The cinematic looks way better than the in-game imo.

So it's a DnD-style mod for Divinity OS. Will probably get it, but know that it's Baldur's Gate in name only.
No, you clearly didn't follow the presentation. You can bang an half-elf divine spellcaster. That's the core of the BG games.

So? In divinity you can bang a skeleton-dude. Also, unfortunately, in BG there are no half-elf romances, only pure elves, or human.
Jaheira: half-elf
Viconia: drow (a particular subrace of elves)
Aerie: avariel (a particular subrace of elves)

What games have you played?

so you would have come out as an incel right on a huge world wide live stream and asked if you could fuck a video game character? Is that what you are saying?

Not determining every action is not a virtue in an RPG with distinct characters who are expected to make specific choices

It is when you need basic actions, hitting the enemy 5 times in real time is better than it taking 5 turns. Also I've watched people play PoEs or at least PoE2 at max speed, in combat.

The fastest system is watching the gameplay on Youtube with 3x speed.

Jokes on you! Youtube's max speed is 2x.

"Spirit of original Baldur's gate"

It was fancy spell casting animations. Jesus, get over it. They were never great games to have a "spirit".
This was already posted as a joke 100 (or maybe 200) pages ago.

Do you think the game is just cool spell animations? That's the "spirit" of the game? What a dumb man, like that guy who said the game was just about having sex with elves.
Okay, I am ready to admit that maybe the game is not ONLY about having sex with elves. But it still remains 80% of it.

Here's the thing. Even if RTwP was objectively faster (it isn't), that still doesn't fix all of its other issues we've discussed to death on this forum. TB doesn't have issues that need "fixing" with RTwP, RTwP on the other hand has tons of issues that require arcane solutions if they can even be solved. I don't think this thread is the place to talk about this anymore, BG3 is TB and that's incline, go to the other threads where this is discussed and read the responses there, especially in the one I linked.

Have you considered the possibility that it was also my post.
I am sorry, my mind is still obfuscated by Swen dipping his bow into the fire.

One thing Larian could've done differently to troll the entire RPG audience is go with RTT system (Real Time Turns).

Basically you queue up your moves during your turn, and the enemy does the same, then you have like 5-6 second turn where everybody is moving at the same time executing commands and you as a player have no control over it. Then it's back to issuing commands again. It has both the franticness and awesome explosions of RTwP and meticulousness of a TB system. And if pretty much hated by everyone. I only saw some JRPGs trying to implement it and it's a majestic chaos. It's a shame they didn't go this route. The butthurt would be glorious and everybody would remember BG3 for years and years :P
you sure you are not describing simultaneous turn based system? This is a thing, and actually lots of people like it. Its used in lots of games (numerous war games) not just cluster fuck Japanese games, unless you are describing something else and I am misunderstanding.

Simultaneously executed and clock-based turns
In simultaneously executed games (also called "phase-based" or "We-Go"), turns are separated into two distinct phases: decision and execution. During the decision phase each player plans and determines his units' actions. The decision phase occurs at the same time for everyone, so there is little wait for anyone to finish. In the execution phase, all players' decisions are put into action, and these actions are performed more or less automatically and at the same time. The execution phase is non-interactive, and there is no waiting for other players to complete their turns. One early example is the 1959 board game Diplomacy. Video game examples include Laser Squad Nemesis (2003), the Combat Mission series (2000–) and Master of Orion (1993–2003) series.

It seems I am. Thing is I'm unfamiliar with wargaming and outside of some JRPG's (and people were complaining about it) never really saw this system implemented in western or european RPGs. (games like MOO don't count here).
thats fine, there are actually games designed like this, even D&D at one point. Even some fairly high profile games coming out this year are going to use it I noticed. But in the past it has been a thing in wargaming, largely, although it has appeared elsewhere too. The Slitherine game 'Battlestar Galactica" uses such a system.

It is objectively faster and stop with the "we already discussed this and that already" shit at the same time bringing up those aspects while I'm only discussing speed/stating one fact here.

I honestly can't believe they promise to have 2 humorous dialogue choices out of every 5. And even advertised it as 'Larian Branded' Humor at that. I guess there is a big market of tards out there loving this shit. I mean its right there in the damn steam advertisement, unless someone is just fucking with me. Which might be the case. I honestly find it hard to believe.
Excuse me I love the low int dialogue from fallout.
that is a completely different thing. That is a game changing its specific dialogue choices based on your current and specific character build or status, which is epic.

If only you had played 1 roguelike (let's say ToME) in your entire life, you wouldn't state things like this, I don't know what more I can say.

He's setting his arrows on fire, it's just an abstraction, get over it, lol.
No no, he is literally dipping his bow into the fire and the bow becomes grossly incandendescent as a result:

But you are right, I definitely need to get a life. It's just a coping mechanism to tone down my excitement. I don't want to get hurt.

Yeah, I know he dipped the bow and it jerked me out of the moment, but I suppose it's fine as a representation of the arrows being on fire. I hope we can't dip all weapons in fire, that's getting silly.

If the balance is so shit that it destroys any sense of challenge and/or completely undermines/benefits certain playstyles, then there's really not any meaningful enjoyment to be had with the game...

NO, not true.

I explained in other thread

"By the love of Adanos. All masterpieces among the RPG genre are extremely unbalanced. Baldur's Gate 2? Can be soloed with certain builds and is extremely hard in another. Diablo 1 and 2? Some builds can beat the game naked where others rely a lot of gear. Might & Magic VI? Your party composition will determine the game difficulty. Demon/Dark Souls? Beating DS2 as a Rapier of Chaos(or spearman) Hexer or a Black knight Halberd Paladin is far easier than with a unarmored swordsman without a shield.

On VtMB, there are no way to make the Nosferatu curse(being deformed and not being able to even be seen by kine without breaking the masquarede) and not make a highly social game exponentially harder than a Ventrue gameplay.

Gothic is considered a masterpiece among the genre exactly because of immersion, variety and amazing sense of progression. All Gothic games(except arcania) have you going from nothing to one of the most powerful entities on the world. On G1, you can start as a nobody that a wolf can tear apart in a fraction of second and end the game as someone capable to defeating a archdemon who isw worshiped as a God. Gothic 2 follows the same formula and put the player in valley of mines on chapter 2, where he needs to think outside the box to evade facing much tougher enemies and later in the game, in the same region, now he can defeat the enemies that he was fleeing, giving a amazing sense of progression . Gothic 3 too. As a Water mage, on the beginning, i din't even had magic, i had to find someone able and willing to teach me, spend some levels only on ancient knowledge and once i learned my first water magic spell, i could only cast 6 or 3 Ice Lances per rest(3 if charged). In end game? A image worth more than just words"

HEll, magic on gothic 1/2 is satisfying exactly because is harder than melee.

People like unbalanced games because they get to steamroll through the encounters and that makes them feel smart. While the reality is something completely different.
