So, anyone else going to tell me "oh, they are going to find an excuse and it's not going to be a retcon"? What a joke. And it isn't only about height, it's about weight too. A child can't undergo ceremorphosis. Or even an adult who weighs like 50kg.

Sure. The height restriction has been gone for a while.
Here's Volo's Guide to Monsters on it, notice it merely says "humanoids"

If only Larian would adopt classy Baldurs Gate aesthetics, writing and characterization to go with their combat system, the only thing they're actually good at, this could work very nicely.

Unfortunately they're complacent after the success of DOS and haven't cottoned on to the fact that no-one likes their world building and shitty writing. They will be tonally exposed under the the weight of such a beloved IP unless they change direction soon.

Thats what i always assumed. This is more of a "magical" technology, not "futuristic" technology.
The D&D multiverse is a magitech setting.

Magic=tech

ancient magic=advanced tecnology

There is some old adventure that have robot, power armor and laser in it.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expedition_to_the_Barrier_Peaks
Expedition to the Barrier Peaks is essentially a one-off "gag" adventure from back in the day before D&D became serius biznis and there was a "D&D multiverse". It doesn't mean d&d is a magitech setting, unless of course an individual DM wants it to be. Spelljammers are not like sci-fi spaceships.

Advanced ubiquitous magic always seems to end up working just like technology.

Aha, so the defilement of lore is from 5E. What does a centaur mind flayer look like?
Nearly all of the "mindflayer lore" originates from a single source. The book itself is intended to be the notes of an actual character that exists in FR lore, and let's just say that said character isn't the most reliable (or sane) of narrators.

here jesus
Yeah, sorry, too drunk to translate it properly myself. Anyway, there's nothing worth noticing besides that, unfortunately. I wonder how reaction would be any different if not the fan's outrage.
Here the head of St.Peterburg's branch assures that "they will be getting rid of old DivOS2 assets over time, redrawing icons, changing interface etc"
Визуальный стиль сейчас, опять же, более реалистичный и более мрачный, чем был в OS2 — это тоже серьезное отличие

The only real difference that I notice is more realistic man-proportions. I don't understand, what is "darker" about that. It' still looks pretty much like DOS
I'm failing to see it too. Sadly, it casts a shadow on the rest of what he said.

Mmm, I don't like it. The models have the Bioware effect where the movements aren't synced with their speech. Their hair looks terrible, this doesn't need to be "cinematic". Concentrate the AAA budget on things that matter, please.

Swen already stated the animation blending is buggy during the live stream, you guys can stop criticizing it now.

they will probably remove bugs like characters rotating or translating, or parts of the face twitching, but I don't expect facial animations to be better than DAI or Fallout 4 (I would have liked to use other comparisions, but those are the best that came in my mind), which I think is understandable since Larian has never done this kind of work, for this kind of games I can live with it

Fascinating. Close to 3/4 of the people answering have pronouns on their bios.

You may not like it, but this is what peak D&D fan looks like:

Glad to see people waking up to the harsh reality of actual, current, real-life D&D fans that I've been talking about for months. The people that this game will be tailored to and cater to.

In case anyone's wondering, DMs Guild (from the guy's twitter profile) is the official, WotC-approved outlet for community-generated D&D content. If you want to publish anything D&D-related, whether for free or paid, you go there.

Doubt it, more likely he's one of the modern D&D fans that just uses it to larp. A D&D CRPG has zero appeal to this group because it's not why they "play" D&D.
a quick scan of his twitter has zero mentions of baldur's gate whatsoever, so, probably true.

Pretty convincing, right? What a weight off my mind.
Translation :
Comrades! The European war has been raging for more than eighteen months. And as each month, as each day of the war goes by, it becomes clearer and clearer to the masses of the workers that the Zimmerwald expressed the truth when it declared that phrases about “defence of the fatherland” and the like are nothing but capitalist deception. It is becoming more evident every day that this is a war between capitalists, between big robbers, who are quarrelling over the loot, each striving to obtain the largest share, the largest number of countries to plunder, and the largest number of nations to suppress and enslave. It may sound incredible, especially to Swiss comrades, but it is nevertheless true that in Russia, also, not only bloody tsarism, not only the capitalists, but also a section of the so-called or ex-Socialists say that Russia is fighting a “war of defence,” that Russia is only fighting against German invasion. The whole world knows, however, that for decades tsarism has been oppressing more than a hundred million people belonging to other nationalities in Russia; that for decades Russia has been pursuing a predatory policy towards China, Persia, Armenia and Galicia. Neither Russia, nor Germany, nor any other Great Power has the right to claim that it is waging a “war of defence”; all the Great Powers are waging an imperialist, capitalist war, a predatory war, a war for the oppression of small and foreign nations, a war for the sake of the profits of the capitalists, who are coining golden profits amounting to billions out of the appalling sufferings of the masses, out of the blood of the proletariat.

Don't doubt it. I have been involved in large D&D groups of actual tabletop players on Facebook, Google+ and forums. This is EXACTLY what the overwhelming majority of present-day D&D fan is like, which is also why I either left those communities or got banned from them.

If you think autists on the Codex are the main audience of BG3 and not the thousands upon thousands of people like this guy, I have bad news for you.

Not only D&D. Vampire, Cthulhu and so on.
But I think it's more a movement that's American. In Europe, especially through our libraries, they are more like everyone else.
