BG3 is like the CRPG equivalent of Lewis Hamilton.

He might very well be one of the best f1 drivers of all time...but at the end of the day he's just a virtue signalling nigger with a monkeypox flag on his helmet so no one gives a shit.
"no one gives a sh*t"

Lol at the cope, BG3 is literally the only crpg anyone cares about. And just kill anyone you don't like, takes care of the "woke" aspect too.

At least there are people become interested in CRPG because of BG3. Not much but there are some of them.

Though from what I can tell, most of them are interested in a different aspect of the game(mostly story and romance, especially romance) comparing to people on codex, but still as long as they buy those smaller CRPG that's a good thing.
The wrong kind of people, but romancetroons shitting up RPG's isn't exactly a new development. See what happened to Bioware etc.

If BG3 causes millions of people to become interested in tactical, turn-based, squad-based combat, from which they move on to Tactical RPGs and squad-based tactics games, this will be an immense benefit to prestigious future games.

If BG3 results in smaller CRPG developers pandering to BG3's main audience by prominently including romances with overwrought, pre-generated party members this will be immense decline.

These two consequences aren't mutually exclusive. :M

Yes but there is no reason we will experience both. BG3 confirms we can find really good AAA games that capture the same joy as the original BG series but smaller studios and indie studios just dont have the same budgets so they will develop what they can. But smaller studios mustn't try to recreate a BG3 experience

"So many new releases" in what fucking dimension is he living?

There was almost nothing released this year except this game, Hogwart Legacy (typical ubi) and Colony Ship.

How dare you forget the critically lauded and best-selling RPG that defined 2023!

At first I thought you were only thinking about AAAs, but then you mentioned Colony Ship. You're simply not paying attention, this year has been insane for RPGs and there are more to come.

The dimension where kissing ass, cringe diplomacy, and forced optimism are more important than truth.

Give names, come on I dare you, give names of "INSANE" RPGs released this year.
And don't dare include DLCs, I want palpable RPGs releases, new licenses, new games, you know the drill.
