I actually rack that up to the focus on the epic!!!1!
All the cosmic power crap pushes out any room for the mundane and more personal sorts of stories. It's why some people like myself generally prefer lower level games and some people unironically like Dragon Age 2.

Yeah, Kingmaker was much better for roleplaying (although it gets pretty high powered at the end,) hopefully Owlcats next game is focused on the lower levels. Early game d&d is underappreciated nowadays, i really like the lethality and the tendency towards more down to earth problems.

occasional mild criticism

Mild criticism? One of my posts criticizing owlcat https://rpgcodex.net/forums/threads...s-release-thread.139979/page-343#post-7513928

Dhampir mage/sorcerer with the absurd high-level munchkin powers in the game is already beyond most normal vampires. Especially since you don't have weakness to sunlight.

Yep. In chapter 2 a dhampir/cruoromancer "blood necromancer" following the lich mythic path is probably already stronger than Strahd in 2E(his level is 16 in 2E). But IMO weaknesses and hindrances are part of what makes a character more interesting. IMO vampires should be weak vs sunlight, vs fire, vs holy and have other drawbacks. Is sad that WoTC is getting rid of negative racial scores. They already got rid of prohibited schools for specialist mages, got rid of racial weaknesses... Again, not criticizing Larian, it is Wotc fault. But would be cool if they implement a homebrew way to get a great power at a great risk.

Think on slayer form but less powerful and permanent.

Good news for you. There are no other mythic adventure path for then to adapt and as I've discussed in WoTR thread, the own developers said that was too hard to design mythic encounters. Most adventure paths from Paizo end around lv 15 which is not low level. Is the same lv cap of wake of the ravager, a game where you fight a freaking Tarrasque.

It is hilarious how retarded NPCs think there is no racial negative modifiers.

When the standard that everyone is measured against get +1 to all stats, and your Mary Sue race doesn't get +1 to some stats, those stats are effectively negative modifiers.

This game is amazing, I liked playing it, but honestly, I wish that OwlCat had taken other module to adapt.
Oh, wow. Don't be too hard on them now!

Yeah, so it's not an issue with BG3 or Larian and more an issue with WotC and your personal obsession with power fantasies and cliché vampires.

Not really, but it is still disappointing to know that such mentally incapacitated specimens of humanity exist. The average chimpanzee would out-think the lot of them.

Spells efects outside of combat are the same as in Pathfinder they just help you skillchecks nothing special and you don't even need to cast them just select them before rolling dice

That only applies to abilities and spells that you can cast mid-conversation to affect the dice rolls though.

Sorcerers in 5E have a smaller spell list than Wizards and are generally mostly pew pew (not sure why they did that, but I guess WoTC needed to remind us that they're in deed WIZARDs of the Coast).

But there should still be a few good out-of-combat ones you can pick up that aren't just skill checks - Disguise Self, Minor Illusion, Detect Thoughts, etc.

That was 2 1/2 years ago... there is still no release date for this game.
Owlcat kickstarted, developed and released WotR in less than 2 years. 25 classes, 5+ archetypes for each class, 9 mythic paths...

Sorcs... woooooow...

To be fair, cutscenes and all that crap take a lot of work. If they didn't have that large number animated dialogue cutscenes and bioware style events, they'd probably be done already. Pathfinder archetypes are mostly redundant with just one of the class abilities swapped for a different class' ability (i.e. vivisectionist is just alchemist with sneak attack die instead of bombs) and if you're lucky you get a new ability or two (i.e. Swordsaint has canny dodge). The mythic paths are probably the more distinct classes. Spells themselves are mostly just the same spells being recycled throughout all the classes. The same is true for the mythic path spells for the most part. At the same Owlcat already developed most of their assets in the previous game and were reusing them.

ban wrath trannies from our glorious thread

Yep. But only if it also applies to Larian cultists. Lets see if they can discuss BG3.

if you need 500 different spells at level 1 you might just have ADHD

No, is just that a lot of iconic 5E spells are missing. And I'm not talking about high level spells. Look at this mod > https://www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/mods/125

I suggest playing with that mod. It adds a lot of low level(1/2/3) spells which Larian din't implemented.

Sunri is making bg3 look pretty fun. Way more effective than the trailers and demos Larian showed off. I'm excited now.
