i honestly don't understand why you would play Veilguard to begin with.
I ask that myself all the time. I wanted to finish off the story was my goal.
for what it's worth i highly doubt Avowed will be as bad as Veilguard.

Why? I am not sure current Obsidian is any less woke than current Bioware. And the truth is that as much as we shit on Veilguard it's at least a 6/10 game. Somehow I am not convinced Avowed is on that level.

I don't know if I can handle another fake pretending rpg that is just trying to deliver modern culture propoganda messages.

Veilguard wore me out, some parts were interesting. But the modern day crap was so terrible, forced.

I really hope this game won't be like that but it's starting to feel very rainbow.

A young sailor boards the ship for the first time, and the bosun gives him a task:
"Go to the pharmacy and buy a pack of condoms and a bottle of nausea pills."
The sailor goes, buys them, and comes back. But the bosun says:
"No, no, go back and buy double the amount!"
The sailor obeys and returns with more. The bosun sends him again:
"Still not enough! Go get even more!"
This goes on several times, until the pharmacist, puzzled, finally asks the young sailor:
"Look, if it makes you so sick, why do you keep doing it?"

Me on the other hand, I don't have such problems, not playing slop and all...

Veilguard:

1. Wants to be indentified as a party-based game
2. Your party members don't have HP and can't be attacked
3. They're literally just awesome buttons on a cooldown

It's like bait but in videogame form.

But at least Veilguard has awesome button combat. It is not clear to me what Avowed has which makes it better than Veilguard. Not better combat, writing, art, anything.

Is this true? The party members can't even be attacked? Does the enemy just ignore them? That might be the worst thing I've heard about that game yet, which is really saying something.

Cover art expresses wonderfully what a pool of vomit the art style of the game is.
it's the most generic digital ArtStation bullshit you're used to seeing
it evokes nothing but a general sense of roteness, of a modern day digital artist going through the motions and drawing inspiration from a sea of similarly derivative gay shit
it strikes of something only a woman would approve
Oh, yeah that’s definitely the most generic cover art possible. Should’ve used a picture of a “cool” guy with slightly tilted figure facing the screen, or a main cast of characters doing some wacky expressions
it's art for people who think shit like this is art
RWIskor.png

it's visual pollution is what it is, with negative merit
my day is a little bit worse just by seeing this shit, and a lot worse when I sound out Avowed out loud

Clearly I should be submitting my portfolio and résumé to Obsidian's art team.

More seriously, another DA4-style situation brewing. That artstyle's on a hiding to nothing. The devs are the intended audience at the expense of the consumer. Also, probably representative of more drastic overestimation of the ever-elusive "modern" audience extant only on social media. Speculate >50% chance it's a financial bust. It'll live or die longer term based on mechanical engagement and it isn't looking good there either.

Do not forget that this colossal faggot is the art director at Obsidian. Quality is not important here, it's diversity that is. Might explain the COLOURFUL vomit art of Avowed.

Unless they changed it, apparently the only time enemies attack companions is when they use their mmo tank pull skills. People were pretty mad about it.

I'm assuming Avowed companions at least have health bars, which already make it the better game.

Hardly any difference between the characters you can make in Avoid and Baldur's Gate 3. Of course they're going to show off the diversity, because they're token-collecting liberals.
A Gith in BG3 looks like a Gith, a tiefling in BG3 looks like a tiefling, etc.
A Godlike in Avowed DOES NOT look like a Godlike.

How the fuck do you go from this...
