There's a ring on a strange ox in the druid grove which gives you +1d4 on all checks while shapeshifted, it works with the Mask of the Shapeshifter, so unconditionally all the time. Not bad.

Lyric Suite Since you still stumble around the Grove, you want might check that out now.

Since i cannot think of anything else to do besides talking to the ox, which i did, i allowed myself to google it, and, i'm a pally, not gonna happen.

Ox says it will meet you in Baldur's Gate so assuming more options will be there, like the chick who makes the bet at top of ladder. I can wait.
Where's the first item which gives easy access to animal dialogue?

The shorty vendor sells one. Effect lasts until long rest, so it's basically a permanent buff while you are exploring the whole druid cove.

He also sells a couple of the ingretients to actually craft the potion, and so does Auntie.
I have eight in inventory now at lvl 3. Game gives them out like candy (although may have pickpocketed half of those from Volo. He also has the Bless on Heal gloves).

Wait, so we never actually visit the Upper City properly?

Huh.

They should have at least make some smaller separated locations in other parts of the city. It would help in making it feel bigger.
I mean, it's big anyway, but I really wanted to see some classic landmark.

Hotfix #4 Now Live!
Version Number: 4.1.1.3645567
Hello everyone,

Thanks to all of you, we had an even better second weekend on Steam than our first, taking us to over 850,000 concurrent players on Sunday. We can’t quite believe it, but we’re firmly in the top 10 most played games of all time on Steam now, and we’re immensely grateful.

All that said, Hotfix #4 is here and it’s taking aim at several crashes, bugs, flow issues, and companions who keep trying to sleep in, all detailed below. Beware of spoilers!

As Swen mentioned on Twitter, up next on our roadmap is Patch 1 – a larger update of over 1000 fixes and tweaks, followed by Patch 2, which will incorporate some of the biggest requests we’ve received from the community since launch.

Please reach out to our support team with further issues. We’re busy working away on further patches and hotfixes, and your reports make the world of difference. Thank you for playing Baldur’s Gate 3.

I met Jaheira. My god, this is hilarious.

Where the fuck did they get this voice actress? Never imagined Jaheira sounding like a Russian expat wife.

Just had my first game breaking bug. Approaching what I assume is the ketheric final fight door in the mindflayer area, I click the door, it says a conversation starts... and then nothing happens. I can't move, the bubble dialogue is to the left of my character, but no conversation or cutscene is happening.

Reloading to previous saves didnt fix this.

Btw, about Jaheira.

Went to her harper lair and there's an interesting scroll on her table with druidic ritual of eternal youth. At first she refused to discuss it with me, but after we've saved Minsc (or maybe after certain influence threshold) she confessed that thought about becoming young again, because her power slowly fades, but then she met me and I'm such an awesome hero and now Jaheira thinks she can retire in peace because Baldur's Gate is in good hands.

So now I'm curious, if you manage to disappoint her(game hints that it's an option), does she go through with it? And if she does, post pics please.

Soundtrack so far is so-so. Some parts are truly nice. Underdark was good and gave me some NWN-vibes, everything at the mountain pass was exceptional with lots of changing themes.

Bring back plagiarizing movie scores for games please. Soundtracks have no right to be this anemic.

Nah, it really ain't that bad. There are some very nice themes that go along with the sense of adventuring. Also they somehow managed to change the theme of the music accordingly to what's happening on screen. It seems very organic.

-me: no, you're an illithid you will manipulate me
-him: so that's a yes, here's a cutscene
-me: i still don't trust you
-him: you're nothing without me, you are slave RAAAAHGR, dream ends

I think Larian kinda fucked up with their "Act"-progression. It should be achievement based instead of being based on which location you enter.
End of Act 1 should be the camp celebration after the grove plot.

The way they implemented the Act thing is just ... weird?

In my Dark Urge replay, I'm resting more, and still haven't gotten Astarion to admit he was a vampire - probably due to not being far enough along in the story, or maybe my influence is too low.

It was great to visit the tea house and see him lie to the player about being a vampire. He says Cazador is a slaver. Astarion will say the gur lied if the gur says he's hunting a vampire spawn named Astarion too. There's also the wild bore that you find that's been drained of blood.

This is the kind of reactivity I expect from a $60 RPG.

It's just a Steam achievement. The real progression is based on which areas you enter, and it's not really act-based. For example, going to the Western Pass before doing certain quests.

Has to be this way, because quests need to progress by the time you reach Moonrise.

Did the game thought he is my gay lover and prioritized him because of it? I guess the homosex worked in my favour for once.

Why the fuck was fournival my beloved?!

SPOILERS AHEAD
The whole game I chased after and helped the wife of the duke but at the end, in the final hall, I saw a fat ass old man running from the dragon. At the start I didn't even recognise the fat bastard, I thought he was just a generic NPC but after defeating the dragon and leaving with him, I realized who he was. It is even heavily implied that I had sex with Fournival... My character had sex with Fournival... HOW?!

Ho sweet summer child:
It was a pretty common thing back then. Even if you payed for something, you could still effectively get B roll from some movie. Not "technically" the movie theme, but some rejected piece that's very similar.

Anyway, my reaction was to the anemic thing. I think the soundtrack, especially the main theme, is decent. It's doesn't blare horns at every point, true. But that's modern music for you.

edit:

The battle music is ok too.

In my game, Astarion admitted to me that he's a vampire in a conversation in camp.

Then after couple more hours, when I encountered the hunter and talked to him about it, he denied being a vamp and said the hunter lied, acting as if the previous conversation never happened.

Then he tried to bite me at night, and my character acted like it's complete news to him that Astarion is a vampire.

This is the kind of reactivity I expect from a $60 RPG. Amazin
