hellraiser sequel level. I guess his budget was too high to let him do that. He should have crowdfunded it ;).

By the way I didn't really like "Solaris", I even enjoyed more the Soderbergh one (blasphemy, I know). I was thinking more about "Andrei Rublev" or "Stalker". But even the name "Tarkovski" was a cypher in my metaphor, I could have used "Orson Welles", "Raoul Walsh" or "Kubrick" as well. Meaning: "not popamole".

How come? I've always found you one of the most reasonable and polite posters around....
I basically told people to not buy Puzzle Quest 2 after saying that the design is utter shit and just grindy rather than fun (basically the fact that the AI can get massive combos pretty much at will, and yet the developers claim it doesn't cheat... complete fucking bullshit). I guess I upset the developers, poor tender souls that they are.

Aw man, I liked Puzzle Quest 2. Yeah, the AI was wonky, and yeah the itemization was sort of shit and the game went on too long but... eh.

"Puzzle Quest 2" is quite close to "Diablo 3" in terms of addictive mechanisms. A barely existent narrative, some kind of lite "strategy" and this awesome casino addiction system: in "Diablo 3" it's loot drops and in "Puzzle Quest 2" it's the satisfaction of seeing half of the screen cleared by a random chain of pearls getting aligned.

I think you should buy it, pirating it is like pirating Terraria or WOW, it's not the real deal. You'll squeeze some fun out of it if you don't expect too much: it's Diablo crossed with a WOW community environment and shenanigans, nothing more nothing less. For me it's alright for I have always enjoyed WOW and the Blizzard way of screwing your head.

PVE is quite fun for the moment being. Bosses are completely WOW-like. We'll see about PVP when the patch is released.

Just finished it on normal. Loved it. Total playtime of 19 hours 38 minutes, and my Demon Hunter leveled to 33 once she downed Diablo. Looking forward to Nightmare and beyond.

Remind me to never try posting on the Battle.net forums ever again.

Point out a legitimate problem with game (shitty instanced bosses that mean replaying 5-minute fights every time you get one-shotted because your cooldown was 0.1 seconds off = replay the entire fight, fucker!) and all you get is waves of morons going "lern 2 play" and "co-op." No wonder Blizzard are so arrogant, for every person who criticizes them they have a hundred who are willing to put up with anything.
