Official Voice of Japan, Greater East Asia and the East Asian Federation
Greater East Asian Economy on the Rise!
As the end of 2012 draws near, financial experts are pleased to announce that our Federation shines ever so brightly as a beacon of hope, liberty and prosperity in the world. While several countries remain deeply embroiled in the global financial crisis, our own economy is doing incredibly well, exceeding all previous expectations. The current account surplus of the East Asian Federation has reached an all-time high, and our growth shows no signs of receding.
Superior skills, high dedication, exceptional work ethics and unrivalled expertise in the fields of telecommunications, aerospace technology and heavy industry are all seen as key reasons for our continuous success. While some apparently seek to deny men and women their right to fulfil their own potential, primarily by subjecting them to bureaucratic socialism, the East Asian example proves once and for all that hard, honest labour in a healthy, free market economy is the only true source of spiritual and material progress.
Emperor to Honour Japanese Scientists
Court officials revealed earlier today that our Heavenly Sovereign, his Imperial Majesty the Emperor of Japan, Defender of Peace and Justice, Eternal Friend of all Peoples of Earth, is to award Aizawa Hiroshi and Sasaki Machiko with the prestigious Order of Culture. Aizawa and Sasaki have both been instrumental in the development of our own, independent Trans-Newtonian Technology. In particular, their hard work has laid the foundation for our recently announced Mass Driver project, estimated to be finished by mid-2014.
While some have expressed concern regarding the possibility of the United States or the European Union finishing their Mass Driver projects before us, the Imperial Herald wishes to remind its readers that space exploration is one hundred per cent serious business, not a frivolous competition, nor a race of any kind.
"Safety and proper precautions will always come first", Sasaki said in a recent interview, and her colleague Aizawa concluded that "while we cannot say for sure whether we will build the first major Mass Driver or not, we guarantee that ours will be as safe, optimal and well-crafted as humanly possible." Such commendable dedication to quality and safety is a perfect testament to the inherent purity and virtues of the Greater East Asian peoples.
As per tradition, the awards ceremony is to be held in the Imperial Palace on Culture Day, 3 November.
